I noticed that I tend to enjoy restaurants where I can chat with the staff at the counter (laughs). This was my second visit to a place that caught my eye with its sign, and it was a restaurant with a sudden staircase. It had an Italian vibe with reasonable prices for game dishes! It was a place that I usually wouldn't visit, but I strangely liked it. Wine seemed to be the main menu, so despite my vague order for a bottle of something affordable, the staff kindly explained various options to me. Even when I ordered simple snacks like pate, olives, and wild boar for 1575 yen, they responded well. The dishes were generous and reasonably priced, with just the right amount of flavor. The smoky aroma from grilling over charcoal was also delightful! I ended up getting a little tipsy (laughs). Anyway, friendly staff are the best in the service industry, right? It was a chic and impressive restaurant. I look forward to enjoying the food slowly next time.

It was a game meat restaurant, and I had bear meat for the first time. They had a really wide selection of house wines, and the menu was handwritten, creating a great atmosphere. I tried the daily pasta dish, which had a strong shrimp flavor and was very delicious.

I was surprised to find a variety of unique meats such as crow, pheasant, and bear, all of which were fresh and free of any unpleasant smell. I especially enjoyed the rabbit meat! There is a good selection of alcohol, with a wide variety of wines that paired perfectly with the game meats. The prices were neither high nor low, but I would definitely want to come back again!

We had our final dinner at the charcoal grill restaurant called Jibie in Kyoto. We arrived at 6 pm and there were no other customers yet. We had reserved a course meal. We started by choosing our game meat - I selected deer thigh meat and my partner chose duck meat. We then toasted with wine, which had a great variety to choose from. The appetizer, carpaccio, was delicious. Then came the main course of meat. The duck meat was easy to eat and then the deer thigh meat arrived. It was rare but very tasty. The pairing with wine was perfect. The meat had no strong taste, and I found that I really like game meat dishes. The photo is of the wild boar Bolognese-style pasta that was part of the course. Everything was delicious, and I forgot to take a photo until after I had already started eating. Our last night in Kyoto was filled with enjoyable dining. Thank you for the meal.

There are various types of game meat available in this restaurant, such as duck, deer, bear, Ezo deer, pheasant, boar, crow, seal, etc. Some people may be hesitant to try game meat, but it is actually very easy to eat. Bear meat has a rich flavor and a chewy texture similar to beef. Ezo deer, which I have tried at various restaurants, was incredibly delicious when sourced during its peak season with juicy and flavorful meat. There was no gamey taste at all. I am looking forward to trying crow meat next.

I visited the sister restaurant of Nabariya in Demachiyanagi, as I had a great experience at Nabariya before. It was my first time trying Todoroki, a type of red meat with a fishy aroma, which was surprisingly delicious and seemed good for health! When dipped in the accompanying sauce, the flavor changed and I really enjoyed it. The charcoal-grilled shiitake mushrooms were also delicious with a nice aroma. They offer a good selection of cost-effective wines, making it a place that can also be used as a bar.

I had been wanting to try bear meat for a few years, and to think that I could eat bear in Kyoto! They also had other rare meats like seal, pheasant, and rabbit stew. I tried seal, bear, wild boar, and rabbit stew. A friend who had tried seal meat before said that this place's seal meat had a good flavor compared to the one they had tried before. The bear meat had a unique texture, different from being tough. The pheasant caught my interest but it was sold out when we went. The wild boar had a rich flavor and was delicious. I wondered if the rabbit stew would come with tender meat, but it seemed like they cooked the bone-in meat after ordering. The rabbit meat tasted similar to chicken breast. We didn't order any carbs, just enjoyed some wine, so the bill was reasonable. Overall, it was a good experience trying rare meats and they were delicious. It's recommended to order the main dishes early as they take time to cook.

The wild boar meat is tender and juicy without any strong taste. The bear meat, while also not having a strong taste, is a bit tough. Good place to try rare meats when you're in the mood for something different.

