▪️Shop Name [TSUBASA COFFEE]
When you think of Shinjuku Gyoenmae, this shop comes to mind first, but today I visited because the seasonal limited edition pudding has been changed to matcha flavor. It was a weekday Tuesday morning, so the counter was available and I could enter right away. *On weekends, the shop can be quite crowded with a line outside.

*The morning pudding can only be eaten in the morning, so be aware. The base is the same as before, a firm and chewy pudding filled with a solid center, giving a sense of volume when chewed. The taste is a gentle matcha flavor with a slight bitterness, a refined sweetness with sakura ice cream on top. The saltiness of the pickled cherry blossom salt on top is pleasant. The black sugar caramel has a natural sweetness and richness, coexisting well with the other ingredients without overpowering them. While chatting with Mr. Kamijuu about the ramen shop next door, Afro Beats, it was revealed that the female staff had already visited. It's a delicious chicken white broth, so I recommend everyone to try it. Although I keep eating pudding, Tsubasa Coffee actually has a wide variety of cakes. Next time, I'll aim for those!

I visited the restaurant on a Monday holiday around 11:30 am. There were already 4 groups lined up, and we were able to enter around 12:30 pm. When we placed our order, the first thing that arrived was the drink. The sudachi squash was refreshing and delicious! The roast beef sandwich had a crispy and fluffy bread, with a hint of sweetness, and it was very tasty. The combination of kinpira, mustard sauce, and roast beef was absolutely delicious! They went together perfectly! The "Sweet Tooth Trio" is recommended for those who love sweet treats and want to enjoy a variety of them at once! The fig cake had a subtle sweetness overall, with a rich cheesecake-like flavor, and it was very delicious and easy to eat. The pudding was firm and had a strong egg flavor. The red bean butter brioche had a delicious brioche and the red bean butter complemented it perfectly. It was just so delicious!!! I definitely want to visit again!

In 2021, a cafe opened about a 5-minute walk from Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line Shinjuku Gyoenmae Station. The eye-catching puddings, parfaits, and hearty breakfast sets have become popular, with even queues forming on weekdays. Upon entering the store, you'll feel like you're in a nostalgic coffee shop, with a relaxed atmosphere. It's nice to have a calming place like this amidst the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku.
- Kinpira and Roast Beef (Half): 1800 yen
The bread itself is fluffy and delicious! The roast beef has a moist and smooth texture, with a subtle sweetness of the meat. The abundance of vegetables is also great.
- Dashimaki Tamago and An Butter: 1500 yen
Both sandwiches look too cute to resist, and I definitely wanted to try them after the pudding. They may not be ideal for sharing, but the soft and fluffy bread makes it easy to tear and share. The bread is just delicious. The dashimaki tamago has a gentle sweetness and is tasty. The an butter, especially the timing when the butter melts, is exquisite. It melts as soon as you put it in your mouth.
- Very Morning Pudding: 900 yen
The chewy pudding is smooth and delicious. It feels very lovable and cute when you put a spoon in it. The crunchy black beans and fragrant kinako, combined with the gentle sweetness of the pudding, create a delightful harmony. The time spent enjoying this is truly blissful.
The food menu was delicious, but I was particularly drawn to how they present their sweets. I look forward to trying their cakes and parfaits next time. For more details, visit the blog (Futatabi).
SNS can show you trendy things, but there is so much information that you can't collect. Do you have reservations? What's the estimated sold-out time? I want to visit this place, but the ticket system is confusing... I want to answer those questions as much as possible.

This was my first visit. I went on Sunday at 11:00, so I waited for almost an hour. I had the peach cake. There were lots of chunks of peach and it was very fresh and delicious (*॑꒳॑*) I was hesitant about waiting in line, but I'm glad I went to this cafe! I will definitely visit again ♡

This popular cafe near Shinjuku Gyoen Park is known for being open early in the morning and always having long lines even on weekdays. I visited on August 18th, the first day of their limited evening hours on the 18th, 21st, 25th, and 26th of August. The operating hours were from 18:30 to 21:00 with last orders at 20:30. There were about 10 people lined up before opening, and when I arrived around 19:30, there was a wait for two groups ahead of us. After waiting for about an hour on the bench outside, we were finally able to enter. We ordered all the fruit-based dishes on the menu, and each one had a delightful sweetness from the fruits. The Gnocchi was also deliciously chewy. We ended the meal with a beautifully sliced Fig Zuccotto with a mild sweetness. I regret not ordering the Crab Cream Croquette that everyone was raving about, so I definitely want to try it next time.

