I visited the restaurant for lunch on July 3, 2023, Monday. There was only one other customer when I arrived. I ordered the green curry without the side dishes. It arrived quickly, and the curry was slightly spicy but delicious! The Thai rice was also very good. I was surprised by the authentic taste of the food. When I entered the restaurant, I was a bit unsure, but the taste was really good! The most surprising thing was how delicious the miso soup was. They carefully processed fish scraps and made it full of ingredients. I was truly amazed by how good it tasted. I now want to try other items on the menu. It's true that you never know until you try the food at a restaurant.

I visited for dinner. The location is easy to access from Marutamachi Station, in an area south of the Kyoto Imperial Palace. The restaurant has 5 counter seats and about 12 table seats. There also seem to be private rooms for 4-6 people in the back. You can enjoy daily changing side dishes and relaxing izakaya food. The staff were very kind and accommodating. The food and drinks were delicious. I would like to visit again.

Located close to Karasuma Marutamachi, this obanzai izakaya also serves lunch. I revisited to try the green curry I had missed last time. It was slightly spicy, but the balance of aroma, sweetness, and spices was excellent and very delicious. My sister ordered the cold shabu-shabu, which was also delicious with homemade dressing. When there were few customers, we had a fun lunchtime chatting with the proprietress. Thank you for the meal.

I used to work nearby, and they used to sell side dishes for takeout, which I appreciated. The owner, who manages the place alone, was constantly bustling around, chatting happily with regular customers. The lunch menu changes daily, offering dishes like tonkatsu, hamburger steak, karaage, and the new item, red curry. I ordered the red curry for takeout with a smaller portion of rice. Despite the owner's beautiful appearance, the taste of the food reminded me of my grandma's cooking (laughs). It's a simple yet heartwarming flavor. I've since moved away and can't visit often, but I definitely want to come back for the curry next time. On the wall, there were nostalgic snacks that would delight children. I heard they also run a children's dining program, which I deeply respect. Thank you for the meal.

In Kyoto's Nakagyo-ku, there is a unique combination of green curry with miso soup and three side dishes. You can add sansho pepper to the curry if you like. The jasmine rice is served with it. The rich and flavorful curry with a comfortable level of spiciness is so good that you'll keep coming back for it. I'm curious about other set meals, but I want to keep visiting for the curry for a while.

I visited this restaurant for the first time last week at lunchtime. The friendly proprietress efficiently served lunch one after another. I ordered the fried chicken set meal. The rice was delicious and seconds were available. The miso soup with red snapper and sweetfish had a rich broth with gelatin. Of course, the fried chicken was also delicious. There were many snacks inside the store, and there was a sign outside saying that children eating alone or those without money could receive a free meal. I was impressed by the traditional community service displayed, like a guardian mother of the town. Being near the Children's Future Museum, if the city can nurture important children like this, Kyoto's future will be secure.
