The cafe has a liberating atmosphere with stylish Asian-inspired decor. You can enjoy a resort-like feeling as if you were overseas. The Green Curry was very spicy but rich and creamy. The delicious taste is addictive. It was also great that dogs are allowed inside the cafe.

A very atmospheric restaurant. The interior was stylish and made me want to imitate it. The staff said, "Please take your time," with a smile, and I had a relaxing time. The lunch was around 1500 yen or more. It was delicious, but it was a bit tough because it was mainly just chicken and rice with a little bit of lettuce on top. Adding a 200 yen tea to make it 1850 yen for lunch seems like a price for tourists. We had a good time relaxing, but in terms of cost performance, it was a bit...

Today is Monday, and many places in Kyoto are closed on Mondays. I finally found a cafe and it turns out it was a filming location for the drama "Kyoufu Shinbun" (Newspaper of Terror). I can't remember which scene it was though. Anyway, there was no "terror" here, just enjoyed a delicious iced coffee. The cafe had an Asian theme with Asian decorations. Thank you for the meal!

In the past, when I used to live nearby, I often visited this shop. Even though it's a bit far now, I visited after a long time. Shaved ice. When I ordered the shaved ice on the menu, the friendly staff or owner greeted me and said, "Today we have Okinawan mango, would you like to try it?" Of course, I immediately agreed to the change. The shaved ice was topped with plenty of ripe mango. It was incredibly delicious. I am grateful for being able to visit today.

It was a disappointing lunch, so I decided to refresh my mouth with some shaved ice at this café located about a 5-minute walk from Kitayama Station. There are about 2 parking spaces available, so you can also come by car. The café has an open atmosphere, and when I looked at the Asian-inspired menu, I found that they only had one type of shaved ice available.
I ordered the Mango Coconut flavored shaved ice for 840 yen. The foam was coconut flavored, and underneath it was a rich mango gelato. Inside the shaved ice, there was also gelato, which was a nice touch. The gelato inside was sweet and tangy, making it a perfect palate cleanser. The ice was fluffy and overall, it was quite delicious shaved ice.
As I relaxed in the café, I felt like I was in a foreign country. Thank you for the meal.

The deciding factor was the four parking spaces in front of the store. The café, owned by someone who goes to Bali every year, is full of vintage tables, lighting, and rattan chairs, giving off a resort-like vibe. From the dishes to the food, everything has an Asian taste. All the desserts are homemade, with the most popular being "Bubur," a Balinese black rice dessert, which was sold out, so I tried the "Dadar," a crepe (840 yen), served on a Balinese banana leaf-shaped plate. It says it has Balinese sweet bean paste, but it's actually coconut sugar-cooked coconut. It has a tropical aroma and a unique fibrous texture, giving a foreign dessert vibe. It's quite delicious. The coffee (550 yen) is served in a cup and saucer shaped like a Frangipani flower, a symbol of Bali. The café is versatile, offering lunches around 1000 yen, à la carte options for dinner, and courses. The variety of alcohol makes it suitable for bar use as well. A convenient and stylish café that can be used in various ways.

*...take relax...*
The interior of the restaurant is decorated with a tropical theme, giving off a resort-like vibe. Vintage wooden tables and rattan chairs create an open and flexible space. Warm colored lighting adds to the exotic and moody ambiance.
*Thai Tea*
Served in an elephant-shaped pot, this Thai tea has a rich brown color reminiscent of vanilla with a sweet flavor and a fragrant aroma of barley. As time passes, the tea becomes stronger, allowing you to still taste the depth of the black tea even when milk is added.

I visited for lunch. I sat by the window, which was open and very refreshing. The food was spicy and the dishes were cute, making it a place where you can relax and stay for a while.

BBQ chicken sandwich with a drink for 980 yen. It's the kind of food you'd expect at a cafe. It was enough for me since I have a small appetite.

You can enjoy Bali coffee here. Shaved ice seems good in the summer.

Hello, this is Average! The 412th shaved ice review is for Cafe baligasi in Kitayama. They were considering whether to offer shaved ice year-round in mid-November, so they may have stopped offering it at this time. The restaurant itself is a Balinese cuisine restaurant. If you plan to visit for the shaved ice, I recommend checking beforehand.
This is the first shaved ice shop in Kyoto to offer foam shaved ice. They have two options: Mango Coconut foam shaved ice for 840 yen and Soy Milk foam shaved ice for 840 yen. I tried the Mango Coconut foam shaved ice this time. The ice is made from a Swan ice machine. The combination includes mango ice, coconut milk foam, mango sauce, and cassis ice. The coconut milk foam and mango sauce complemented each other perfectly. However, the temperature control of the ice and ice cream was not ideal. The ice was not shaved at the right temperature, and the ice cream was too hard. Also, the combination of cassis ice and mango was not the best.
The service was polite, the atmosphere was like a Balinese restaurant, and the prices were reasonable. The main focus of the restaurant is Balinese cuisine, so I recommend it for those who want to try that. The chef has great skills and potential, so with some improvements, this place could become a top-notch shaved ice spot.
Overall, the food is good, and the shaved ice has potential. It's worth checking out if you're interested in Balinese cuisine.

