I went around Kyoto and visited various sweet shops such as Sweets Hyakumeiten, and did a lot of shopping. I wanted to do some light shopping without feeling pressured, so I visited this place. They had a good selection of local sweets like Kansai potato chips and famous products like pickles and Yatsuhashi. The location in front of the convenient station gates was great. It was right in front of the Shinkansen gates, so it was convenient to buy something quickly and hop on the train. I was able to buy everything I missed buying during sightseeing here. They even had Akafuku, which I regretted not buying when I passed by during the day. It's not a Kyoto souvenir, but they also provide properly portioned bags and the service was excellent. I would like to stop by here again when I visit Kyoto next time.

I stopped by here on my way to Kameoka on the JR San'in Main Line. It was around 9:15 am on a weekday. The shop is located on the 1st floor of Kyoto Station Building. It is to the right in front when you enter from the Central Gate (Karasuma Central Gate). It's very convenient as it is right next to the JR Central ticket gate. I believe that before, "Omigekoji Kyokomachi Nankann" was operating in the same location. The inside of the store is new and clean. It's quite spacious. They have a variety of Kyoto souvenirs, mainly food products. When I visited, there were around a dozen customers. The customer base was diverse. I purchased "Matsukaze (8 pieces) for 650 yen (including tax) from "Kameya Mutsu". It's my favorite. I enjoyed it on the local train on the San'in Main Line. The "Matsukaze (8 pieces)" comes in a paper box with 4 pieces on each of the 2 layers, and it is further placed in a paper bag. It is a rectangular shape about 1 cm thick, and about 2-3 bites in size. The top is reddish-brown with poppy seeds on top. It has a chewy and firm texture, unique and not like castella or bread. The poppy seeds add a nice accent. The taste is also distinctive, with a mild white miso flavor and elegant sweetness. Yes, yes, this is it! It's seriously delicious. My companion also liked it. We finished the 8 pieces of "Matsukaze" in no time. I should have bought more. So, two days later, I visited again and bought "Matsukaze (8 pieces)" x2 as souvenirs for myself (laughs).

I received a souvenir of Kyoto, which is a set of 7 Uchiwa-shaped senbei (rice crackers). The handle part is a toothpick. There are 5 different designs on the senbei, with fireworks being my favorite. They are crispy and delicious, with a hint of honey flavor. The individual packaging makes them easy to eat.
