When walking along Nio-mon Street from Okazaki area, I found a coffee specialty shop. It operates like a regular café where you sit down and place your order. After settling in, I observed that it transforms into a completely different type of eatery at night. Perhaps they share the space with another business. The retro atmosphere reminiscent of a Showa-era (or possibly Taisho-era) public bath was fascinating. As I relaxed, my order of "Café Karume" and "Iced Milk Coffee" arrived. The milk coffee was unexpectedly delicious, with a rich intensity similar to espresso but offering a unique and unforgettable flavor. This coffee shop is definitely worth visiting again in the future.

Located along the Nio-mon street, there is a coffee shop named "Miku" which operates from morning till evening in a space rented from the teppanyaki restaurant "New Omon" that has been there for a few years. A wooden signboard with the word "coffee" is displayed outside the shop, and inside, a smartly dressed man serves customers. The coffee options include strong and light roasts, both brewed using either Nel drip or paper drip methods. They also offer milk coffee (550 yen), iced coffee (550 yen), butter toast (350 yen), as well as baked goods and tarts from other shops. Additionally, they sell coffee beans for 700 yen per 100g. I ordered the "strong" coffee (500 yen), which was freshly ground and meticulously brewed using the Nel drip method. The slow and steady extraction process resembled a drip coffee maker, reminiscent of the scenes at "Uzu" and "Nagatsuki" in Tokyo. The coffee, served in a warm cup, had a smooth and rich taste with a hint of cocoa-like flavor, showcasing a well-balanced bitterness and sweetness. The serene atmosphere of the shop, combined with the evident expertise in roasting and extraction, made for a memorable and satisfying cup of coffee. I learned that they use a hand-operated roasting machine and operate from 8:00 to 16:00. The shop is conveniently located a 6-minute walk from Sanjo Station. For a moment of relaxation in this area, or for purchasing quality roasted beans, coffee enthusiasts should definitely visit this place.