After work, I went straight to Charcoal-san and ordered appetizers, lamb, beer, and wine (about 5 glasses)! It opened at 6 pm and customers started coming in one after another...! The quiet atmosphere of the restaurant was very calming. The appetizer platter included smoked mackerel, prosciutto with melon, and smoked duck beautifully arranged on golden plates, and it was delicious. The lamb was tender and easy to eat, although I personally wouldn't have minded a stronger flavor. The wine selection was extensive, and the atmosphere was so relaxing that time seemed to pass slowly. The manager was also very composed, creating a mood-filled ambiance. It's a perfect place for a date or to leisurely enjoy a bottle of wine. Next time, I'll come to try the venison, rabbit, and maybe even bear (I heard they have seals in winter...or do they?)

I forgot to use the coupon even though I could have used it... I wanted to eat game meat. They adjusted the amount of vegetables and meat to be multiples of three to accommodate our party of three, which was a thoughtful gesture. The game meat had no gamey taste and was delicious seasoned with herbs and rock salt. I forgot to take a picture of today's pasta, but the shrimp and zucchini oil pasta was delicious. The game meat was a bit pricey as expected, coming to 26,000 yen for three people, including drinks. The restaurant is small, so it may be difficult for larger groups, but it could be satisfying as a hidden gem for a second stop. Thank you for the meal!

The atmosphere was nice, like a hidden retreat. However, even though I made a reservation for smoking on Tabelog, I was told that smoking was not allowed inside without any apology, which left me feeling confused. If that's the case, they should remove the smoking designation. This was the most disappointing point. Also, the speed of serving food and drinks was very slow. Plates were not replaced often, and the staff did not check on the customers, so I don't think it's suitable for entertaining guests. Furthermore, the stock of alcohol was limited, and I was told several times that they were out of stock even after ordering. It's okay once, but if it happens multiple times, it ruins the dining experience. I usually don't give low ratings on Tabelog because I believe customers are not gods, but I think each restaurant has its own style. However, this time was very disappointing, so I apologize for giving this rating. The food is delicious, but taste and atmosphere are crucial for dining out...

This was my first visit and I had the monthly wine, grilled rabbit, and daily pasta. The rabbit was mild and tasted great with mustard. I'd like to try wild boar and deer next time. It's a great place that makes me want to come back again!

After the New Year, I visited a acquaintance to eat the zodiac animal, the boar. However, they didn't have boar in stock that day! I was surprised, but I decided to order pheasant, deer, rabbit, and bear from the menu instead. The bear meat was incredibly delicious! It had little fat and a sweet taste that was unique. The rabbit was a stew, and it had the most distinctive flavor. Please save some boar for me next time!

I made a reservation and visited the restaurant on Friday night. I was looking forward to trying their game meat dishes. I ordered deer loin, wild boar, and bear. I also got a platter of appetizers and a platter of prosciutto. I had two beers and about three glasses of wine. The game meats were grilled over charcoal, giving them a nice smoky flavor. The deer loin was firm and easy to eat. The wild boar had a lot of fat, which might not be to everyone's liking, but I enjoyed the taste. Unfortunately, the bear meat tasted too salty, perhaps because of the strong seasoning or because of the gamey flavor.

It had just the right amount of flavor with a good balance of saltiness and garlic, which my friends and I both loved. We couldn't stop saying how delicious it was while eating. The grilled vegetables were also delicious. Unlike salads, these grilled vegetables were satisfying and brought out the natural flavors of the vegetables, making it perfect with rice! We ordered the Inca's Awakening, corn, and nagaimo dishes. The staff were calm and friendly, making the atmosphere very pleasant. I would definitely want to visit this restaurant again when I go back to Kyoto!

The Gion restaurant was crowded, so I escaped to this restaurant that I had checked in advance. They specialize in game dishes, but other menu items are also quite good. The glass of wine starts from 500 yen, so it feels relatively reasonable, and they serve a generous amount. The wine is slightly chilled, so sometimes you may need to warm the glass with your hands, which wine lovers will appreciate. You can see the small grill where they are cooking while drinking, which adds to the enjoyment. I was surprised to see that they offer not only beef, pork, chicken, boar, deer, and lamb, but also bear meat! I definitely want to come back to this place next time.