I had known about Cafe Baligashi in Kitayama for a long time, but I always just passed by without visiting. The trigger for finally deciding to go was the Espuma shaved ice. It says "First in Kyoto!" on the menu. I was particularly interested in the Soy Espuma, made with soy milk and topped with eggplant sauce. Yes, eggplant! And it's made with local Kamo eggplant. The shaved ice machine they use is Swan, which is quite authentic. The Soy Milk flavored Espuma shaved ice costs 900 yen. The ice is a bit crunchy but fine, with a smooth texture. The soy Espuma is light and fluffy, with a gentle taste that goes well with the lightly sprinkled cinnamon. The Kamo eggplant sauce is delicious, you wouldn't even know it's eggplant unless told. It's a shame that it's not mentioned on the menu, as it's a hidden gem. The base is mizore. I wish there was a bit more of the Espuma. There was a sorbet inside, maybe cassis? Haskap? But once you finish the surface, it's just mizore. I got a bit bored towards the end. Nevertheless, this is a rare place in the Kitayama area where you can enjoy shaved ice. Thank you for the meal.

I chose to use a cafe in the Kitayama area for the night. This place has a parking lot, which is convenient. About half of the customers were there for meals, and the other half for coffee. It's a convenient place where you can also drink alcohol. It's known for serving espuma shaved ice. I chose the Mango Coconut flavor, which has a light and refreshing texture. It even had ice cream inside, so I enjoyed it until the end. Although espuma shaved ice is no longer rare in Kyoto, this place has been serving it for a long time. They also have various limited-time menu items using the delicious fruits and vegetables in the area. If you're a fan of shaved ice, be sure to check out this place!

I had some errands in Kitayama and stopped by for lunch nearby. I ordered a plate with chicken on it (forgot the name) after looking at the menu. It came with a choice of drink, so I couldn't decide between regular coffee and Balinese coffee. I went with iced coffee in the end. When the plate arrived, it looked different from the photo. It had chicken that seemed to be sautéed, with crispy skin on top. The server even added a small piece of chicken skin to the plate, but it still didn't look quite like the picture... The portion of meat was quite small. Maybe it's closer to the authentic dish? It was a bit pricey at 1080 yen. My friend had the Balinese coffee, but when I took a sip, it was too gritty to drink. Maybe you're supposed to let the grounds settle and only drink from the top, but without any explanation, it's hard to know. The interior was very cute, though a bit too dim for my liking. The plants and lighting were lovely. If only it was a regular delicious cafe instead of trying to be Balinese...

We visited the restaurant on Saturday around noon with two people. The interior was cute, although not exactly Balinese style. The place was almost full, and even though there were only two of us, we were seated at a 5-6 seater sofa. We ordered the Balinese-style taco rice for 1400 yen, which came with a drink during lunchtime. I chose the Balinese-style hot coffee. My friend's order arrived first, and it was different from the picture, which was surprising. My taco rice had lots of vegetables, no minced meat, no onsen egg, and no cheese. It had a strong smell of fish sauce and tasted sour with a strong flavor of ponzu and shiso leaves. It was my first time trying "taco rice" like this. I like both flavors, but I didn't realize this was what Balinese-style taco rice meant. The coffee was not supposed to be stirred, but I did, and I couldn't finish it because of the powdery taste. It would have been nice if the staff had mentioned that. The dim lighting in the restaurant was good for relaxing on the sofa, but I found it too dark. For 1400 yen, I don't think I will visit again.

I visited this cafe & bar for lunch on my day off. It was not my first choice as the first place I wanted to go was quite crowded. This place is located a bit north of Inobun in Kitayama. It's a small cafe & bar that is always bustling with locals. There is a small parking lot where you can park if you have a light or big scooter, but it might be difficult for regular cars. I was told to choose any seat I liked, but I chose the counter as it was starting to get busy. The interior is subtly decorated with small items, and I was impressed by the Balinese atmosphere. I had the Mie Goreng lunch, which was delicious with the Manis sauce, if I remember correctly. It was surprisingly good and didn't feel like typical cafe food. However, the portion was a bit small. After the meal, I had Balinese coffee, which was like the original form of coffee. I should have added more sugar to it. If you like Southeast Asian cuisine, you might enjoy the food here to some extent. But the real value of this place may lie in using it as a cafe & bar. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I had passed by this restaurant before and was intrigued. I remembered how delicious the food was during my trip to Bali, so I was eager to try it out. This time, I ordered: - Satay assortment (Balinese-style grilled chicken) ... 1000 yen - Goykun (fresh spring rolls) ... 690 yen - Mie Goreng ... 880 yen - Balinese coffee ... 550 yen The atmosphere inside the restaurant was Bali-themed and quiet. It's perfect for a date or a girls' night out! The dishes were mainly chicken and vegetables, so it felt healthy. I definitely want to go back again!
