I have been a customer of Ramen Restaurant Kikairitei for about 20 years now. I believe that it was not as widely spread across the country 20 years ago. When I first tried their Negi (green onion) Ramen, it was a shocking experience. The ramen came with a huge pile of Kujo Negi (a type of green onion), which surprised me. The customer next to me was also amazed, haha. In my opinion, Kikairitei is the best for their Shio (salt) Ramen. So, after a long time, I visited Kikairitei again. I was seated at the counter and in front of me was a touch panel. They had introduced touch panels without me realizing it. I ordered the hearty B set meal (1,280 yen) which came with ramen, karaage (fried chicken), and fried rice. For the ramen, I chose firm noodles, strong soy sauce flavor, extra negi, and fatty chashu. You can choose between regular or fatty chashu. I used to ask for half regular and half fatty, but the touch panel did not have that option. I think if you ask the staff directly, they can make it half and half for you. It's a shame that you can't choose extra back fat. The ramen had thin noodles and was delicious. The fried rice had a nice soy sauce flavor. The karaage was well seasoned. I asked the staff for garlic and mayonnaise, and they brought it to me. I like to add garlic to my ramen for an extra kick, and I put mayonnaise on the karaage. It was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the delicious food.

I heard that they started serving cold noodles at Rairaitei, so I went to try it. It was a Sunday afternoon and there were about 5 groups waiting outside, but now you can pre-order using a touch panel terminal while waiting outside the restaurant. This was my first time trying cold noodles at Rairaitei, and I realized that they serve "cold noodles" instead of "cold Chinese noodles." Well, it was delicious, but I found that the noodles and sauce didn't mix well... I think I prefer "cold Chinese noodles" after all...

Every year, I wonder about it, but before I know it, that person is gone☆ This year is the start dash! Oh, the interior has been renovated. They got rid of the raised seating and switched to digital menus. I ordered the cold noodles for 850 yen, a dish that I wouldn't usually order. It took a bit of time to be served. It had diced char siu and cucumber. The thick noodles provided a satisfying chewiness. The cold noodles were delicious, but I wish they had a bit more of their own unique touch. Adding pork fat might be too much to ask for, though!

Sometimes you need something rich and a bit salty, with a soup that has a sharp edge. The solution is fat! Add extra fatty pork slices and chant the magic spell "Aburami". What a wonderful combination of increased meat and specific cuts! It creates an incredibly delicious bowl. Wrap the sharpness in fat! It's the ultimate match. Give it a try!

I remember eating at Ramen Kairakutei before near Kawasaki. It was definitely delicious, but just average in my opinion. This time, I tried a restaurant closer to the original Kairakutei and it was much tastier. The base of the soup is similar, but maybe it depends on the restaurant? The Kairakutei I tried this time was really delicious. The chicken bone soup base and seasoning are gentle and not overwhelming, with the addition of back fat making it not too light, and a slightly spicy kick that stimulates the appetite. The noodles are a perfect match with the soup, as they lift up the soup well with each bite, creating a harmonious experience. Don't underestimate chain restaurants. I can see why they are expanding nationwide. Kairakutei in Kyoto, you're amazing (laughs)

I came back again because the two-day free ticket distribution is amazing! I decided to try something I haven't eaten before. I chose the Miso Ramen for 820 yen. It may be a simple option, but it's delicious! It's a shame that there is no butter topping. I also found it disappointing that they stopped the special extra pork fat option. I want to try it with miso butter, extra pork fat, nori, and toppings next time!

There is no Raikairou near my home or workplace, so I stopped by when I returned to Yamashina. I heard before that "Raikairou's cold noodles are delicious." I really wanted to eat ramen, but it was only available in the summer, so I ordered the cold noodles. When I ordered the cold noodles, the staff asked me, "Is the regular one okay?" Apparently there is a "regular" and a "special" version (I didn't notice that). The "special" version comes with egg and kimchi. Since it was my first time, I chose the "regular" one. The staff also asked, "Are you okay with spicy mustard?" and I said, "Yes." It took quite a while for the food to arrive. My father, who was with me, ordered his usual miso ramen. The miso ramen has thick noodles, but the noodles in the cold noodles were so thick that I thought, "It must take a long time to boil these." The noodles had a good chewy texture and were satisfying to eat. On top of the thick noodles were cucumber, char siu, and chopped seaweed, which looked a bit plain. The spicy mustard was already mixed into the broth. I didn't feel much spiciness. The broth was on the sweeter side. I started to get a little tired of it halfway through, so I added some vinegar. I'll probably go back to eating ramen next time.

It's been over 10 years since I last visited here! I went on a weekday just before 12 o'clock. There was only one table available in the tatami room and two seats at the counter. Luckily, I was seated right away. Since the world has been tough due to COVID, my father has stopped going out to eat even when I invite him. Today, we were shopping nearby and he agreed to eat out if there was no wait. It's been about 2 years since I last ate out. My father always orders miso ramen no matter which ramen shop we go to. I ordered a small size with extra green onions. The soup seemed a bit lighter than the ramen I've had at other Kairakutei locations, so I ended up adding a lot of pepper. It's still a popular spot. It was packed during lunchtime.

Yamashina visited several different locations of the restaurant chain called Rairaitei along the Jujyo street, and although the layout of the shops is exactly the same, each shop has a slightly different atmosphere and taste. Among the various Rairaitei locations visited, this particular one has the least flavorful dishes. They should be aiming for the same taste, but it seems to fall short here.

