Macha's Recommended Meal!
This is a blog introducing recommended gourmet spots in Osaka and Kyoto! We update every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but sometimes on other days as well. Thank you for reading today!
Sumi no Kuchi
Today's shop is a 5-minute walk from Nishii Station. This is the first time in this area for this blog! Surprisingly, there are various shops and it's a fun area! It's a charcoal grill bar called "Sumi no Kuchi"! I've been curious about this place since a certain gourmet Instagrammer in Kyoto checked in here. I called on the day we decided to drink at Nishii and luckily they had 2 seats available, so we went there!
An incredibly popular and stylish shop
As soon as you enter the shop, there is a counter. In the back, there are 4-person table seats. It's a surprisingly spacious shop. It's just stylish. The design is stylish with a playful touch. Even the paintings on the wall say "Sumi no Kuchi" when you look closely. The world view is well thought out! After I entered, customers kept coming in and it was almost full. It's a popular shop! I decided to sit at the counter. It's fun to talk to the master over the counter!
Unstoppable Sumi no Kuchi!
As the name suggests, the specialty of the shop is charcoal-grilled dishes. There's a great aroma... I just want to eat it... This is "Sumi no Kuchi"! The menu items other than charcoal-grilled dishes are also elaborate and all look delicious! I'm torn between choices!
Almond Potato Salad 450 yen
First, the potato salad. It has a sweet seasoning and is gentle. The almonds give it a crunchy texture! I could eat this forever!
Green Salad 550 yen
We also had a salad with plenty of crispy vegetables! It has a refreshing dressing. There are walnuts in it, so the contrast in texture is enjoyable!
Black Wagyu Cutlet 900 yen
The popular Angus beef loin cutlet for 900 yen was sold out, so they specially made it with black Wagyu for me. I'm not sure about the price... The rare black Wagyu with its vivid red color stimulates the appetite! The crispy coating and juicy meat just melt in your mouth... It's exquisite!
Beef Skewers Hokkaido Herb Beef Ribeye 550 yen (1 skewer)
Next is the main attraction, the charcoal-grilled dishes! First, the Hokkaido herb beef ribeye skewer! I had it simply with salt and wasabi! The overflowing meat juices burst in your mouth with the flavor of the meat!
Harami 300 yen (1 skewer)
The harami is grilled with a fragrant sauce! It's tender and amazing!
Angus Beef Rump 300 yen (1 skewer)
I also had the Angus beef rump skewer! It's a substantial piece, so I had it with a refreshing mustard sauce!
Yamagata Beef Turtle Meat 3,200 yen
Finally, I had the rare part of the Yamagata beef, the turtle meat, grilled over charcoal! The exquisite rareness is... too beautiful... I enjoy it with wasabi, Tasmanian mustard, mayonnaise, and garlic chips! The fatty turtle meat melts in your mouth as soon as you put it in! It's amazing!
Personally, I recommend enjoying it with a generous amount of garlic chips. The red wine just keeps flowing!
Why is charcoal-grilled meat so delicious...?! There were many other delicious dishes, so I want to go back again!
