I went on a bar-hopping tour from Gion Shijo to Sanjo in Kyoto. I walked through Pontocho and Kawaramachi, and stopped by at the fifth bar. The gin and tonic were delicious. The restroom and interior were very luxurious. I bet they spent a lot of money on them. The place was bustling with regular customers. Thank you for the meal.

I came on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 10 pm. The interior of the restaurant is stylish, beautiful, and calming. I had a Fuzzy Navel, Piña Colada, Yogi Orange, Balalaika, Chichi, and white wine. They were all incredibly delicious and fantastic. My mouth was filled with happiness. I am completely satisfied and full of joy. It warmed my heart. Thank you for the delicious meal. I will definitely come back. I appreciate all the ingredients in this world. I am calling for delicious food♪ The more I eat, the more powerful I become♪

This is a bar where you can also smoke cigars, making it very convenient to use.

After finishing a company drinking party, we were recommended this bar in Karasuma Oike. The interior was dark and had a moody atmosphere. Since there were 6 of us, we were seated in a booth. I don't drink strong alcohol, so I asked for a Malibu drink with less alcohol. They didn't ask if I preferred fruity or sweet flavors. They brought a Malibu Pineapple drink, which was sweet and easy to drink. They also offer cigars to enjoy. Some people were starting to doze off from the relaxing atmosphere, but the staff kindly reminded them not to sleep. Overall, it was a nice bar where you can relax. Thank you for the experience.

I was taken to this place once and it had a great atmosphere, so I decided to go on my own and it has become my go-to spot for solo drinks. Usually my third stop of the night, I order a draft beer first and then switch to red wine. I can't comment on the food because of this routine. The interior is spacious, with tables and counter seats slightly separated, so even if the back tables are lively, I don't feel out of place at the counter alone. I heard that the manager personally selects the wines for the place. This time, the red wine by the glass was from France and Portugal. I'm looking forward to trying the next wine they offer.

I visited a bar in Kyoto with a friend. The first place we tried, "壱" in Kiyamachi, was closed, so we moved on to "Gran Bar" near Karasuma Oike. The entrance was glamorous, but the interior was sophisticated with comfortable seats at the counter. I tried Glenlivet malt and Maker's Mark bourbon on the rocks, recommended by the staff. It was a relaxing experience, perfect for unwinding after work.

I got lost on my way from Karasuma Line Oike Station, so I ended up sweating before arriving at the restaurant. I started by ordering a long cocktail, a Piña Colada. The cocktail was just okay, not exceptional. After quenching my thirst, I decided to order a short cocktail, a Gimlet. The glass it came in was quite large for a short drink. It was enough to almost be two drinks in one for those who enjoy Gimlets, which made me happy. Ever since I read about it in the novel "The Long Goodbye," I have liked this cocktail. I started feeling a bit tipsy. There was a lively group in the booth seats, and only one couple besides me at the counter. I decided to chat with the staff. For my third drink, I ordered a Gin Rickey, which was refreshing with the carbonation. Feeling a bit of indigestion, I ordered a Underberg on the rocks as a digestive aid. I also had some vegetable sticks and paid 5400 yen before catching the last train home. However, since Underberg is around 40% alcohol, I'm not sure if it really helped with my digestion.

I had been curious about this restaurant since I found it on Tabelog, but I never had a chance to go because I didn't have any business in the Gion area. Finally, I went there and the restaurant has a luxurious feel, but the owner/bartender, Mr. Yasuda, is just too funny! He keeps the conversation lively without making you feel uncomfortable. The way he interacts with customers is just right, not too distant and not too close, he has truly mastered the art of customer service. There are booths in the back of the restaurant, but I think it would be a waste to use them when coming to this restaurant. The drinks and food are delicious, but I believe the real charm of this place is Mr. Yasuda. He calls himself the "Glass of God," but he is definitely more like the "Talk of God." I will definitely go back!

I have been hearing rumors for a while, and I finally visited the other day. Just as the rumors said... it's a wonderful restaurant. Not only the products, but also the staff's attention to detail is top-notch! I love cigars, and I have been struggling with the decreasing number of cigar bars in recent years, but this place has a wide variety of cigars and even a Cigar Manager. I am even more impressed. I realized that this bar is probably loved by many people. The drinks are excellent, and the food is also very satisfying, making it a place that can be used for various occasions.

This area near Karasuma Oike is not geared towards students or young people, but rather towards office workers and salarymen. In that sense, the target and concept of this bar are not wrong. However, for us middle-aged men, it feels a bit mediocre. The atmosphere lacks a sense of luxury and comes off as cheap. It gives off a fake vibe. If you are someone who frequents hotel bars or knows places like "Setsugekka" or "KUGEL", you might consider this place luxurious or an adult space. The drink selection is minimal, and the cocktails are average. There are only a couple of noteworthy malt whiskies available. If there is nothing special to look forward to in terms of drinks, then what is the reason to visit this place? The fact that there is no cover charge (with a 10% service charge) and shots are reasonably priced is actually a downside for me when choosing a bar. I prefer bars that charge a cover but provide corresponding service. The manager and staff are all young and provide decent service. The fact that the sofa seating is separate from the counter seating is convenient. If this is supposed to be an authentic bar, I think dressing up would be more appropriate. They may be trying to keep the bar level while lowering the threshold, but is it effective? There are also branch locations near Kyoto Station (Shichijo) and Nishijin with a similar concept.

