Here, they seem to boast about their Genghis Khan and Mita beef offal hot pot. But the name of the restaurant is neither sheep nor cow, but camel (laughs). There are counter seats in front of the restaurant. We were guided to the tatami room at the back. We ordered a draft beer (500 yen) and a highball (450 yen), and were served an appetizer - wow, the tai-shime appetizer is delicious. Then, the tofu that Miyoshin ordered arrived. Tofu with spicy bean paste and dried young sardines (550 yen) - the spicy bean paste is quite spicy and goes well with alcohol! The dried young sardines are crispy and add a nice accent. From here, we decided to go with a "lamb feast". First, we had lamb yukhoe (800 yen). The yukhoe is so fresh and delicious! It tastes just as good as beef. And apparently, it's healthier than beef, which is great! Then, we had lamb tataki (800 yen). The tataki is also delicious!! It has a light texture and you can eat as much as you want. We ordered Dream Chu-Hi (500 yen) and Ikko Mono (500 yen) for drinks, and then ordered the main dish. There were various types of hot pots to choose from, but this time we chose Genghis Khan. The Genghis Khan set (1 person portion, 1500 yen) arrived with a pot for grilling and the set itself. I thought the meat would be thin, but it was actually thickly cut. And the owner said, "Please don't overcook it." I was a bit worried about not cooking it thoroughly, but when I tried a slightly rare piece, it was "delicious!!" It's incredibly tender! And it doesn't have any gaminess! I was surprised by the taste! It was just as delicious as Hinocki said it would be!!

Rakuda-ya is a lamb meat specialty restaurant located about a 5-minute walk from Hankyu Nishinomiya Station in Kyoto. You can enjoy fresh lamb meat with no smell at all! This time, I had the Genghis Khan dish, but you can also try lamb shabu-shabu and lamb offal hot pot. There are also plenty of unique dishes made with lamb meat! It was my first time trying lamb tataki, and it was delicious! ☺️

I visited after several years and found that the place, which used to have tatami seating, has been renovated into table seating, giving the whole interior a stylish look. However, the restaurant was filled with the smoke from the Genghis Khan grilling, so better ventilation might be needed. The lamb meat itself was delicious without any unpleasant smell, and the shabu-shabu was also tasty.

I finally went to the Genghis Khan restaurant, Rakuda-ya in Nishikyogoku, which I had wanted to visit for a long time. Genghis Khan is a dish I haven't had since a long time ago in Hokkaido. I visited the restaurant before 6:00 PM, so there was only one other group of customers. I sat at the counter and ordered the Genghis Khan set (¥1720 tax included) and a lemon chu-hi (¥480 tax included). It was delicious, so I decided to add the lamb kalbi to my order, but they only had lamb shoulder left, so I ended up ordering the same lamb shoulder (¥1320 tax included) and rice (¥260 tax included). Everything was going well until I realized something crucial. The additional meat I ordered was tough and sinewy, unlike the first meat they served (almost all of it). While this might be common in order-style buffets, receiving different quality meat suddenly made me feel suspicious... Unfortunately, I won't be coming back. I was satisfied in the beginning, but it was disappointing. The total bill came to ¥4130 tax included.

I made a reservation and visited the restaurant. They took care to check our temperature and provide alcohol disinfection, and the meal was delicious. The lamb shabu-shabu was particularly tasty, and the porridge made by the staff after the lamb shabu-shabu was also very delicious. I would love to visit this restaurant again!

There aren't many places in Kyoto that serve delicious Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue), right? I searched around but couldn't find a good one... But this time, I hit the jackpot! I ordered a Genghis Khan set and added some lamb loin meat as well. The regular one is made from shoulder meat, but I personally prefer the shoulder one (*´꒳`*)✨ The loin meat had a nice juicy fat content, which I enjoyed. My preference is for the shoulder though...♪*゚ The menu mentioned that it's better not to cook the meat too much, so I followed that advice. I thought the slices were a bit thick, but they turned out tender and delicious. I also ordered some lamb sashimi! It was served with ponzu sauce and grated daikon, making it light and refreshing (˙꒳˙) Healthy, not too meaty, and very tasty! They also have a good selection of sake, which is nice. We went to this delicious Genghis Khan restaurant on a Saturday night. We had lamb shabu-shabu, and the tofu in the pot was delicious! The tender lamb meat without any strong flavor was also delicious. The light and refreshing broth was tasty as well. It was easy to eat and warmed both the body and the heart. The Chinese noodles at the end were also delicious with the broth. The fried potatoes were tasty and you could taste the flavor of the potatoes. They were thin fries but had a nice crispy texture. I would love to go back for Genghis Khan or lamb shabu-shabu again! Thank you for the meal.

I was recommended to visit this famous restaurant by someone who lives nearby. Although it is quite far from Saiin, it is well-known. After visiting, people around me also said that it was delicious. The place gets quite smoky, so it's recommended to take off your jacket and suit before entering. The name of the restaurant is Rakuda, and they serve Genghis Khan (grilled lamb). A few years ago, they also had fish-related dishes, but now they only serve lamb. The lamb pieces are cut small, I wish they were a bit bigger, but the meat is fresh and delicious. The vegetable stir-fry cooked in the lamb oil is also delicious. The lamb karaage (fried chicken) is also tasty. I had a chance to chat with the chef, who usually doesn't come out of the kitchen, and he has a strong commitment to the lamb. It is one of the best-tasting lamb dishes I have ever had. And no matter how much you eat, you won't feel heavy in the stomach. The bill came out to 6,000 yen per person, which was good value for money.

Genghis Khan is delicious... but the restaurant is smoky. It's a bit distracting as three different staff members came to our table one after another (laughs). The meat is cooked authentically! Pour oil on the Genghis Khan pot, place vegetables in the grooves, and let the lamb oil circulate for a sweet and delicious flavor. Cook the Genghis Khan directly on the hot iron plate. This is the real deal. Good Genghis Khan meat should be eaten rare! What some may consider fake is... placing the meat on top of the vegetables like a steamed dish, which prevents the meat from getting a nice sear and makes it tough. The fresh thick-cut lamb was incredibly delicious.
