When you enter the prefectural botanical garden from the main gate, you will find a plaza on your left after walking for about 5 minutes. If you continue walking, you will see a small hut on your right, which is the Forest Cafe. The menu is typical of park facilities, with the highlight being gelato. Here is the process: ① Purchase a meal ticket from the ticket machine in front of the shop ② Enter and turn right. Line up at the gelato specialty counter, hand the meal ticket to the staff, and inform them of your flavor choice (Rose & Raspberry, Vanilla Milk, Matcha, White Peach Sorbet, Alphonso Mango, Musk Melon). Only cones are available. No questions will be asked. ③ Dispose of trash by separating it at the order counter and the outdoor trash cans. The Rose & Raspberry gelato has a strong raspberry flavor with a hint of rose fragrance. The gelato has a smooth texture, and the default spoon is convenient. The combination with the cone was not the best, maybe vanilla would have been a better choice. Enjoying gelato with the open sky and clouds in front of the grassy plaza is a luxurious experience. It's a great way to relax and enjoy the botanical garden. The only downside is the parking fee. There are various options for lunch around, such as Brian for around 2000 yen, Katsuzen for a hearty meal, Capital Toyo-tei for a special experience, or In the Green for casual pizza and pasta. There are also popular souvenirs like Marbland, Ciel Blue, and Shinshindo to choose from. I recommend visiting the market inside the botanical garden for events, or the Ceramic Plate Print Museum for art lovers.

I think it was renovated into a stylish cafe called "Forest Cafe" with a new look. It is a casual dining and cafe corner in the botanical garden. It was hot that day, so I took out the Rose & Raspberry gelato and enjoyed it on the terrace. At first, the rose flavor was a bit overwhelming, but I gradually got used to it and surprisingly finished it deliciously.

On the second day of my trip to Kyoto, I checked out of the hotel and drove to the Kyoto Botanical Garden. The parking lot is paid but spacious and easy to park. I decided to have lunch at the first cafe I came across in the park, called Mori no Cafe. You order at a vending machine in this self-service cafe. The front is surrounded by a lawn, creating a nice atmosphere. I ordered Tempura Udon for 530 yen and Forest Boar Curry for 710 yen. It's rare to find game meat on the menu, including deer curry. The taste was simple, so I didn't have high expectations, but I think the cost performance is good. There is another Italian restaurant at the edge of the park, so I might try that next time.

I went to a refreshing day at the dentist in Kitayama, and I have no other plans, so I went to the botanical garden, my favorite place. I love the weeping cherry tree, the greenhouse, and the pleasant smell. I walked alone, stepping on the dry leaves and enjoying the crunchy sound. I'm glad I came after all. I live in a mountain village, so it's lush green, but I also love well-maintained parks. I can spend every day surrounded by things I love, and that makes me happy. There are various things, but walking and choosing what I love is the best. I drank tea soda at the café in front of the square because I was thirsty. It looked like an elementary school field trip. It seemed fun. I walked to the greenhouse, which I have always loved. I used to love the small tropical botanical garden in Kobe the most, but it's gone now. I walked to the other side and took a bus to the city from Kitaoji intersection, leaving my car at Kitayama exit. I love the city too, so I went to the department store, bought enamel shoes, and felt happy. I've always worn sneakers, so I decided to change my style a bit. I wonder when I should wear them. A happy day.

Cafe in Kyoto Botanical Garden. I used it for a break. Fruit tea soda ¥550. Tea soda with lots of frozen fruits inside. It was a very hot day, so I enjoyed it in the cool indoor while looking at the spacious lawn square.

A cafe in the Kyoto Botanical Gardens serving light meals and various flavors of ice cream. The cafe is conscious of COVID-19 measures with open windows and acrylic barriers. The terrace seating is available for those who don't mind the weather. The botanical gardens are a favorite spot with beautiful flowers and plants changing with the seasons. The cafe offers typical park food like noodles and the popular rose & raspberry ice cream with a subtle rose flavor. The process of ordering and disposing of trash can be a bit confusing, but overall a pleasant experience.