I finally had the chance to visit this restaurant that I had been curious about. Even though I don't use Instagram, my colleague sitting next to me kept saying "This place is Instagrammable" and laughed at me. But when I saw the sandwich set, I was amazed! The presentation was beautiful and the taste was great too. It was a bit pricey at 1500 yen. If my colleague and I couldn't fill our stomachs with this, we joked about going to the ramen shop next door. The rolled omelette and the anko butter brioche were delicious! Especially the sweet and salty taste of the anko butter was irresistible. The mascarpone cheese and corn cold soup had a rich flavor and was delicious. The green salad was fresh and cold. The ice cafe au lait after the meal had a perfect mix. The color of the milk was cute. The stained glass covered lighting above was beautiful. I also noticed a nearby chiropractic clinic card at the register, offering 30 minutes for 880 yen. This also caught my interest.

I stopped by this cafe in the late morning, not feeling very hungry but wanting something to eat. According to Instagram, this cafe specializes in sweets. I was torn between getting a cake or a fruit sandwich plate since it was lunchtime. The plate had peach, Shine Muscat grapes, and Nagano Purple grapes, all very fresh and delicious. The fruit sandwich had anko butter spread between the fruit and toast, which was also unique and tasty. I would like to try their cakes next time! However, when I visited, the staff were all men and not very attentive, so the atmosphere wasn't very relaxing.

The shop is always crowded during regular opening hours, with a line that never ends. I could eat their roast beef sandwich over and over again, it's so delicious. The praline a la mode is not only visually appealing but also tastes great. The ice cream on the side was also my favorite flavor. I want to go back even if I have to wait in line, but maybe I'll wait until after summer.

[Waiting Time] Around 1 PM on weekends, there are 2 groups lined up in front, with a 15-minute wait for up to 5 customers. There are benches for waiting customers. [Reservation] Reservations are possible for some menu items (TableCheck). [Budget] The average budget is between 1000 yen to 2000 yen. [Features] A stylish cafe with the theme "fall more in love in the morning." They use fresh seasonal fruits in their desserts, popular puddings, basque cheesecake, and a wide variety of menu items. They have limited-time and daily specials that are highly creative and perfect for Instagram. The taste is delicious, not just visually appealing. They open early in the morning, so you can enjoy a morning meal there. [Atmosphere] With a total of 20 seats including counter and table seating, the cafe has a cozy and spacious feel despite its small house-like exterior. It has a clean and comfortable atmosphere with a nostalgic retro vibe. [Food] - Black tea and peach rare cheesecake: A unique, dense, smooth rare cheesecake with a strong black tea aroma and a hint of bitterness. It features chunks of fresh peach and a buttery, firm bottom. - Moody Pudding: A milky, smooth, and slightly firm pudding with a caramel sauce that is not too sweet. It is easy to eat and enjoyable. [Drinks] They serve coffee made from beans roasted at "Okaffe kyoto," a coffee specialty shop in Kyoto run by Shigehiro Okada, who won the Japan Barista Championship and placed 3rd in the Japan Coffee in Good Spirits competition. Coffee lovers will be satisfied with their coffee. [Service] The calm and relaxed service allowed for a leisurely experience. As a regular customer, I look forward to visiting this favorite cafe regularly. Personally, I prefer the basque cheesecake and rare cheesecake over the pudding.

I finally visited Tsubasa Coffee, a place I've been curious about. It is located a 3-minute walk from Shinjuku Gyoenmae Station and a 6-minute walk from Shinjuku Sanchome Station. I visited around 1 pm on a weekday. There was a wait for one group, and I was able to get in after about 15 minutes. When I left the shop around 2:30 pm, there were about 3 groups waiting.
What I ordered:
- Fig and white chocolate rare cheesecake
- Chai latte
There are other sweets that I have been curious about for a while, but this time I chose the limited edition fig and white chocolate rare cheesecake. The visual impact was quite impressive. It is a visual delight for fig lovers. The fig is generously placed in the cheesecake, and caramelized figs are on top. The caramelized figs were so delicious that I could eat them endlessly. The cheesecake had a cookie base and was rich and smooth. I would like to come back to try other sweets at this shop.

