2017 spring 18 ticket trip, this time I traveled to Kyoto for 2 days round trip. The main purpose was to eat at Jiro's, but I also wanted to enjoy the surroundings before and after☆ After Jiro on the first day, I didn't want to waste the night in Kyoto, so I took a stroll through the city. I got off at Gion Shijo Station from Ichijoji and took a solo walk to Maruyama Park and Yasaka Shrine! The cherry blossoms were just starting to bloom, but the atmosphere was so nice and it really put me in a travel mood. At the same time, I couldn't help but feel a bit lonely seeing all the happy couples around (lol). I had not booked accommodation in advance, so I decided to look for a place while walking. I had my eye on a capsule hotel along the way, but to my surprise, it was fully booked! It's rare for a capsule hotel to be fully booked on a weekday in Kyoto, and the price was around 4500 yen, which is not typical for a capsule hotel! I love traveling and have been to all 47 prefectures 2-3 times, but... believe it or not, it's been over 10 years since I last took a train to Kyoto! And this is my first solo trip (lol). I always had the impression that Kyoto was expensive, so I never really stayed there for long. In the end, I decided to head back to Kyoto the next day, even if just for a little while, before leaving. Since it was too late to return to Nagoya, I stayed at Kaohsiung Club in Yamashina, near Kyoto, where I could have all-you-can-eat soft serve ice cream for a cheap price. I brought my laptop to do some work, and enjoyed three glasses of soft serve ice cream in parfait style. The night pack for 8 hours cost 1543 yen including tax. Even with the train fare for the 18 ticket, I managed to keep my transportation and accommodation expenses under 7000 yen for this budget trip☆ I checked out before 7 am the next day. On my way back, I stopped by Nagoya, had a giant meal, and then headed home... to be continued...
