It was delicious! I went as soon as the store opened, but they hadn't cooked the scallop rice yet, so they served white rice instead. However, when I was leaving, they gave me freshly cooked rice as a souvenir! It had mushrooms and yuba in it and was delicious!

I took my sister and nephew to this restaurant because I had been there before and it was delicious. It's located a little off the beaten path, which I like. The tatami seating was convenient for my 1-year-old nephew. The tempura was piping hot and the scallop rice was very filling. My nephew, who tried matcha salt for the first time, was delighted. He said the scallop rice was the most delicious dish he had during our trip to Kyoto. I think this restaurant is great for dining alone, with family, or with a small group of friends.

The taste is average, but the customer service and atmosphere are nice! It's close to home, so if you're undecided, definitely try Uemura Village.

There are 8 counter seats and 2 tables, with a calm and pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant is located slightly off the main hill.

Others have mentioned it as well, but I entered the restaurant based on my intuition from the sign and menu at the bottom of the hill. I arrived at 11:30, before any other customers had come in. I ordered the obanzai, tempura, and scallop rice set meal for myself, while my companion had the tempura bowl. Both meals came to a total of 1300 yen. The tempura was crispy and the rice was freshly cooked. Despite being a tourist spot, I think this is a well-established restaurant. The seats facing the wall allow you to stretch your legs down like in a sunken kotatsu. The 4-person table seats feel a bit cramped. Even if you're dining alone as a woman, you can enjoy your meal without feeling self-conscious.

After strolling around Kiyomizu-dera, Rane and her friends were feeling hungry as they walked down Sannenzaka. They spotted a crowded signboard at a place they had just descended to and decided to check it out. Although there seemed to be another shop further back, they headed towards the one in front! (By the way, we actually wanted to check out the shop at the back first, but when the shop owner tried to get our attention, we said, "We'll think about it" and went back to look at the shop at the back later.) It was a bit confusing to figure out which shop was which based on the signboards out there. Eventually, they reached the shop with the interior and atmosphere they preferred and were excited to finally sit down and have a meal. They quickly placed their order, wanting something light to eat and also opting for a hearty seasonal rice set due to their hunger. Rane ordered tea soba while her companion chose udon. The food arrived promptly after ordering. The soba was served in a bowl with the sauce poured over it, giving it a stylish appearance. The tea soba had a chewy texture and the noodle soup had a light flavor. It was topped with a half-boiled egg, seaweed, fried tofu, tempura crumbs, fish cake, and green onions. The seasonal rice set featured dried shredded bonito with Japanese pepper sprinkled on top. The side dishes of simmered radish and carrot, and sweet potato tempura had a gentle flavor. The pickles were well-seasoned and complemented the rice perfectly. They enjoyed a leisurely meal in a calm atmosphere, and the staff was also courteous. Highly recommended!

On the way to Kiyomizu Temple, I was looking for something delicious and cheap to eat. I came across a sign for Uemura near the stairs, which had pictures of delicious eel rice bowls, tempura, and soba at slightly cheaper prices compared to other shops. The entrance and interior of the shop felt a bit narrow, but the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice. I ordered the eel rice bowl, which was a generous size and left me feeling very satisfied after finishing it. I recommend it for those looking for a budget-friendly option!

Located a short walk down the Sannenzaka slope, this charming little shop is the perfect spot for a break after visiting Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The staff greets you warmly as you enter, and the cozy atmosphere surrounded by trees makes it a great place to relax. On this particular day, I had the eel bowl for 1300 yen and the seasonal rice set for 1400 yen, which included scallop rice and green tea soba. Both dishes were delicious and reasonably priced for the area. The portion sizes were just right, leaving you satisfied but not overly full. This shop is perfect for a casual meal when you're exploring the area and craving something tasty. Highly recommended for a quick and satisfying bite to eat!

While strolling around Sanenzaka, we stumbled upon a restaurant with a sign and decided to visit for lunch. Despite being slightly off the main street, the restaurant was bustling with customers. It was fully packed, but luckily we were able to get a table as soon as a couple left. With no prior information, we ordered the tempura rice bowl and my partner ordered the eel bowl. It was a hot day, but we were pleasantly surprised to see a pitcher of ice-cold tea waiting for us at our table. The bowls arrived promptly despite the crowd. The tempura was crispy and perfectly balanced with a sweet and salty sauce, complementing the fluffy rice beautifully. The broth was just right, and the pickles were delicious too. My partner's eel bowl was also outstanding, with flavorful and tender eel that was far from the greasy eel you find at supermarkets. Both dishes were priced in the lower thousand yen range. We found a great restaurant that doesn't compromise on quality even in a tourist area. We enjoyed a delicious lunch.

I went to Kiyomizu-dera by a sightseeing bus in Kyoto and had about 1 hour of free time, so I went to eat lunch. Since there were no reviews on Tabelog, I searched in Yahoo in advance. From Kiyomizu-dera, I went down the Sannenzaka stairs and found the restaurant on the narrow alley on the right. I lined up during the busy lunch hour. I waited for about 15 minutes. The restaurant was small, with 2 large tables and 1 small table in the tatami room, and a long table along the wall, accommodating about 20 people. But it was worth the wait!! The lunch menu was cheap and reasonable, and delicious. We ordered extra unagi-don and shared it among 3 people, and it was also delicious. I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again if I have the chance.
