I felt like having curry udon, so I went to a place run by a friendly couple. The curry was not too spicy, which was great for me as I don't like very spicy food. The noodles were soft and thin, and they went well with the curry. I also ordered onigiri that day, which was a bit moist for my taste as I prefer firmer rice with noodle dishes. Overall, it was a good experience.

I visited here because I was craving curry udon. The curry udon here is usually thick and hot, but they serve it in a clay pot which keeps it boiling hot! It was delicious with chunks of beef and vegetables. I also ordered a side of rice. They offer free pickles on the table which go great with the rice. The udon portion seemed small but I managed to finish it. It was so good that I felt like I could eat more. Thank you for the meal!

Around noon, I was wandering around this area with a friend and feeling a bit hungry. I remembered this place and decided to visit. It was a restaurant I had been interested in from seeing it on social media. We sat at a table and ordered the following lunch set menu items: - Nikujaga Curry Udon with rice (900 yen) - Nikujaga Udon with tempura, egg, sweet tofu, and beef tendon (800 yen) Looking at the menu, I noticed they also had a variety of a la carte dishes for those who enjoy drinking at night. After a short wait, the udon arrived, steaming hot with a tempting appearance. The Nikujaga Curry Udon had a gentle flavor with a rich broth, and the udon noodles were thin. The Nikujaga Udon had tempura which soaked up the broth and was fluffy, along with sweet tofu, egg, and beef tendon - a generous amount of toppings. I shared with my friend and we enjoyed every bite, finishing our meals with satisfaction. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

Every time I passed by, I was curious about this shop!! Although there are few reviews, some reviewers have visited and I was surprised Σ(・ω・ノ)ノ! On a chilly day, I went with my mother without telling her the name of the shop☆ When I mentioned "Rocky," I thought the older generation might find it suspicious (lol). Later, when I told her, she said, "If I had known, I might not have gone!!" (∀`*ゞ)エヘヘ Inside the shop, there are table seats and counter seats... It seems to be run by a couple (^^♪ The lady in charge of customer service was very attentive☆ The menu includes regular udon, rice bowls, and ramen! This shop specializes in hot pot dishes, so there are three types of curry hot pot udon, special, and hot pot, with various toppings available for customizationヾ(o´∀`o)ノワァーィ♪ Also, there was a weekday limited set!! This time, I had a dilemma... There was a weekday limited curry set, with curry hot pot udon and rice for 800 yen (usually rice costs 150 yen, so it's 50 yen cheaper) and I was torn... (´ε`;)ウーン... My mother said she didn't need plain rice, so... -Curry hot pot udon 700 yen -Special 850 yen We both chose different options for the meat topping (*^^)v and shared them (o^―^o)ニコ About the taste... -Curry hot pot udon... served in a clay pot!! (* ̄0 ̄)/ Oh!! When you open the lid, the aroma of curry spreads all around ( ̄ー ̄)ニヤリ The thickness is shining brightly✨ It's hot, but there are small plates on the table, which is helpful (pq´v`*)ァ-㌧♪ When you eat it, Σ(゚Д゚;エーッ! It's rare to have thin noodles in curry udon!! But you can still eat it without breaking☆ The thickness is just right, and it's spicy enough to make you sweat comfortably ( ´∀`)bグッ! The beef tendons are tender and plentiful, and the green onions are a nice touch!! I wish there were more green onions, though (。-∀-) -Special... This one comes with a lot of ginger on the ladle!! And to my surprise, a big shrimp tempura appeared!! It's a regular hot pot udon with a curry flavor, but there is no thickness!! Σ(゚Д゚) It's the first time I've seen this kind of udon, and my excitement went up♡ The ingredients are deep-fried tofu, beef, fish cake, egg, and green onions, but just by adding a curry flavor, it's strangely luxurious (〃艸〃)ムフッ First, I tried it as it is, and (-ω-;) Ugh, the curry flavor is weak and lacks firmness, but when I added the ginger, it changed dramatically!! It's so delicious that I can't help but groanヾ(≧▽≦)ノ My mother, who has a high tolerance for heat, kept eating more and more, and before I knew it, 2/3 of it was in her stomach (;´д`)Tohoho And then, she noticed the pickles on the table and said, "I want rice!!" (@ ̄□ ̄@;)!! The lady smiled and said, "I'll make it a set♡" and kindly accommodated her request☆ The pickles were crispy and went well with the curry (*ノωノ) Overall... the special dish was eye-opening!! It's likely to be a frequent guest at our house this year (´∀`*)ウフフ "I'm full and satisfied!!" my mother said, and on the way home, she said, "Next time, I want to try the regular hot pot too♡," which made me feel happy and content(●^o^●)

There was a sign saying "Nabe Yaki Udon" that caught my attention, so I decided to try it on a cold day. The restaurant was a simple diner with a TV and a stove, where regular customers were chatting with the owner while enjoying their Nabe Yaki Udon. I was intrigued by the scene. There were many udon menu options, but I decided to go with the Nabe Yaki Udon with "meat" for 800 yen. You could add two rice balls for an extra 200 yen, so I got one. The Nabe Yaki Udon arrived steaming hot with a generous amount of ginger on top. The udon was thin and soft, and the tempura shrimp had a delicious crispy coating. The green onions added a nice flavor, and the slightly sweet fried tofu was a pleasant surprise. I was initially worried about the portion size, but it turned out to be quite filling. I was also relieved to find a perfectly half-cooked egg at the bottom of the bowl. The soft rice ball provided a comforting touch to the meal. Overall, the Nabe Yaki Udon was light and easy to finish. It's rare to find a restaurant that specializes in "Nabe Yaki Udon," so I will definitely be coming back again.

