I visited Niku no Okawa on September 4, 2021. Today, I went to buy meat for a yakiniku dinner at home after a long time. The owner kindly guided me through the various options, and I made my choices based on their recommendations. The meats I purchased this time were:
- Domestic beef grilled liver
- Premium domestic beef tender lamp yakiniku
- Premium domestic beef tomobara
- Frank
- Premium domestic beef lean yakiniku
- Aji no Ō yakiniku sauce (soy sauce)
I bought 100g of each type of meat. Each cut was juicy, thick, and delicious. Lately, I've been finding lean meat more delicious, and I enjoyed savoring it. I had a great time enjoying a generous serving of rice along with the meats. The beer was also delicious. It was a satisfying and fulfilling meal.

I visited on July 12, 2020, for the second time. Last time, I purchased BBQ meat, but this time I came to buy fried foods. I bought the following 4 items:
- Potato Croquette
- Curry Croquette
- Okawa's Minced Cutlet
- Ghost Tonkatsu
All the side dishes are incredibly delicious. The Ghost Tonkatsu is quite large, enough for two adults to enjoy. It's a crispy and delicious tonkatsu that goes well with the sauce. Okawa's Minced Cutlet is also incredibly tasty, a delightful treat for those who love minced cutlets. I enjoyed delicious fried foods on a holiday lunch.

I visited the shop on June 20, 2020. The shop is located on the east side, down from Nana-Honmatsu Hanayacho. It has been relocated due to the reorganization of the Kyoto market. The shop also offers croquettes and other fried foods, which you can enjoy freshly fried. This time, I came to buy meat as I have a BBQ planned at a facility inside the Kyoto market. The ladies, including my wife, preferred lean meat, so we purchased the lean meat. Both the special selected Japanese beef with hot pepper and the quickly seared lean meat were incredibly delicious. The sauce we bought here paired perfectly and we enjoyed a delicious BBQ. All four of us were very satisfied with the delicious meat. I would definitely like to visit this shop again. We were able to enjoy delicious meat.

There is a butcher shop in Shichijo Gozen that is famous for its beef cutlet sandwiches. I have been passing by for years, but today I finally decided to try it out. I tried the minced cutlet sandwich for 650 yen, the egg sandwich for 500 yen, and the beef cutlet sandwich for 1400 yen. While the freshly fried cutlets were delicious, the egg sandwich was outstanding.

The butcher shop that used to be along Shichijo Street (near Umekoji Kyoto Nishi Station) has moved to near the intersection of Nanahommatsu Hanayacho. I always thought about going to the old shop but never did, thinking it was close enough to go anytime. My partner brought back croquettes, minced cutlets, and fried chicken. The beef croquette was visually large but flat. It might be a bit pricey at 100 yen? It was quite soft inside and sweet. The minced cutlet was slightly larger than the croquette. It was juicy and had a strong meaty flavor. The fried chicken came in five bite-sized pieces. It was crispy, but lacked a distinctive flavor. I don't usually fry food at home, so having a shop like this nearby is convenient. I would like to go back and try other items as well.

I always order crab cream croquettes when I go to Western-style restaurants or butcher shops. In the past, I would wonder which place was good or tasty, but after trying the croquettes here, I can say that they are the best by far. They are full of crab flavor. The other fried foods here are also excellent with no negatives so far. The frying oil, despite being a butcher shop, is not greasy and has a light texture. It doesn't make you feel heavy. I apologize for not being able to buy the main meat dish this time. I hope to try it someday and leave a comment.