After eating ramen at Afro Beats, I walked around feeling a bit dizzy and noticed a long line. Upon investigation, I found out that both coffee and sweets are popular there. The line had chairs and shade, so waiting wasn't too bad. It took about 50 minutes to get inside. They have a unique menu, with their famous pudding priced at 750 yen for a mini version. They also offer limited edition items, like a peach pudding called Pudding Alamomo for 1600 yen. I decided to try the Pudding Alamomo with a hot coffee for 750 yen. The coffee, a light roast from El Salvador, had hints of orange and chocolate with a lingering acidity. The taste was delicious and the cup was beautiful. The Pudding Alamomo came with matcha ice cream and I had to eat it with a knife and fork. The dessert was not too sweet, which I personally didn't prefer. Although the prices were high, the place was run by a nice young man whom I wanted to support. However, personal taste preferences are unavoidable. Maybe the fact that I recently had the amazing peach (or melon) dessert at Amplyse influenced my opinion. If I were to visit again, I would probably skip the dessert and just have coffee and a meal. The ideas are interesting and it's a good spot for Instagram-worthy photos, but for me, the taste didn't quite match up, especially considering the price.

I revisited my favorite cafe near my home to try their limited-time sweets and coffee. It was a weekend afternoon, so I was prepared for the busiest time and waited outside for about an hour. I tried the "Purin Alamo" and an iced cafe latte that I was looking forward to. Everything I eat there is delicious, so I had high expectations, but it was also very delicious! Inside the ripe peach, there was a firm pudding. The pudding was not too sweet and refreshing. The crunchy crumble at the bottom also added a nice touch. The side ice cream was melon and coconut gelato, which varies depending on the day, but this gelato was also very delicious! I hesitated whether to order a second one. I will definitely go back to eat again!

I ended up coming to TSUBASA COFFEE in Shinjuku Gyoenmae twice this month! I ordered the Mont Blanc Peach (1600 yen) and the Trainee Latte (550 yen). I recently had the Peach Mille-feuille at this shop, and when I checked the shop's story, I found out about the Mont Blanc Peach, so I went there first thing in the morning. However, even in the morning, this popular shop was already full. I waited outside for a bit and was able to get in after about 5 minutes. After that, I thought the shop might have some free seats, but it was full again. It's a popular shop, but it seems to have a good turnover. Now, about the Mont Blanc Peach. The ice cream served with it was green tea and dried fig on that day. The peach was firm, with pudding inside. The pudding was soft. There was crumble underneath the peach and ice cream, giving a crunchy texture that I personally enjoyed. I also ordered the Trainee Latte this time. I was happy that they attempted a complex latte art. I finally got to enjoy the whole peach dessert at this shop, and it was a very satisfying start to the day. I enjoyed it a lot on this day as well. Thank you for the meal.

■Prin Alamo Mo■Ginger Ale (Spicy)This cafe near Shinjuku Gyoen is popular and open from early morning. I went there around 12 pm on a Monday without a reservation and was able to enter without waiting as there were a few empty seats. It's usually crowded even on weekdays, but the hot weather with temperatures over 30 degrees seemed to have reduced the number of customers. Even with a reservation, you may have to wait until a table is available, so it's better to go with some flexibility. Therefore, although reservations are possible, it doesn't guarantee immediate seating.★For those who don't want to wait in line, it's recommended to visit on hot days when you can enter without queuing. The "Today's Cake" is a daily changing cake with a consistent base but varying seasonal fruits and ingredients, ensuring that you won't get tired of it even if you eat it every day. There are about five types of cakes available each day, and the details can be checked on Instagram. The "Prin Alamo Mo" is often sold out by around 1 pm as it's limited in quantity for the day. I have tried apple with custard inside before, but it was my first time trying the peach version. The white peach used wasn't overly sweet, but it paired well with the custard inside, making it delicious when eaten together.

I visited the popular morning cafe, Tsubasa Coffee, near Shinjuku Gyoen early in the morning. There were about 2 groups of customers inside at 9:30 on a weekday. I tried the Pudding Alamo (available from 9:30), which was a large peach cut in half with a firm pudding inside. The pudding had a strong egg flavor and was topped with a caramel with a nice bitterness. The juicy peach, crispy crumble, and summer-like coconut and melon gelato on the side made for an artistic presentation and a meticulously crafted taste. It was amazing! Highly recommended for peach and pudding lovers.

