I transferred to a city bus in front of Yasaka Shrine in Gion and was looking at a nearby shop. They offer a 50 yen discount for takeout drinks. I ordered today's coffee. There were other coffees with nice aromas available. It's a good idea to call ahead to make sure they are open before going.

I visited around 4:30 PM. They had reserved a seat for me after I called in advance. The service was excellent from the phone call to the moment I arrived, making me very happy. I ordered a cold draft beer, which was delicious. I also ordered a hot sandwich, soft-serve ice cream, and a Nanafukurate, all of which were tasty. The food was great, but the best part was the wonderful staff. The restaurant has irregular closing days and is open from 10 AM to 6 PM, with the last order at 6 PM. It's recommended to call ahead before going to ensure availability.

Near Yasaka Shrine, there is a specialty coffee shop where you can bring your dog (may not be allowed in some cases). Today's blend is a blend of beans from 4 countries. The price was not as high as I expected in Gion, which was a relief (laughs).

On a rainy morning, I was thinking I couldn't go anywhere today. Then, my niece called out, "Let's go somewhere!" We ended up near Yasaka Shrine, where we made a lunch reservation and waited for a call back. Since it was going to take a while, we decided to stop by this cafe. It was a bit chilly due to the rain, so we both ordered a hot cafe mocha. We were seated on the second floor, where we could overlook the street below and relax.

GION COFFEE NANAFUKU opened on February 8th on the south side of the west tower gate of Yasaka Shrine in Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. The spacious and stylish interior has tables on the first floor, traditional seating on the second floor, and a view of Higashioji Street. You can order hot or iced drinks in three sizes, with a blend of Kyoto specialty coffee available at a reasonable price. I tried the short hot blend coffee for 340 yen. They also offer snacks like the Carbonara Bacon Egg sandwich for 180 yen, which was delicious with the perfect balance of cheese, bacon, and seasoning. The coffee was great too. The staff recommended a parfait at another café nearby, which I couldn't visit this time, but I hope to try it next time. It's a convenient, affordable, and delicious spot to stop by before or after visiting Yasaka Shrine.

In front of Yasaka Shrine in Kyoto, there is a coffee shop by the bus stop. I was planning to take a bus towards Kyoto Station, but the bus stop was very crowded. I was exhausted, so I stopped by here to buy an iced coffee and take a break. The coffee had a strong acidity and a refreshing taste. I heard that the one-day bus pass for Kyoto City buses will be discontinued in September of Reiwa 5 (2023), which I can understand. It seems counterproductive if local people can't get on the bus because it's too crowded. Kyoto is really busy with tourists, so it must be tough. Thank you for the meal.