I came to Tsuchi Kyoto. I attended Maiko Ishigami's violin recital. I arrived early, so I visited the botanical garden next door. I had some soft serve ice cream. It was delicious! I ordered rose-flavored soft serve ice cream for 380 yen (including tax). Thank you for the meal. Vn: Maiko Ishigami.

I visited the Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Garden and then stopped by this cafe. They offer light meals, but their gelato seems to be quite popular. I tried the sakura gelato and it was delicious! It had a subtle sakura flavor that reminded me of sakura mochi. Don't underestimate this cafe just because it's in a botanical garden!

This is a cafe located inside the Kyoto Botanical Garden, directly connected to the subway station "Kitayama" in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto City. The Kyoto Botanical Garden was the first public botanical garden in Japan, opened in 1924. It was closed for 12 years due to being requisitioned by the Allied Forces in 1946, but reopened in 1961. The entrance fee is surprisingly cheap at 200 yen, and the garden covers a vast area with various themed areas housing around 12,000 species and 120,000 plants. The cafe, called Mori no Cafe, offers drinks, gelato, udon, curry, hamburgers, and other light meals at very reasonable prices. The cafe has a cozy atmosphere with wooden chairs and tables, and the open terrace seating provides a great view of the beautifully landscaped lawn. It's a dreamy place for nature lovers, with a healing effect from the earthy scents. After exploring the garden and enjoying the impressive greenhouse, I found happiness in spending time at this cafe. The 250 yen iced tea was a delightful treat, and despite wanting to try the sweets, I was too full from a previous afternoon tea. Overall, it was a lovely experience to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Kyoto truly has amazing places like this, and I was impressed by the convenience of having such a peaceful spot right next to the subway station.

Located inside the Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Garden, this cafe or dining area offers udon, soba, curry rice, gyudon, Chinese rice bowl, hamburgers, and more. Prices range from 450 yen for udon or soba. The family-friendly facility offers reasonably priced meals. The deer curry costs 710 yen. You order with a ticket and wait for about 2 minutes. The portion is modest but the curry is original with a nice spice level. The deer meat has a texture similar to lean beef and is not too gamey. Overall, it was delicious. Other menu items are mostly reheated, but considering the prices, they are acceptable. After finishing the curry, I had gelato for 380 yen. I tried the vanilla flavor, and it was surprisingly delicious. It was rich and creamy, resistant to melting even in the summer. I highly recommend the gelato! Thank you for the meal.

Located right by Kitayama Station, this restaurant inside the Kyoto Botanical Gardens has also reopened. They offer a variety of menu items such as soba noodles, flour dishes, pasta, wild boar curry, deer curry, sweets, and more. They have a ticket system and terrace seating available. I tried the Forest Gelato with rose and raspberry flavors this time. The aroma is similar to geranium and it really lifted my spirits. While looking at Mt. Hiei through the roses, I thought about famous rose gardens all over Japan. Please note that unlike IN THE GREEN located outside the botanical gardens, this restaurant can only be accessed by visitors inside the gardens.

Suspicious Gourmet Expedition in Kyoto. Enjoying the autumn leaves in Kyoto. It's beautiful but crowded on the weekends. So, we decided to visit the Prefectural Botanical Garden. As expected, there weren't many people, and we were able to enjoy the autumn leaves. Now, even in such a botanical garden, we did some foodie activities. We took a break at a cafe called "Forest Cafe" inside the park. I had a coffee (250 yen). Of course, the coffee in a place like this is decent, but being a prefectural facility, the price was very reasonable. Enjoying coffee while looking out the window is a good experience.