I visited the restaurant on Saturday evening, August 31, 2019. The parking lot was quite full, as it is shared with other shops, but the restaurant itself was empty. I ordered the rich ramen with firm noodles, extra green onions, strong flavor, and extra lard. I added garlic and plenty of spice for a delicious meal. Despite being a chain restaurant commonly seen in various regions, I was reminded that Ramen Nagi is one of the top ramen shops.

Oh, the sound of a "free voucher" is amazing, isn't it? I couldn't resist and ended up coming here! It's 3 PM and it's definitely crowded. But no worries, I managed to snag a counter seat. Now, I don't want to just order the usual, so I went for this dish that I tend to like - the "Wontanmen (noodles with wontons) in regular size." It costs 720 yen, plus an additional 100 yen for tax. It comes with about 5 wontons, which I highly recommend. For an extra 100 yen, you can add some tamago (egg), which adds a nice touch. In this case, I recommend ordering the noodles firm for a chewy texture. The combination of wontons and firm noodles is just delicious! I also managed to get the free voucher, so thank you! Once again, I recommend the tamago with the wontanmen!

I went to my cousin's favorite restaurant, Rairaitei, with my cousin. This time, we shared a rich ramen with chashu and boiled egg toppings, a half-fried rice set, and pork shabu-shabu. We asked for extra green onions, and they gave us a lot, which made us very happy.

I came to Rai Rai Tei after a long time. Prices are going up everywhere. That's unavoidable. But they removed the option for extra back fat. That's a decrease in service quality. Thank you for the meal.

When it comes to food in Kyoto, Gyoza no Ohsho is a well-known place, but when it comes to ramen in Kyoto, this restaurant doesn't have much history, but I've been going there a lot recently because it's close to my parents' house. This place, Lai Lai Tei, has a good location. There's a popular ice cream shop called Rikaman in the same area, and across the street, there's a Matsuya Supermarket that has been expanding its stores recently. The menu also includes dishes that kids love, so when in doubt, I often come here. This time, I ordered their specialty, Negi Ramen with a lot of green onions piled on top. I always order the rich ramen with extra green onions. Unlike some ramen shops where you can add as many green onions as you want, here you get a good amount. The creamy tonkotsu ramen was comforting and delicious as always. I also had some gyoza. I'll definitely visit again when I return to Kyoto.

I always crave the ramen from this place on a regular basis. The taste remains consistent, but each store adds various innovations to their side menu, making it exciting to visit each time. Whether it's curry ramen, crispy cheese, or Chinese-style ramen, I appreciate the effort put into creating different options. There are many stores in Kyoto, so you can find one no matter where you are. I am grateful for the consistent taste and the excellent customer service. I visited RaiRaiTei for the first time in a while. RaiRaiTei opened about 20 years ago in Yasu, Shiga Prefecture (now Yasu City) and I was always fascinated by their Kujyo Negi mountain-sized Negi Ramen back then. They have now expanded to over 250 stores nationwide through franchising and their unique system of dividing the business. I ordered the fried rice set for 840 yen, with the noodles firm and extra Negi. The ramen had thin noodles and the soy sauce chicken broth, perfected by the president's wife's palate, was truly outstanding! It felt a bit salty this time, maybe because it's been a while. The fried rice was fluffy and had a dashi and soy sauce base that I enjoyed. Even though it was just before 11 pm, there were still a few other customers in the restaurant. It's great that they stay open late. Thank you for the delicious meal!

When you think of Ramen, you think of RaRaTei! I didn't know they had miso ramen. And it's thick noodles! I felt like eating it, so I went during my break. The Yamashina branch in my work area! It's easy to get in and out along Shinjuku Street. RaRaTei has good customer service. I've been to several branches and the service is always great. I ordered the miso ramen with extra green onions. It arrived quickly without a long wait. It has a lot of sesame seeds. The pork fat is pretty good. The thick noodles were just okay. I still recommend the soy sauce ramen!

This is the Yamashina Shintenjo branch of Rairai-tei. I visited during lunchtime on a holiday. The restaurant is located near the Yamashina IC on the Kyoto Expressway, near the Oishi Shrine intersection. It is housed in a building shared with Liquor Mountain, among others. The exterior of the restaurant is white, which may not seem very Rairai-tei-like at first glance. It might be easy to miss for first-time visitors. There is a parking lot in front of the restaurant. Inside, the restaurant has the basic layout of Rairai-tei, with counter seats and tatami seating. The service at the restaurant is friendly without being overly enthusiastic, making it a comfortable place to dine. The menu mainly features ramen in tonkotsu shoyu style, with options like rich, miso, salt, cold noodles, and spicy noodles. There is a high degree of customization available for toppings and sizes, which can affect the price. There are also a variety of side dishes and set menus. On this day, I ordered the Chashu Ramen for 770 yen. When ordering, they asked about preferences for noodle firmness and amount of back fat, and I requested everything to be normal. The ramen that arrived had a generous amount of chashu on top. The soup had plenty of back fat and a hint of spice floating on top, with toppings of green onions, bamboo shoots, and chashu. When tasting the soup, I could feel the richness of the chicken bone broth and the perfect balance of soy sauce flavor. The unexpected amount of back fat added a hint of sweetness, but the spice helped to balance the aftertaste. The noodles were thin and low-water straight noodles, cooked slightly soft, which I personally enjoyed. They clumped together a bit, making it a bit difficult to lift, but they paired well with the soup. The chashu slices were plentiful and well-balanced in terms of lean and fatty meat, making them a great addition to the noodles and soup. The large portion left me feeling satisfied. Overall, the balance of flavors was excellent, and Rairai-tei's ramen was indeed delicious. The service was friendly and created a cozy atmosphere. I hope they continue to do well in the future.
