I had yakisoba mix, and my friend had butatama okonomiyaki. The restaurant is located on the east side of the street going down from Kitayama Shimokamo Chudori, about 50 meters south from Kitayama Station. It's around the area of Kyoto Concert Hall. They are open until 1:00 AM, which is convenient for late-night dining. We shared the yakisoba, ordering a large portion. For the okonomiyaki, we chose okonomiyaki sauce with mayonnaise. My friend also ordered the butter-grilled fu. I was worried that it might be crowded on a Friday night, but luckily it was empty. The calm, Japanese-style interior has a counter with 14 seats on the left and a raised seating area with 12 seats (3 tables) on the right. The menu offers a variety of options, with over 70 dishes including okonomiyaki, yakisoba, omelets, rice dishes (ochazuke, grilled onigiri, etc.), side dishes (teppanyaki), and more. The owner and a man with a shaved head handle the cooking. You can watch them prepare your food at the counter. The yakisoba mix has plenty of bonito flakes, with small shrimp, squid, pork, cabbage, onions, and no eggs. The okonomiyaki is generously topped with sauce and mayonnaise, with lots of bonito flakes, plenty of cabbage, and eggs. The butter-grilled fu is made with three types of small-sized fu in green, yellow, and beige, with a delicate flavor of butter and salt. This restaurant also offers lunch options for under 1,000 yen, with a focus on fried foods and side dishes, so I would like to visit for lunch sometime.
