I visited this restaurant around 11:30. It is located on the way to Kiyomizu Temple and has a souvenir shop attached. There are about 10 seats available. I ordered eel, which was average. The sauce was a bit too much, but the taste was ordinary. The atmosphere had a Kyoto vibe, so it was nice.

When heading towards Kiyomizu-dera, we strolled along Gojo-zaka and found a charming tea house just before reaching Kiyomizu-dera. The tea house, Kiyomizu Seieido, had a lovely atmosphere. I was a bit worried about the prices, but when I looked at the menu, it wasn't too expensive, and they offered a variety of meals. The interior was full of greenery, and the view from inside was beautiful. They had fans on display, adding to the summer vibe. The round paper lanterns were adorable. I decided to try the most popular item, the Kyoto-style obanzai bento. It included tofu hamburger, shrimp and fish cake wrapped in yuba, green beans with sesame dressing, simmered taro with minced chicken, chirimen sansho rice, pickled vegetables, and miso soup with chirimen sansho. It was all delicious, with a variety of flavors in each dish. The tofu hamburger was packed with ingredients and very tasty. While we were eating, a sparrow came to the garden in front of us and chirped happily among the trees. It was cute to watch. Next to the tea house, they were selling various cute Kyoto souvenirs. There was even a stuffed cat peeking into the shop, which was adorable.

I was hungry and attracted by the charming entrance, so I decided to enter. I was seated by the window at the counter and ordered a draft beer, but only bottled beer was available. For food, I had soba noodles and curry udon. The soba noodles had a nice texture and were very delicious, while the curry udon with boiled egg warmed me up. The restaurant was connected with a souvenir shop, and I paid at the souvenir shop. The total bill for two people was less than 3000 yen. I would love to visit this restaurant again when I go to Kyoto next time.

I went on a day trip to Kyoto for the three-day weekend in February to celebrate the Emperor's birthday. The number of foreign tourists has decreased significantly, but it seems that some Japanese people are starting to return. I found a nice restaurant near Chawan-zaka and decided to go in. The restaurant was renovated from an old traditional house, with a large window and a counter leading to the kitchen. I ordered a beef bowl with a raw egg on top, which was delicious. Then, an obanzai bento box arrived with shrimp spring rolls, sweet potato in miso sauce, green beans with sesame, and tofu hamburger. It was a small portion but each dish was carefully prepared and tasty. The atmosphere was cozy and the view of the garden was nice. The bill was paid at the souvenir shop next door by a friendly elderly owner. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience in Kyoto.

The curry bowl was very bad. The rice was hard, cold, and not tasty. The attitude of the staff was not very good either. Two staff members were fighting. I was surprised.