When I went to Kyoto for work, I visited the Kyoto Botanical Garden during my free time. It was a scorching hot day, so I took a break at a restaurant nearby. I visited the restaurant around 10:50 am on a Sunday. The restaurant is located almost in the center of the Kyoto Botanical Garden. It is a long, one-story building with a somewhat plain exterior. The interior of the restaurant had a casual and bright atmosphere. There were several four-person tables and counter seats facing the windows. There was also outdoor terrace seating. When I visited, there were about 4-5 other groups of customers, including two middle-aged women, a middle-aged man dining alone, and a young man dining alone. The restaurant operates on a food ticket system and self-service basis, with a ticket machine located near the entrance. The menu includes soba, udon, curry rice, pilaf, pasta, rice bowls, okonomiyaki, soft drinks, and more, all at reasonable prices. I ordered the "Tropical Juice (Mango) for 310 yen," and my companion ordered the "Tropical Juice (Passion Fruit) for 310 yen." We handed our food tickets to the counter and were served promptly. The juices were likely foreign-made packaged products (similar to those sold in liquor stores). The taste was average, but they were very cold and refreshing. It helped cool us down from the heat. By the way, the Kyoto Botanical Garden is well-maintained and has a great collection of plants. The displays in the observation greenhouse were particularly impressive. I recommend it to plant lovers!

Cafe in the botanical garden. It's a stylish place, but it's an old-fashioned self-service food court. The menu features classic dishes. I found the Forest Deer Curry and ordered it. I also had Rose & Raspberry Gelato. The deer meat was tender and mild, with no gamey taste. The gelato was very rose-flavored.

Kyoto is in the season of cherry blossoms. While the botanical garden offers something to see all year round, cherry blossoms are truly special. Having lunch while gazing at the cherry blossoms is an unbeatable experience. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from the food, but then I came across wild boar curry and I was instantly intrigued (laughs). The taste is a well-cooked European-style curry with a hint of wild boar flavor that matches perfectly. While having a picnic in the garden is nice, this spot was a lifesaver for someone like me who didn't come prepared. I definitely want to visit again next year during cherry blossom season.

I decided to visit the Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Garden, as I have never been there before. The cherry blossoms are already gone, and it's still too early for roses, so I wonder what kind of flowers are there. You can get to the garden by taking the JR Kyoto Station (Kintetsu "Kyoto Station", Hankyu "Karasuma Station"), then taking the Kyoto Municipal Subway to "Kitayama Station" and exiting from exit 3, or by taking the subway to "Kitaoji Station" and walking east for about 10 minutes. It was lunchtime, so I decided to look for a place to eat along the shopping street from Kitaoji Station. However, everywhere was crowded due to the lunch hour, so I ended up having my lunch inside the botanical garden. The entrance fee to the garden is 200 yen. Inside, I had lunch at the Forest Cafe. Since it was a Sunday, the garden was crowded with many people. The cafe was also busy, with a line forming for orders and a struggle to find a seat. I ordered the Kitsune Udon, which was quick and easy. The udon was a bit soft and lacked firmness. There were also a lot of curry dishes being served. I think bringing a bento box and eating it on the grass would be the most delicious way to enjoy the food here! We didn't plan for it, so we had the udon, but on a sunny day, having a picnic atmosphere would be the best. For those who don't like walking, getting off at Kitayama Station will bring you directly to the botanical garden. Please go out on a sunny day! (^-^)ノ∠※。.:*:・'°☆o(^o^)o

This is a small dining area or rest stop within the Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Garden. If you want to have a proper meal, I recommend going to places like In the Green outside. During weekdays around lunchtime, it was bustling with elderly people. You buy food tickets from the ticket machine outside the entrance and hand them over at the counter inside. They offer free water as well as bottled drinks, canned drinks, and ice cream for sale inside. The menu includes udon, soba, hotcakes, grilled rice balls, and oden. Apart from boiling udon and soba, the rest of the food is reheated retort pouches in the microwave. It's okay for personal consumption, but might be a little hesitant for children. It's warm in winter and cool in summer, a place to take a break during your stroll in the botanical garden.

I stopped by after walking about 13,000 steps since morning. I am at the central square of the Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Garden, located at the northern end. Normally, you would have to pay the entrance fee to enter the botanical garden. However, on this day, it was free to enter due to the Kyoto Marathon. The botanical garden sometimes offers guided tours for an additional fee, and I decided to join one on this day. Since it's the season, I saw the buds on the trees. The tour lasted a little over an hour. Now, I am buying a ticket from the vending machine and taking a short break. A cup of hot coffee cost 210 yen. It's refreshing to sit here and watch the people gathering in the square. Let's take another look at the early spring flower exhibition.
