After leaving Kiyomizu-dera and walking down the slope, I saw a shop making yuba (tofu skin) inside. I took a closer look and found out that you could eat freshly made yuba for 300 yen. I ordered it and enjoyed the hot yuba with yuzu-flavored ponzu sauce. The high quality and deliciousness of the yuba were evident from the first bite, and it was incredibly tasty. They also sold yuba as a souvenir, but once you taste the freshly made one, there's no going back, so I decided to just enjoy it on the spot. I will definitely come back to try it again. It was a delicious meal. Thank you.

I visited in April 2019. The place is located under Yasaka Pagoda in Kyoto. It's conveniently located on the tourist route. They make fresh yuba on the spot, so you can eat it right away. There are chairs available in front of the shop where you can eat. I ordered fresh yuba for 300 yen. They also sell soy milk for 150 yen and soy milk soft serve for 350 yen. The fresh yuba was still warm and very delicious. You can enjoy it while looking at Yasaka Pagoda. Highly recommended.

I stroll around from Shijo Street towards Gojo Street. I am heading towards HoKanji Temple, but my friend's pace slows down due to the uphill slope. I take a break at the storefront of Kyoto Yuba Workshop and order yuba and soy milk. The yuba is topped with ponzu sauce. The rich taste of the yuba combined with the refreshing taste of ponzu sauce was quite delicious, and I finished it in no time. The soy milk also had a rich flavor. Since it was getting hot with good sunlight, I thought about ordering soy milk soft serve ice cream, but we decided to go to a different shop.

I found this place by chance while walking around, as I knew that my foreign relatives would probably not be able to eat yuba because they don't like soy milk. The yuba here can be tried for 300 yen. It was seasoned with ponzu sauce. As expected, my foreign relatives couldn't eat it after just one bite, but I personally found it delicious with its chewy texture. I prefer sweet soy sauce over ponzu if I were to eat it sashimi-style. Thank you for the meal!

I arrived before 12 o'clock, but the shop was not open yet. They were scheduled to open at 12:30, so I wandered around Kiyomizu Temple until then. By 2 o'clock, the smell of yuba was already in the air! After purchasing, I was able to eat it hot right away! I also wanted to try the soft serve, but it was too cold, so I'll save that for next time!

It was delicious. There was also some uniqueness to it. The portion size was small, so it's hard to say if 300 yen is expensive or cheap.
