Today, I had lunch here. The eggplant dish caught my eye, and it was delicious. The eggplant simmered in broth was tasty, and the stir-fried eggplant and pork was also delicious. Besides the spicy chicken dish, everything was delicious. I enjoyed the strawberry milk shaved ice, it was nostalgic and tasty. Thank you for the meal.

Today was another business trip to Kyoto. If I were alone, I would search for a ramen shop, but today I am with a colleague so we decided to come here instead. We arrived around 12 o'clock, and at that time it wasn't too crowded. The system here is self-service where you choose your side dishes, rice, soup, etc. and pay at the counter first. Although this type of cafeteria usually has plain menus, this place had a lot of attractive options. I selected... Shanghai-style fried noodles for 350 yen, Chicken Nanban for 200 yen, Ham cutlet for 100 yen, Nameko mushroom soup for 130 yen (all prices before tax). There were a lot of fried items and not many vegetables, but that's okay. If you take too many items, the price can add up quickly so I decided to keep it at this amount. It's a chain restaurant in the city, so the taste may vary. But it's not bad at all. The restaurant is quite spacious, but it started to fill up with customers as time passed, showing its popularity. It's fun to eat at this kind of cafeteria once in a while. Thank you for the meal.

The simmered fatty tuna was 275 yen, the green onion omelette was 209 yen, the spinach ohitashi was 143 yen, the rice was 143 yen, and the miso soup was 99 yen. The total was 869 yen. Compared to "Maido Ookini Dining," the variety of side dishes may be a bit limited. For this type of restaurant, it would be nice if they could put together a well-balanced meal for under 1,000 yen. I would have been happy if grated daikon radish was served with the green onion omelette. The taste of the miso soup wasn't quite to my liking, but overall, I am satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

However, there was a very unpleasant incident today. I ordered kake udon, which usually arrives quickly, but today it didn't come out even after 5 minutes or 10 minutes. Tired of waiting, I went to the kitchen to ask, and a staff member who was washing dishes said, "Oh! Sorry!" while wiping his hands and brought the bowl that had been sitting on the counter to my table. It seemed like the udon had been ready for a while but had been forgotten and left untouched. When I tried the udon, as I suspected, it had already become lukewarm. (;一_一)

When I went to this place for work, I thought it was a pork cutlet bowl restaurant based on the sign outside, but it turned out to be a set meal restaurant. Inside, there were a variety of side dishes displayed, and you could freely choose them and then pay at the end. Unfortunately, everything was cold unless it was freshly made. I picked grilled saury, stir-fried kimchi with pork, but they were not tasty being cold. They have a microwave so you can warm them up, but the taste would still be significantly lower compared to when it's freshly made. You can order rice and miso soup separately, which were served warm. If the food had been cold like this from the beginning, I might have left without eating. It might be good for people who want to try a variety of dishes, but I personally don't think I will go there again.

During work, I visited this restaurant for lunch. I was brought here by someone who loves this place. It was my first time hearing the name of this restaurant, but I found out that it is related to "The Meshiya" restaurant. The interior of the restaurant was very bright, maybe because of the color of the chairs. There was a wide variety of side dishes available, which was great. Since I had a long drive ahead of me that day, I decided to go for a light meal with a focus on salad, tamagoyaki, and miso soup. It was delicious and satisfying! I enjoyed being able to mix and match dishes at the self-service counter according to my preferences. Thank you for the meal!

2010/09 Revisited Too Much Sanma, Shijimi Miso Soup, Two Iwashi Simmered Dishes, ★☆ Matsutake Mushroom Rice, Side Dish (Free) All my favorites! I'm super happy that it didn't cost more than 1,000 yen. The food was a bit oily this time, but still good for lunch. 2008/09 Revisited I was told that I only eat fish. I had simmered mackerel, three iwashi dishes, and a medium-sized rice. 2009/08 Revisited Once again, it was all about fish. It's not particularly delicious, but I often visit this place, so I decided to share my experience. There aren't many restaurants around here, except for "Sato" nearby. Even during lunchtime, it can get busy, but you can usually find a seat. Self-service restaurants like this one tend to make you take too many side dishes, and before you know it, you've spent well over 1,000 yen. If you choose carefully, it doesn't have to be like that though. Personally, I like the simmered iwashi dish here.
