This time, the purpose is to go see the light-up in Arashiyama, so I want to stay around there. But Arashiyama only has luxury ryokans or hotels, or guesthouses...and in this day and age, I have a little resistance to sharing a room with someone I don't know. Searching within one train ride distance, I found "Hotel Excellence Aramachi Station" in front of JR Aramachi Station. The owner company is "Gold Weave Co., Ltd." which operates restaurants mainly in Kyoto. A hotel from a restaurant...There are two other branches in front of Kyoto Station. All rooms are non-smoking, so it's not suitable for smokers. This hotel opened in 2017, so it's still new. It's a 1-minute walk from the station! The only issue might be crossing a big street on the way. The entrance is a little down the stairs. There are chairs and tables lined up. Breakfast is included here. It also serves as a breakfast venue and can be freely used at other times. There is also a microwave, so you can take out food and eat it here. Coffee and juice are available anytime, which is nice (^-^) Vegetable juice and orange juice are available. Coffee options are like a typical drink bar. There are corn potage and onion soup, which is nice for breakfast (^-^) WiFi is available. It wasn't super fast but not frustrating either, so I could use it normally. Payment is made at check-in. The room number is written on the receipt. Don't lose it! The elevator requires a card key to operate. Good security since there is not always someone at the front desk. The room is small. The rooms in this hotel are doubles only. So you can stay with two people, but I don't recommend it because it's small. If the person sleeping at the back of the bed needs to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, they have to climb over the person next to them...especially if you have luggage, there is no place to put it. There is a knob on the bedside lamp to adjust the light level, which is subtly helpful (^-^) There is also a refrigerator, but you have to plug it in yourself because the outlet is not connected. There is a deodorant spray, which is nice in the summer. There is also a flashlight. I hope I don't have to use it... There is a TV and a chair. The chair is quite a proper chair, so you could spread out your laptop and work. There are two hangers. A little few? Unit bath. The cups are ceramic. Hand wash provided. I thought the bathtub was spacious, but when I actually got in, it was wide sideways but short vertically. Even at 150 cm tall, my legs...(^-^;) If it were a bit deeper, it would have been better...It seems like tall people wouldn't be able to soak comfortably. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are provided. The problem may be the toilet paper holder. It is unusually close to the toilet, making it difficult to get the paper, and if you are a large person, it might hit your legs. I think they should switch it with the bidet button, but if they do that, it might hit when entering the bathroom next time (^-^;) Whether the door opens in the opposite direction or turns into a sliding door, it's a construction failure. Pajamas are shirt type. There are also bath towels, hand towels, toothbrushes, and slippers...almost everything is there, and if you need more, you can take them from the shelf next to the elevator. I also spilled beer on my pajamas and had to go get another one...(^-^;) There is also a hairdryer and tissues. And breakfast is a simple continental breakfast. Slices of bread are individually wrapped. There is also a toaster. There are three types of jam. But there is no spoon to scoop jam...I thought, but there is a wooden stick for stirring sugar or milk next to it, which was wide enough to scoop it. Boiled eggs were also in the refrigerator in the morning. There are hand sanitizers everywhere, which are easy to use. Cup salads would be nice, but I had dinner last night, and I'm going to eat all day today, so this is just right (#^^#) It's along a main road and near the JR line, but I didn't notice any noise at all.
