In September of the 28th year of Heisei, near Demachiyanagi Station in Kyoto City, there is a chain restaurant called "Torikizoku Demachiyanagi Store" that specializes in yakitori. Last time, my son and I drank too much, but this time, our family of four visited the restaurant. Since we didn't make a reservation, we had to wait for quite a while, which was my mistake. Once seated, we ordered drinks and lots of yakitori. The vegetables included cabbage, which is always delicious at yakitori restaurants. However, compared to last time, the seasoning of the yakitori was too strong and it seemed a bit overcooked. The cabbage was cut too boldly for serving to customers. When I ordered wine, it was spilled on the table without any apology, which felt a bit off. It was disappointing because the restaurant was good last time, and we came as a family this time. The only saving grace was that my family seemed to be enjoying themselves.
In November of the 27th year of Heisei, near Demachiyanagi Station in Kyoto City, there is a chain restaurant called "Torikizoku Demachiyanagi Store" that specializes in yakitori. "Torikizoku" offers all dishes and drinks for 280 yen each, which is very straightforward. We started with a toast with draft beer and ordered the "Dashi" with chicken breast and chopped vegetables from the speed menu. It was refreshing and delicious (you should try making it at home). Then, we kept ordering yakitori - chicken thigh, chicken breast, tsukune, liver, cartilage, seseri - all served on large skewers, and all freshly grilled and juicy, and delicious. Both the sauce and salt options were tasty. The beef skewers were also 280 yen, which is quite cheap. The "cold tomato" we ordered as a palate cleanser was surprisingly delicious, with very sweet tomatoes. The drinks, including the draft beer which was not a low-malt beer but a proper beer (Premium Malt), were also 280 yen each. Thanks to this, we were able to eat and drink to our heart's content. Thank you for the meal.
