I visited this place that I've been curious about for a while. There were so many types of tea to choose from, but I decided to go with the recommended matcha. There were also many options for matcha, but I chose one with a good balance of bitterness and sweetness. If you want to learn about tea, it might be worth visiting this place at least once.

Kyoto Kawaramachi Station is about a 5-minute walk away, and our shop is located on a side street. Although categorized as a cafe, our specialty is "tea," with Uji tea having one of Japan's most prestigious tea histories. Inside the shop, you can choose from dozens of types of green tea, blue tea, white tea, yellow tea, etc., making it a great recommendation for tea enthusiasts. We chose matcha from five different types. Matcha can also be selected from five types. We were amazed by the variety of options. We ordered the "Kirari 31," which is a smooth matcha latte that can be enjoyed simply. It is finished off with Italian organic oat milk, making it incredibly mild. It was delicious, so we also tried the "Koicha Latte." As the name suggests, it is rich. However, it has a bitterness that reminds me of middle school tea ceremonies, which I find enjoyable. By adding a little oat milk, you can also enjoy the change in flavor. During the hot summer months, it's also great to take the latte to go and enjoy it while walking around.

The matcha flavor was rich and delicious. The intense matcha was a bit powdery and made me cough at first, but I got used to it and it was good. There were many types of tea to choose from, so it was hard to decide what to buy. The fruit tea was homemade and unfortunately sold out.

The matcha latte with extra matcha was delicious and easy to drink with a nice sweetness from the oat milk. The hojicha latte was refreshing and went down smoothly. At first, I was unsure if hojicha and oat milk would go well together, but it was a unique combination. It seemed like they mainly focus on takeout orders. I wanted to sit and relax this time, so I'll come back another time.

First visit 202302 (No.4252)
1. Purpose of visit
- Visiting as the third stop on the second day in Kyoto
2. Shop information
- Genre on Tabelog: Cafe, Japanese tea specialty shop, Chinese tea specialty shop
- Opened around June 2021
- Rather than distinguishing between Japanese tea and Chinese tea, the shop classifies tea into 7 types based on fermentation level and characteristics, including green tea, white tea, yellow tea, oolong tea, black tea, and even flower tea made from ingredients other than tea leaves, allowing customers to find their favorite flavor and aroma
- Business hours: 11:00-21:30
- Closed on Thursdays
- Seating capacity: Standing for about 4 people
3. Crowdedness and atmosphere on the day of visit
- Visited around 11:10 on a weekday with no other customers
- Sophisticated and stylish atmosphere
4. Customer service
- Handled by a young lady alone, provided good explanations of the products, exceeding standard customer service
5. Order
- Straight tea (Shi Guping Oolong) for 400 yen
- The staff selected this item as it's not easy to find a visually appealing item with straight tea. The tea leaves are measured, and the customer is encouraged to enjoy the differences between the first and second brew, with the option to brew more. The tea is rare and has a complex flavor profile, making it an enjoyable tea for self-brewing
- Information from the shop's website provides details about Shi Guping Oolong tea, its characteristics, and brewing instructions
- Overall, it's a great shop with a nice atmosphere, offering over 80 types of tea on the menu and free tastings, making it a must-visit for tea enthusiasts.

This tea shop offers around 70 types of Chinese and Japanese teas. The owner, who clearly loves tea, was very enjoyable to talk to. I tried the Wako tea and loved it, so I purchased 35 grams. I also tried the recommended latte made with parent-child roasted tea, which was delicious. I will definitely visit again!

First, I was a bit confused about the entrance, but there were people inside so I decided to go in. The staff kindly explained everything to me and I ordered a strong tea espresso. It was indeed strong! I drank about half of it before adding oat milk, which made it lighter. They also mentioned that adding sugar would make it sweeter. The tea was so intense that I hesitated to add anything at first. I also tried the matcha latte, which I think is great if you like oat milk. Both drinks were made right in front of me, which was really impressive!

I love tea, although I am not very knowledgeable about it. I really like the tea at Chenchisan, a representative Italian restaurant in Kyoto. The owner and staff are very polite and helpful. I tried the tea pairing at Chenchisan and it was incredibly delicious. I bought two types of green tea, one Chinese tea, and one Taiwanese tea to enjoy at home. I can't wait to try them! I was recommended a great store! #7t+ #SeventyTeaPlus #teashop #tea #tea leaves #Chinese tea #Taiwanese tea #black tea #green tea #white tea #yellow tea #oolong tea #dark tea #flower tea #Kyoto Kawaramachi #Kyoto souvenir #love tea #tea pairing

