I, a crepe lover, took out a crepe from Gelato Pique. Although I could have eaten it at the nearby cafe, I enjoy eating while walking, so I ate it on the way to the station. The crepe's batter was simple, made with butter and sugar, but the top was crispy while the inside was soft and chewy. As a fan of crepe batter, I found it very delicious. There are various flavors available, so I would like to come back again.

I stopped by for a break during my weekend evening shopping. The place is about 80% full, with no waiting line. The summer terrace seats are a bit hot, but the turnover seems good. I ordered pastrami beef and spinach salad, along with ginger peach tea. Both were delicious! The crepe salad with salt really hit the spot after sweating a lot. It was quite hot. The ginger peach tea had too much ice, which was disappointing as I wanted to drink more.

After finishing my errands in Ikebukuro, I found myself craving something sweet after lunch. I wandered around and ended up at Gelato Pique Cafe Crepe LUMINE Ikebukuro. It's always crowded there. It was my first time trying it out. I quickly checked reviews to decide what to order. Plain crepe seemed popular, but I also wanted to try the ice cream. Oh, when I added them on LINE, I got a free gelato! I decided to go for the limited edition Shirokuma crepe because it looked so cute. It had fruits and cream cheese inside, and it was delicious. Don't underestimate the plain crepe! It was unexpectedly good with a buttery flavor. It had a nostalgic texture, not too chewy but more like a crispy senbei. I think I'll go for that next time. The gelato was also tasty. I wanted pistachio, but they were sold out. I definitely want to try the plain crepe again.

I really like the butter and sugar crepe made with Echire butter at Gelato Pique Cafe here. It's simple but always served hot and fresh, and the harmony of the salty butter and crunchy sugar is irresistible. Sometimes the amount of sugar is a little less depending on the staff, but I prefer when there's a good amount of sugar. The crepe is very light so I can easily finish it. I always go for this one, but they also have other crepes like salted butter caramel or meal-type crepes. They even had a limited edition crepe with a cute bear-shaped ice cream on top! The crepe has a crispy top and a chewy bottom, and the crepe itself is delicious. On this day, I ordered the simple butter and sugar crepe with an Earl Grey tea ice cream, and it was delicious as always. The cafe only has terrace seating, but the seats by the wall at the back seem to have some sort of cooling, so it wasn't too hot. However, since it's mostly outdoors, it might be a bit uncomfortable to stay for long during the upcoming hot season.

Solo visit on a day off. A cafe located on the 1st floor of Lumine, very close to Ikebukuro Station West Exit. This chain of cafes, which operates 8 stores in Japan and overseas, is known for its authentic French crepes that even adults can enjoy. While the base is a take-out shop, this particular store has a terrace seat overlooking the street, where you can enjoy freshly made crepes on the spot. I've always been envious of the elegant ladies who enjoy crepes on the terrace every time I pass by during work. Finally, during my off time in Ikebukuro, I made my long-awaited first visit. I arrived around noon. There was no direct sunlight, and a pleasant breeze was blowing through. The terrace already had about 15 customers, creating a lively atmosphere. I ordered the "Butter and Sugar Crepe" set with iced coffee and sat at the terrace. I spent about 10 minutes enjoying the luxurious time with the relaxing Bossa Nova music playing. Just as the bell rang to indicate that my crepe was ready. True to its name, the crepe had no cream or ice cream, and I devoured it like a true French person. It was simple yet crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. I wanted to keep eating forever, but it disappeared in no time, leaving me feeling sentimental. I definitely want to visit again in my casual attire soon. Thank you for the meal. I will be back.

It is recommended to come in spring or autumn and sit on the terrace to eat. I had the limited edition American cherry crepe, and it was delicious with a chewy texture. It was the best crepe I've ever had. The seating is not very abundant, so be careful.

I came to Ikebukuro after a long time and finally visited Gelato Pique Cafe that I have always wanted to go to. It has been over 10 years since I last visited the West Exit! Although the building hasn't changed, the store has changed a lot and I was quite surprised. I didn't even know that Metropolitown had turned into Lumine... I was like Urashima Taro. This store has outdoor seating along the street (with a roof), so it might not be suitable when the weather is bad. I secured a seat, ordered at the counter, waited for about 15 minutes, and received the buzzer to pick up my items. Plain crepe 580 yen, Ice Pique Latte 490 yen. The freshly baked crepe was crispy and delicious! The butter flavor was exquisite and I finished it in no time! I could probably eat two of these! The surroundings were filled with young ladies, and as a woman in her fifties, I felt a little out of place, but I was very satisfied because I got to eat delicious crepes.

