Resting on the first day of the Kansai trip in August 2018. After a quick bite to eat, headed to sightseeing in Kyoto (^o^)/ It was a hot day, so we only walked a little before getting sweaty. Stopped by the Yasaka Koshindo temple to pray, and that's when we found a soft serve ice cream shop ♬ Normally I wouldn't go, but the gold leaf soft serve and the five-story pagoda seemed Instagram-worthy, so I bought it ♬ Gold leaf soft serve (chocolate) for 980 yen including tax, with a senbei cracker of the pagoda included. The taste was nothing special, but the next review will definitely be Instagram-worthy ♡

I lost my phone, so I can only share my draft... It's depressing to lose memories. Anyway, on this day, I wore a yukata and went sightseeing in Kyoto. I visited the popular photo spot, Yasaka Koshindo, where I saw these colorful and cute "kukuri saru" monkeys with their limbs tied up. After finishing my visit, I found a gold leaf soft serve ice cream, which was quite expensive but delicious. Then, I tried a photogenic dessert for 1000 yen, which was a sweet and light rice cracker with matcha soft serve. It was good, but I prefer less sweetness. Overall, it was a fun experience to indulge in these treats at a tourist spot.

When you go down from Nene-no-Michi to Hokan-ji Temple (Yasaka no To), you will find some great angles along the way. If you continue straight ahead with Hokan-ji Temple on your right, you will come across a shop at the corner of the road adjacent to the temple. Their specialty is Gold Leaf Soft Serve (980 yen). A couple was ordering it, looking very dignified and ready for an Instagram-worthy treat. I wanted to try it too! However, what I ended up getting was a Mitarashi Dango for 150 yen each. It was not your typical grilled dango with a burnt exterior, but rather freshly made and chewy. The sauce had a subtle soy sauce flavor with a prominent sweetness. It was a reasonably delicious dango. Next time... if I have the chance, I'll go for the Gold Leaf Soft Serve... well, if I have the chance, that is. Thank you for the meal.
