It is a service that matches the price. This is my first time here. I came while visiting Yasaka Shrine. I ordered the Koto Bento. There were both warm and cold dishes, and I calculated which ones would be tastier warm and which ones would be tastier cold. The simmered dish was especially delicious. I felt that this is a restaurant with a desire for improvement as they conduct customer surveys.

After visiting Yasaka Shrine, I went to the restaurant without a reservation. I was surprised to find hardly any other customers there. On the other hand, it was nice to be able to relax without a crowd. I ordered some food and plum wine, and took my time enjoying them. It was a bit strange to see so few customers, but it allowed me to rest my body.

I finished my 2-night work schedule as planned. I could go back to Nagoya now, but I feel like having dinner tonight. Maybe I should stay one more night. Let's see, what should I eat? Since I'm near Yasaka Shrine, I had ramen on the first day and takoyaki on the second day. Hmm, how about Japanese cuisine for tonight? I randomly walked into a nearby restaurant and was warmly welcomed. I selected a bento box shaped like a plum and was repeatedly told, "You can have seconds of rice." Is it okay to have seconds at a place like this? I took them up on their offer and had seconds. It was late at night, but they were so friendly and made me feel comfortable. I will never forget this moment in Kyoto. Thank you for the meal!

This is truly a renowned restaurant in Kyoto that has captivated customers for many years. The welcome was exceptional from the moment I arrived. Even though I was slightly late, as I passed through the curtain, I was greeted with "We have been waiting for you, Mr./Ms. ○○." It was my first visit, so I was surprised. The impression stayed with me until the end, and the wonderful hospitality without fading is what makes this restaurant a renowned establishment. It was a delightful dining experience that I haven't had in a long time.

When I went to the Gion Festival, a friend made a reservation for us at a charming restaurant near Yasaka Shrine. The meal was served by a young lady in a kimono, who was very polite and friendly. She answered our questions with a smile and made our experience enjoyable. I had always thought Kyoto cuisine was light in flavor, but the meat dishes were seasoned perfectly and very delicious.

From Hankyu Shijo Kawaramachi Station, on the way to the Kiyomizu Sannenzaka Museum, I stopped by a restaurant after being called out from across the curtain while walking and looking at the menu outside the shop. The restaurant was located at the southwest corner, heading towards Kiyomizu Temple, after exiting the south cherry blossom gate of Yasaka Shrine. The lunchtime restaurant had around 30-40 table seats, and despite it being lunchtime, I was the only one there. The tatami room had a few other customers. Today, there were many tourists, mostly school trips and tourists from overseas. I ordered the lunch set menu, "Koto Tenshin" for 3,477 yen, along with a glass of sweet potato shochu on the rocks for 891 yen. The meal included various dishes like appetizers, sashimi, simmered dish, fried dish, rice, pickles, and soup. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and delicately seasoned, making it delicious and easy to eat. There was an option for rice and soup refills. The dessert at the end was subtly sweet and enjoyable. The total bill, including food, service charge, and consumption tax, came to 5,999 yen. Overall, it was a satisfying meal at a reasonable price.

I went to Kennin-ji Temple for hatsumode and on the way back, I felt hungry so I decided to check out this restaurant that was open even on the 3rd of January. It's located right across from Nakamura-ro, so the location is convenient. It's a new restaurant that replaced the one that was there before. Since it's a popular tourist spot, most of the customers were tourists. Therefore, I didn't have high expectations for the Kyoto cuisine or the service. I ordered the recommended bento that was featured in a magazine. The taste was as expected - nothing outstanding, just average ingredients with average seasoning. The dashi was a bit weak. The bento looked nice visually though. They offer free rice refills so you won't go hungry. The only disappointment was the red miso soup. It was lukewarm and not enjoyable. It's easy to tell the quality of a restaurant from small details like this. I hope they can incorporate more thoughtfulness into their dishes, in line with Kyoto's hospitality. Maybe it's because the restaurant is still new, or maybe because it's in a touristy area, but I hope they can improve.
