On the way up the slope towards Kiyomizu-dera, there is a dumpling shop. I happened to pass by, so I went in! "Excuse me! A family aiming for Kiyomizu-dera!" "Welcome! We have limited edition dumplings and bracken rice cakes!" "Please wait a moment." Oh, this slope looks like a good workout! There are so many people heading to Kiyomizu-dera, as expected! If only Himeji Castle could be turned into a tourist spot like this. I ate the bracken rice cake first... *bite* Wow! Delicious! So rich and creamy! Next, I tried the SAKURA dumpling... *bite* Wow! Delicious! These cute dumplings are great! Oh, but Kiyomizu-dera is really overcrowded. The stage is overflowing with people. I feel like at some point, the wooden foundation might break, and someone might unexpectedly jump off the Kiyomizu stage. The first installment of eating around Kyoto's Kiyomizu-dera seems to be thriving. I ordered a rice cake with mentaiko and was surprised at how well the mentaiko and rice cake went together. I love mentaiko so I was happy to make this new discovery. I want to try other things next time. Thank you for the meal.

I walked from Kyoto Station to Kiyomizu Temple and felt the need for a drink, so I bought one. I was surprised to see that there were options for sweetened and unsweetened green tea. I wondered if it was for overseas tourists. I was also interested in the lemonade, but I chose tea because I was thirsty. The tea was surprisingly good for the shop's appearance. The rice cake was a bit hard. If you expect it to be soft, you might be disappointed. The taste was average.

On the way back from Kiyomizu-dera, I tried the limited-time New Year's rabbit dumplings to go. They looked cute, but the filling was very sweet and the dumplings were a bit hard. It's close to Kiyomizu-dera, so I think it's just right for snacking while walking around.

The chilled Mitarashi dango was delicious. There were various types of dango and the interior of the shop was clean. It had a Korean-like atmosphere. The dango itself was average.

I was attracted by the appearance and decided to purchase it. I don't really like jelly. Regular rice cakes.
