KIRARA
This month, I stayed in Kyoto and enjoyed a elegant afternoon tea time at Heian Shrine Kaikan. I had been wanting to go there for a while, so as soon as my Kyoto trip was decided, I made a reservation. The afternoon tea, blending Japanese and Western elements, is enjoyed while overlooking the national designated scenic garden "Shinen" in Kyoto. The Tiramisu with a Torii gate design, macarons served in lacquerware bowls, and other items evoke the elegance of Kyoto! The "Autumn Afternoon Tea" starting from September includes chestnut zenzai, warm mitarashi dango, fragrant peach-colored tea macarons, autumn fruit pate de fruits, refreshing grape jelly, smooth pumpkin pudding, homemade zarameshi castella, chestnut yokan, purple sweet potato mont blanc tart, Tiramisu made with Ujibashi Harumatsu Honke hojicha, apple meat pie, Maruju chips, autumn-colored arigo and campagne, moistly baked cake sale, and light sweet potato potage. This afternoon tea is available until the end of November, featuring a menu spread with autumn flavors like chestnuts, sweet potatoes, grapes, and apples. I particularly enjoyed the chestnut zenzai and the chewy texture of the mitarashi dango! I have visited Heian Shrine many times, but I didn't know that from the adjacent Heian Shrine Kaikan, you could enjoy such a wonderful garden view. At Heian Shrine Kaikan, you can relax and enjoy the lovely garden view, so I would love to visit again during the autumn foliage season. I have also shared this on Instagram, so please take a look!