On my way home from work, I happened to find this restaurant while exploring a different route than usual. It had a clear sense of luxury, and I felt a bit hesitant to go in, so I searched it on my phone. The reviews were quite good, so I decided to give it a try. However, I was surprised by the dazzling interior that didn't seem like it belonged in a business district. Feeling a bit anxious about whether it was a good decision to enter, the staff warmly welcomed me. I thought maybe I should try a cocktail in a place like this, but I started with a beer. Then, I ordered my favorite bourbon whiskey, leaving the choice to the bartender. I believe it was Maker's Mark, served with water. The way it was prepared was so skillful that I was mesmerized by it. The glasses, the ice, everything was meticulously done, and it made me feel good. Also, the staff was very friendly and down-to-earth, which I appreciated. I think my bosses would be impressed if I brought them here. I will definitely visit again. Thank you very much.

If you're looking for a cozy bar in Kyoto, this is the place to go. The bar manager and staff are skilled, and you can relax and enjoy your time. It's a female-friendly place, and there are tables available, making it a great choice for a second round of drinks with colleagues. I had a soda highball, gin and tonic, and Yamazaki whiskey. Plus, it's one of the few places where you can smoke a cigar.

I was taken to this restaurant by someone I am grateful to. The entrance is on the second floor, and you can't see inside, so it feels a bit intimidating for first-timers. After climbing the stairs and entering the entrance, a luxurious chandelier catches your eye. The interior of the restaurant is chic and elegantly decorated. First, we had a drink at the counter. The atmosphere is calm yet not too formal, and the service is friendly, making it easy to relax. Later, a few more people joined us, so we moved to a booth. When we ordered food, they made delicious pasta for us. It was a very pleasant experience, so I would like to visit again.

A friend of mine has been dropping by this place quite often, so I was taken there. Here are my thoughts in chronological order. [Access] Just a few minutes' walk from Karasuma Oike subway station. Quite convenient. It's a bit of a hidden gem, like, "Oh, there's a bar here." [Interior] It has a sophisticated, luxurious feel like a hotel bar, and you feel impressed as soon as you step inside. The atmosphere is beautiful, dark, and calm. There were quite a few customers inside, but it wasn't too noisy. There are counter seats, booth seats, and even party seats in the back. I've visited three times, sitting in booth seats the first two times, and sitting in the party seats with two friends last time. There's no dress code, so you can feel free to visit in any attire. Personally, I didn't expect to be taken to this place, so I came in very casually dressed, and felt a bit embarrassed. The staff welcomed me with a smile though. [Drinks & Cigars] I'm not a strong drinker, so when I mentioned that, they made me a drink with less alcohol content. Appreciated that. On the other hand, my friend is a big drinker and was quite satisfied with the various detailed orders and questions he had. It's expected, but there's a sense of trust here. I found out on my third visit that they also offer cigars here, which made my friend who loves smoking very happy. I don't smoke at all, but I took a puff and there's no denying the quality (laughs). [Service] The staff are elegant and quite unique. They have a good sense of humor, lightly responding to small jokes. In the overall sophisticated atmosphere, they manage to make you feel relaxed. By the way, the speed from ordering to getting served is normal. [Price] It's a bar, so it's expected. I found out later that there was no cover charge, which was nice. You can enjoy the atmosphere of the interior, drinks, and cigars. I understand why my friend frequents this place. The access is good too. If I were a bit stronger with alcohol, I think I would have been a regular here too.

The exterior may seem intimidating to those who are unfamiliar. However, the interior has a sophisticated bar atmosphere reminiscent of a hotel, making it ideal for solo visits. The dim lighting and flickering candles create a cozy ambiance, perfect for a date or a quiet second stop with close friends. When crowded with post-work parties, the noise level can disrupt the atmosphere. It is advisable to reserve the sofa seats, especially on weekends. The alcohol selection is average, lacking in trendy options that may appeal to women. Despite being a genuine bar, the prices are reasonable. Once visited, it becomes a casual spot to frequent.

When you climb the stairs and open the door, you will be greeted by a stylish interior that is a stark contrast to the quiet surroundings. This restaurant really emphasizes its interior design, with luxurious sofas and counters reminiscent of a hotel bar. The staff are very friendly and made our experience truly enjoyable. They even have flair shows at milestones to entertain customers, showing their dedication to creating a fun atmosphere. While the prices may be slightly high for the area around Karasuma, this bar is highly recommended if you're looking to have a good time.