It was Saturday, so I arrived at the restaurant around noon and waited for over an hour to get in. I had seen a cake in the photos that I wanted to try, but when I went to order, they were out of Basque cheesecake and other cakes, so I ended up getting just one cake. It was a type of cake with peach sauce on top, and the peach sauce was delicious. I also enjoyed the cold brew coffee.
- It was frustrating not knowing the situation while waiting, waiting for about 20 minutes is fine but waiting close to an hour with nothing available is too much (especially coming from out of town). It would be helpful if they displayed the "available products" outside the shop, so we know when something is sold out (asking if they still have cheesecake at a popular shop is bothersome).
- When ordering, I tried using the QR code to check today's cakes, but it seemed like the information wasn't updated, so it was a waste of effort and caused confusion.
- When they were plating the cakes, it seemed like the staff member might have been new because they took quite a long time to do it, and when it was busy, three people had to gather to work on the cakes.
- I had a seat where I could see them making the cakes, but they touched the cakes quite a bit.
- They brought out the cake and left without explaining anything. I had to call a staff member later to ask, "Is this sauce meant for the cake?" I wish they had explained it to me at the beginning. Since I had to wait for a long time, I finally took the time to read the message from the shop properly, and it seems like their style is to take it easy and not rush. It's like "what's outside is outside" style, which I think is an Osaka style, but I'm pretty sure I'm not from Osaka.

I heard that TSUBASA COFFEE in front of Shinjuku Gyoen started serving peach mille-feuille, so I went there. I ordered the peach mille-feuille (1400 yen) and a Latte for trainees (550 yen). I arrived at the shop around 12 pm on a weekday and found available seats, so I could sit down right away. Since the peach mille-feuille was available, I ordered that along with the trainee Latte. The trainee Latte is a system where Latte made by staff who are still in training is offered at a lower price. I think this kind of system is great! Customers can enjoy drinks at a lower price, and trainees can gain more experience. While I was thinking about that, the peach mille-feuille that I was looking forward to was brought to me. The mille-feuille was crispy, with slices of peach sandwiched in between. It was a moment of bliss. I heard they also started serving Peach Prin Alamo, so I have to come back again! I enjoyed my meal that day as well. Thank you for the delicious food.

In July 2023, I was craving a shortcake with fresh fruit, especially mango, but they didn't have it that day. I found out about their dessert of the day on Instagram, but nothing really caught my eye. Since I love peaches, I ordered the Peach Pudding Al Amomo for 1,800 yen and a cold brew coffee for 700 yen. The service was slow, and it took quite a while for the dessert to be served. This gave me enough time to cool down. The cold brew coffee had ice in it, but I think it would have been fine without it. The Peach Pudding Al Amomo came with salted tomato and raspberry gelato. When I cut into the peach, a brownish liquid oozed out, revealing a pudding inside. It was the first time I had seen a dessert where the whole peach was filled with pudding. The peach was a bit lukewarm and lacked sweetness, which was disappointing.

■Rare Tea for Mango Lovers■
This cafe near Shinjuku Gyoen is popular for serving cold brew coffee and is open early in the morning. I visited on a Sunday around 8:00 AM without a reservation and was able to get a seat without waiting. There were about three empty seats, but one was reserved, and the remaining two counter seats were filled within 10 minutes. A couple of customers arrived while I was there, but since it was hot outside and there was no waiting area, I decided to leave without waiting. Even if you have a reservation, you may still have to wait until a seat becomes available, so it's better to go with some flexibility. Reservations are possible, but it doesn't guarantee no wait time.
The "Cake of the Day" changes daily and features a variety of fruits and other ingredients combined with a consistent base, ensuring that you won't get tired of it even if you eat it every day. There are around five types of cakes available each day, and you'll need to check their Instagram for the details. The "Rare Tea for Mango Lovers" is a lightly sweetened rare tea with plenty of sweet, ripe mangoes inside, and although it's a bit pricey, it was delicious.
Starting tomorrow, July 3rd, there will be a new offering called the "Pudding Alamo Mo" which is a popular peach dessert with pudding inside.

Two people had breakfast here. They had 3 slices of bread, anko butter, soup, okra salad, lettuce, lotus root and fish cake, and a mini pudding, along with coffee, for a total of 1700 yen. As mentioned by others, the staff seemed unfriendly and the service was not great. The food looked good but tasted average. The bread and coffee were just okay. However, considering the portion size for the price, it's not a bad deal when you factor in the location.

Weekend around 12:30. Waited for 6 people. Thought it would take over an hour to wait, but got in after waiting for 30 minutes. Maybe because some people had made reservations in advance, there were empty seats inside the restaurant even though there were people waiting outside.
- Fig and white chocolate rare cheesecake (tax included 1000 yen)
- Hot coffee (tax included 750 yen)
It took 20 minutes for the coffee to arrive. The Kenyan coffee beans were lightly roasted. The amount was quite small for the price. The white chocolate foam was fluffy and the cheesecake was surprisingly rich and had a whole fresh fig inside! The caramelized fig on top was also sweet. It's a bit expensive at 1000 yen, but it's quite large and satisfying to eat. The crunchy cookie base was also delicious!