I discovered this restaurant last winter and have been a regular for lunch. I mostly had the pot-fried udon, but tried the curry pot udon once. I prefer the pot-fried version. You can choose between tendon and beef for the pot-fried udon, and I prefer the beef. The sweetness of the beef melting in the soup is great. The tempura adds a nice oily and soft texture, and the kamaboko and green onions are a nice touch. The egg hidden at the bottom is cooked just right, adding to the overall experience. Eating the piping hot pot-fried udon warms you up inside. With the colder mornings and evenings, I felt like going to warm up a bit.

Visited for the first time on a Saturday morning around 11 o'clock. This is not related to the review, but my wife and the owner here were apparently classmates a long time ago. However, they were not very close, and I have no connection at all, so I can freely review without any hesitation. For our generation, the name of the restaurant only reminds me of Stallone's movies. The owner must be a boxing fan. Maybe there is an "Adrian" type lady helping out here. With such vague thoughts, we entered the restaurant, and indeed, there were traces. There was a poster of "Thai Style Kickboxing World Championship" on the wall. And the person who served us was not Adrian but probably the owner's wife. She was much more beautiful than the strong-willed Adrian (Talia Shire). Special Niku Udon (curry flavor) ¥850, Inari Sushi ¥100 x 2. There was a paper pasted over the price display on the menu board. They probably raised the prices. ¥850 for udon is a bit expensive, and it's a bit disappointing. "For the Special Niku Udon, you can choose between beef or beef tendons, which one would you like?" asked the beautiful lady. I chose the beef tendons. The quality of the beef tendons was quite good and very delicious. It also had egg, shrimp tempura, sweet simmered aburaage, plenty of Kujo green onions, and kamaboko. The soup was a lightly curry-flavored broth, and the udon noodles were quite thin. It seems they need this thin noodle to cook quickly after ordering. However, I personally prefer noodles with a bit more firmness. As for the curry Niku Udon, it was a very delicious bowl. Each ingredient was carefully cooked, and the taste lingered. Especially the combination of "sweet aburaage," "beef tendons," and "flavorful curry soup" was very good. The Inari Sushi we ordered was a simple one with black sesame seeds, but it went perfectly with the udon. Isn't this combination a must? Overall, I was very satisfied, but I wonder if I will revisit soon. If they offer the Special Niku Udon and Inari Sushi in a clever set price, I would be very grateful.

I went after lunchtime. The sign at the entrance says "Nabe Yakisoba," so you can tell. It's similar to Ito-chan's Nabe Yakisoba in Minami Ward. It's located south of Kitaoji Omiya. After passing Gotabi Shrine, you'll see the shop on the east side. There's a sign in front of the shop that says "Nabe Yaki Rocky." They only open during the day, so I was able to enter easily after lunchtime. There are counter seats and table seats. I was recommended this place as a delicious Nabe Yakisoba shop, so I ordered the all-inclusive Nabe Yakisoba. It took about 5 to 10 minutes for the Nabe Yakisoba to arrive. There's plenty of ginger on the ladle. When you open the lid, you'll find tempura, sliced meat, green onions, fried tofu, and fat scraps. I added the ginger from the ladle and let it cool while mixing. I also ordered two pieces of Inari Sushi for 100 yen each. When you sip the broth, it stimulates your appetite. The udon noodles are thin with a firm texture. In Kita Ward, it's Rocky, and in Minami Ward, it's Ito-chan.

When I visited this restaurant, the store name caught my eye and I had been curious about it for a while. At first glance, it looked like a restaurant specializing in hot pot udon. However, I had some reservations because I thought, "I've seen ramen shops, curry shops, and yakiniku shops with the same store name before, but a udon shop with 'Rocky'? This must be a place run by a rough and tough owner, with only hot pot udon on the menu, and even the cheapest item would cost around ¥1200." But I couldn't help but be intrigued and decided to give it a try. Inside the restaurant, there were two 4-person tables and a counter with space for about 5 people. A female waitress (possibly the wife?) was serving customers, while the owner (a man) seemed to be in the back. Looking at the menu, although hot pot udon was the specialty, there were also other types of noodles and rice bowls available, and the prices were not high at all. It could be considered a typical local udon shop. Surprisingly, the regular hot pot udon was only ¥700, which was cheaper than I expected. I was curious about the recommended curry hot pot udon, but I decided to start with the basic hot pot udon to taste the broth. I also ordered an inari sushi for ¥100. For the hot pot udon, I chose beef as the meat option. The broth was not too strong or weak, but it had a well-balanced and flavorful taste. The udon noodles were thin, which was unusual for hot pot udon. The toppings included the chosen meat, green onions, tempura shrimp, egg, fish cake, and diced fried tofu. The sweetened fried tofu was a nice touch for me. The shrimp tempura had a large coating but a small shrimp inside, which was a bit disappointing. However, considering the reasonable price, it was acceptable. They also provided a generous amount of ginger on the ladle, which you could add according to your preference. I recommend trying the broth first before adding the ginger. The inari sushi was tasty with sweet skin and black sesame seeds. Personally, I would have been happier if the additional serving of noodles or rice bowls cost around ¥80-¥90. It's a minor detail, but... Overall, I would recommend this place for a casual lunch. Next time, I would like to try the curry hot pot udon or other regular menu items. Despite the name "Rocky," the restaurant had a down-to-earth atmosphere and affordable prices. I should have asked why they chose the name "Rocky"... Additional notes: - You can choose soba or Chinese noodles (which I found interesting) in addition to udon noodles (not sure if this applies to non-hot pot dishes, so please confirm with the staff). - The restaurant is currently not open for dinner, but you can order hot pot udon for takeout if you contact them in advance. They may be able to accommodate takeout orders after 3 PM. Personally, I wish they were open for dinner as well.
