I visited a shop that I was recommended a long time ago, but they only open once a week so it was hard to find a day that worked. Finally, I visited with about 4 people and there was a line. I quickly got inside and bought an American cherry pie (500 yen), an apricot tart (450 yen), whole wheat cookies (250 yen), regular cookies (250 yen), and a brownie (350 yen). The cookies were delicious, but I especially liked the apple pie and apricot tart because they had the type of flavors I enjoy. They have a wide variety of items, so I can enjoy visiting again next time.

I received a souvenir from a dining companion in Yamashina, Kyoto, and it was scones that can be frozen. I immediately tried one and it was delicious. I warmed it up in the oven toaster and enjoyed it with raclette, salad, and strawberries. The marmalade was made with Amami island sugar this year, giving it a unique color. I couldn't resist trying another one even though it was meant to be frozen.

Kyoto Yamashina, a bakery that opens once a week, always has a small line forming right before opening. The shop is small with limited space, so only one group can enter at a time. On the left side, you can see the kitchen where freshly baked scones are served. I was excited to try their delicious baked goods and purchased the following items:
- Apple Pie (480 yen)
- Cheesecake (400 yen)
- Whole Cut Cake (450 yen)
The Apple Pie is different from the usual, as it is a Dutch Apple Pie with a layer of apple compote topped with crumble. The tartness of the apples and the crispy crumble make it a delightful treat. They carefully select the type of apples depending on the season, using San Fuji apples at this time. The combination of sweet and sour in the apple compote with the crunchy crumble is simply delicious.
The Cheesecake was a creamy and moist New York-style cheesecake with a perfect balance of tanginess and sweetness.
The Whole Cut Cake was a unique blend of rhubarb, quince, and almond. The tartness of the rhubarb and quince, combined with the sweetness of the cake and the crunch of the almonds, created a harmonious and delicious cake.
Overall, the baked goods at this shop are truly delicious. Thank you for the wonderful treats!
