On Saturday at 8:00, I entered Shimizu Tachiba as soon as it opened. There was one more group that came in later. I sat at a table in the back of the room. It was a calming space. Today's meal was 1,500 yen and included a main dish, 3 side dishes, clay pot cooked rice, pickles, and miso soup. I could choose between simmered flounder or dried Atka mackerel. I chose the flounder, which was recommended by the staff. I was excitedly waiting for my meal. There were also options like grilled fish breakfast for 1,000 yen and beef tendon curry for 1,200 yen. Two more groups came in later, and by 8:20, the restaurant was full with some people being turned away. The owner was friendly and engaging, even speaking English fluently to communicate with foreign guests. The child-sized flounder had a satisfying taste, and each side dish had its own unique flavor, making the breakfast enjoyable and delicious. However, since the owner runs the restaurant alone, it's best to plan for about an hour from entering to leaving. There was a regular customer, the owner of a well-known restaurant, at the reserved table that day. It's a popular place. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Located just a short walk from the bustling street filled with tourists heading towards Kiyomizu-dera Temple, this cafe is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood that feels completely different. Housed in a 90-year-old renovated machiya, the exterior looks like a regular house without the entrance curtain and sign. Inside, the space is cozy with white walls and dark brown accents, featuring a counter, table seating, and a small raised area with a small garden at the back. I ordered a Wenzhou mandarin orange juice and the pound cake of the day, which was a mix of chocolate and matcha flavors. The cake was soft and crumbly, with a delicate texture that released the subtle hints of matcha and chocolate with each bite. The mandarin orange juice was smooth and rich, with a refreshing citrus aroma and a slightly sweet taste that was still easy to drink. It seems that this place also functions as a guesthouse called Shimizu-juku, as the opening and closing times are relatively early.

I used it for breakfast! It's a very popular place, so you should line up before it opens. I had a wonderful morning ^ ^

You have the business hours wrong! According to Twitter, they open at 11 am on weekdays. Be careful.
