Yorokobi-ya Ramen: Finally tried this place. I had decent expectations coming here, but the result was disappointing. I ordered the default ramen, but the soup was a bit lukewarm, the seasoning was too strong, and the pork fat was tasty. Maybe the taste would change if the chef changes, but I won't be visiting again. The best part was the pickled plum they served at the beginning (laughs).

I thought that Rakuraku-tei was a touch panel ordering system, but here the staff come to take your order. I decided to try something different and ordered the cold noodles with a side of half-fried rice and deep-fried chicken set. It cost 1360 yen. Since the bowl was made of stainless steel, I thought it might be a soup dish, but when I asked if I could add some spice, they offered to add spicy sesame sauce. The cold noodles had a nice texture, and the deep-fried chicken at Rakuraku-tei was new to me, but it was large and crispy, with a simple flavor. It tasted great dipped in the sesame sauce. The honey pickled plum on the table was also good.

The wonton noodles were delicious! I had a set of fried rice and dumplings with a large serving of wonton noodles. It was the perfect time between lunch and dinner to leisurely enjoy my meal. I requested the chashu with fatty meat and it was amazing!

Ramen restaurant Koraitei was a chain that I hadn't visited much before, but last weekend, I happened to stop by the Noshu Main Store and got a free voucher for their anniversary event. So, before the expiration date, this week my family and I went to the Ichijoji Store near our home. I ordered the ramen (700 yen) with an additional fried chicken set (+330 yen). The noodles were firm, with plenty of green onions and a hint of spice. My family ordered the rich ramen (780 yen), but my favorite is definitely the default Kyoto-style chicken broth soy sauce ramen. This ramen can easily hold its own against a certain long-established ramen shop in Kyoto, with its tender sliced pork and the atmosphere of chili pepper and pork fat floating on the soy sauce soup. The fried rice also has a savory and spicy soy sauce flavor that is addictively delicious. The fried chicken not only tastes great but also has a generous portion. Just like my previous visit to the main store, the employees at this branch (Ichijoji Store) were very attentive and professional. Their friendly demeanor, attention to detail in taking orders for different noodle firmness and flavor intensity, and swift service were impressive. It's amazing how consistent the taste and service are between the main store and the branch. The kids also enjoyed the meal and ate more than usual, making Koraitei a welcome choice for family dining chains. It was delicious once again today. Thank you for the meal.

Visited on Monday evening, July 15, 2019 at 3pm. The restaurant was about 20% full, which is expected for 3pm. I ordered the limited quantity maze soba that starts at 3pm. I confirmed that garlic was included by default, so I requested it to be removed. I had to wait a bit for the dish to be served. The noodles were thick, which may have affected the taste. Surprisingly, I found the flavor to be protein-rich. It was definitely strong, but not as intense as other places I've tried.