Located in Kawaramachi, Kyoto, there is a shop called 7T+✨ The name 7T+ (Seventy Plus) is said to represent the seven colors of tea and the exploration of its possibilities. They sell over 70 types of tea leaves, tea utensils, and sweets. My go-to drink here is the strong matcha latte, which has just the right balance of sweetness and matcha bitterness. The teas are classified into 7 types based on the utilization of oxidation enzymes and individual characteristics. They also offer original non-caffeine flower teas blended with organic edible flowers, dried fruits, and herbs. I want to try everything on the menu! I also want to try the Damask Rose Latte next time. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about tea, making it a must-visit for tea lovers. I definitely want to go back again. Thank you for the delicious experience!❤️

Tea is classified into 7 groups, ranging from green tea which is heated immediately after picking to stop the oxidation enzyme, to fully fermented black tea which maximizes the activity of the oxidation enzyme. There are about 75 types of tea in total. The glass cases on the counter are impressive, showcasing the diverse world of tea. I wish I could be someone who can visit such shops regularly.

My husband continued his stroll, while feeling a bit tired, I decided to return to the hotel to rest. On the way back from the hotel, I found a tea specialty store that was recommended by another customer. This store, which opened in June this year, offers a new style of tea experience. The owner, Mr. Nakano, discovered the richness of time that comes with tea during a trip to China about 20 years ago, and since then, he has been visiting tea-producing regions to source tea leaves, opening this store that handles both Chinese and Japanese tea leaves. The entrance of the store is wide open, perhaps for ventilation. In the middle, there is a large table with samples of tea leaves in shallow trays. The wall shelves display various tea utensils (which are also for sale) and catch the eye. At that time, it seemed that there was no seating area for dining in. In addition to selling tea leaves, they also offer tea in plastic cups for takeout, so I decided to get some to enjoy in my hotel room when I felt thirsty. I tried the iced tea made with tea leaves from Kyoto. It had a refreshing taste and a pleasant aroma, perfect for quenching my thirst. By spending a leisurely afternoon in the hotel room, my fatigue eased and my stomach started to feel pleasantly empty, allowing me to head to a restaurant for dinner. I had a cup of drink at the store, but with the wide selection of tea leaves available, it would be nice to consult with the owner to choose one to enjoy at home later. Thank you for the meal~.

On Sunday at 13:40, I visited 7T+ (Seventy Plus) Tea Stand that I had been curious about for a while. It's located near Kyoto Ame Crochet. My daughter and I went in, and we debated back and forth while choosing our lattes. There were quite a few options, so it was hard to decide. I chose the Kyoto Hojicha Latte for 500 yen, and my daughter chose the Damask Rose Latte for 500 yen. The interior of the shop was spectacular, with tea leaves displayed in glass containers, and you could even sample the fragrances, which was fun. I hadn't smelled the aroma of Taiwanese Oolong tea in a while, and it made me feel nostalgic. When I asked the owner if I could take a photo, they kindly allowed me to. We enjoyed our lattes in the shop. Both flavors were new to us, and the owner provided us with lots of information. When we were leaving, we discussed taking some Oolong tea home, and the owner recommended Shizuoka Oolong tea (!). I purchased 10g of Shizuoka Oolong tea (Koshun) for 280 yen since they didn't have 30g at that time. The owner mentioned, "Japanese Oolong tea and black tea have greatly improved in quality." It was my first time encountering domestic Oolong tea, and I'm looking forward to trying it. I'll savor it later (now, where did I put my Chinese tea set?). It's nice that you can buy small amounts to try, depending on your mood. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the delicious experience.

Located near Hotel Granvia Kyoto, 7T+ (Seventy Plus) is situated along Ayanokoji Street, southwest of Shijo Street. The name of the establishment means "exploring the possibilities beyond seven colors of tea." They offer around 70 types of tea leaves, tea utensils, and sweets. The owner became interested in tea while studying various things at a shop along Imadegawa Street and decided to open this place. The atmosphere is chic and sophisticated. Upon entering, you will see a variety of tea leaves displayed on deep trays on the tables. You can actually smell and try the tea leaves, and they will brew a tea of your choice for you to taste on the spot. I had a conversation with the owner about tea (I learned that there is black tea in Japan, and even in Shikoku) and ended up choosing the Ishigotsubo Oolong (35g/3,500 yen). This tea is said to be the origin of modern Oolong tea and is a precious tea made by the She ethnic minority in China at an altitude of 800 meters. It has a clear, fragrant taste with a long finish and no bitterness, exuding elegance. You can drink it endlessly. The label includes information on how to brew the tea, which is very helpful. They also offer rare and exotic teas, as well as a variety of options for takeout, including latte tea. I only intended to stop by briefly, but I ended up staying longer because it was so fascinating. I will definitely make time to visit again.