Today, after shopping in Ikebukuro, I went to the popular Gelato Pique Cafe. There was no wait today, which was nice. They always have a new seasonal limited-time menu, and until June 29th, you can enjoy their American cherry sweets. The cherry's sweet and sour flavor paired with fluffy cream on chocolate-based gelato and crepe is heavenly. The soda was refreshing, and it was great to relax on the terrace seats. If you love cherries and haven't tried this yet, I recommend going soon. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I was curious about Gelato Pique's crepes and felt like eating them, so I stopped by after work.
Store Information:
Gelato Pique Cafe Creperie
Lumine Ikebukuro Store
1-11-1 Nishi-Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo
Opening Hours: 11:00-21:00
Closed: Same as Lumine Ikebukuro
Nearest Station: Ikebukuro Station
Payment: Cash, Credit Card, Cashless Payment
Purchase Method: Payment in advance when ordering
After a long time, I activated my poor sense of direction and finally found the store after circling around Lumine. The prices were a bit high, so after some contemplation, I decided to order the most popular item.
Order:
- Butter and Sugar Crepe ¥580 (takeout ¥570)
- Free service of one type of ice cream with LINE friend addition bonus
* You can choose to have it on top of the crepe or receive it separately
After paying, I waited for a while with the buzzer in hand. When the buzzer lit up, I went to the pick-up counter. The Butter and Sugar Crepe looked simple without any toppings, but it had a crispy and soft texture when I took a bite. The taste was delicious, and the sweetness that followed was irresistible.
When I think of crepes, I imagine them with toppings like bananas, strawberries, ice cream, and whipped cream, which I prefer. However, if the crepe itself is delicious, it doesn't feel lonely even without toppings. It was so tasty that I couldn't resist and went back for a second time within a week. I had the Butter and Sugar Crepe again, but this time, I got the Royal Bourbon (vanilla ice cream) for free with the LINE friend addition bonus. It was simple, but both times, I enjoyed it till the end without getting tired of it. Next time, I might try a crepe with fruits or a limited-time menu item.

They mentioned that the limited-time strawberry mille-feuille crepe was amazing! *Gelato Pique Cafe Creperie Lumine Ikebukuro in Ikebukuro* My favorite here is the plain crepe with butter and sugar ✨✨ Today was a bit cold, so it would be nice if there was indoor seating in addition to the terrace. #GelatoPique #GelatoPiqueCafe #IkebukuroCafe #IkebukuroGourmet

When you want to take a breather alone in Ikebukuro, come here!! Outside Lumine, try the Échiré butter crepe ❤️ It doesn't have the usual cream and banana that kids like. Enjoy the crispy and fluffy texture of the crepe itself and the flavor of the butter ❤️ It's a crepe for adults ❤️ The view is of Ikebukuro, but the cute shop will soothe you!!

Ordered the sugar butter bread. The crust is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The sugar is crunchy. It's delicious. I want to try the cream ones too, but I always end up eating the simple sugar butter bread. Ahh, I'm hungry.

Ikebukuro Metropolitan Exit, South Exit, West Exit, there is a crepe shop right near Gelato Pique that I've been curious about for a while, and I finally got to go. This time, I ordered a crepe with butter and sugar! It was really delicious with just the flavor of butter and the sweetness of sugar! It's simple but surprisingly delicious! The store has no indoor seating, only a terrace, but as long as it's not raining, it should be fine with the warm stove. I want to eat it again. #Gelato Pique #Gelato Pique Cafe #Crepe #Ikebukuro Cafe #Ikebukuro Gourmet

I was actually planning to go to a different shop, but ended up buying something unexpected, so I had to put that plan on hold. However, going straight home seemed boring, so I decided to visit this place that I had been wanting to go to for a while. In Japan, moist crepes are common, but I prefer the crispy hot French crepes that are freshly baked. Places like Cocorico Crepe Shop in Kamakura and VIRON in Shibuya are representative examples. I heard that the crepes here also offer the same freshly baked crispy texture, so I was curious to try them. I have tried to visit this place multiple times before, but never made it there. On this day when I had some time, I decided to wander around and finally found it. It's located in a corner of Lumine, but you can't access it from inside the store. It has a crepe stand-like atmosphere outside. I was prepared to wait in line for this popular place, but surprisingly there was only one group ahead of me. I ordered a simple crepe with butter and sugar for 580 yen and a piccolo latte for 540 yen. After placing my order at the counter, I waited for my crepe to be cooked at the terrace seating area. The crepe was crispy and topped with plenty of Echire butter and powdered sugar. I like this simple combination because you can really taste the deliciousness of the crepe dough. Since there's no cream, it's not heavy and you can enjoy it easily. You get to savor both the crispy top and the moist bottom of the crepe. I enjoyed my leisurely weekend moment with a gentle latte. I tried to go back another day, but my poor sense of direction prevented me from finding it again. I hope to conquer it and enjoy it again in the future.

I visited the restaurant in the early afternoon at the end of the year. Unfortunately, the crepe I wanted, the bear crepe, was sold out. So, I decided to try the sugar and butter crepe that caught my attention in the reviews. It was incredibly delicious and addictive. I visited again later and tried the same crepe along with the "comple" which is a ham and cheese savory crepe. The comple had a satisfying taste with ham, cheese, and egg melting together. The crepes here have a crispy top and a chewy bottom. Definitely worth a try! ☺

I finally tried the crepe at the Gelato Pique Cafe that I had been wanting to visit. I chose the "Butter and Sugar Crepe." The crepe was soft and chewy, with a wonderful buttery flavor, and the sugar seemed to have melted. It was really delicious! Next time, I want to try the one with whipped cream on top.

Before, this cafe used to be a hidden gem with relatively few people even on holidays (since the location is a bit hard to find), but recently it's been crowded even on weekdays, which made me wonder why. But on this day, the mystery was solved! From November 25th to December 31st, they are selling limited edition menu items for the Happy Holiday season, such as crepes and hot drinks with super cute bear designs. However, my favorite at Gelato Pique Cafe is the crepe with Échiré butter and sugar, so on this day I had that crepe along with an ice cream Gelato Pique Latte. The crepes here are crispy and delicious when hot. And the butter and sugar crepe, made with Échiré butter and crunchy sugar only, is not too sweet, light, and simply delicious. However, this cafe only has terrace seating, and even though they have several large outdoor heaters, it was still quite cold this season, so it's best to eat quickly.
