Hisaya Lounge, a tea room that opened in October 2021, served me their Mont Blanc pancake. It had been a while since I last had the "king of chestnuts," the Tawara chestnut, and I was excited even before taking a bite. The Mont Blanc, finely pasted, had the smooth and sweet taste of chestnuts, truly delicious. At the top of the Mont Blanc mountain was Tawara chestnut simmered in Shibukawa style. The topping included whipped cream and a separate maple butter sauce. The staff advised not to pour the maple butter sauce all at once as it could melt the Mont Blanc. The sauce had a buttery aroma that complemented the chestnut flavor, so I drizzled just a little over the Mont Blanc and mostly dipped the pancake into it. The maple butter flavor spread throughout my mouth, bringing happiness. The pancake dough, with chestnuts kneaded into it, was moist and chewy, and the chestnut dough had a completely different aroma. The ambiance of the restaurant, with a lounge-like atmosphere on the second floor, exuded a sense of luxury. The open kitchen with a counter where you can watch the fresh squeezing process added to the experience. Priced at ¥2000, considering the use of Tawara chestnuts, it was a reasonable price. Opting for the drink set made it a bit on the expensive side, more like Azabu prices. I savored each bite and was completely satisfied with the Mont Blanc pancake. It was truly delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Snack - Mont Blanc Shaved Ice with Toshihira Chestnuts, Tea Set ¥2,600 (tax included) Located in Tokyo's Azabu-Juban, the sweet shop "HISAYA LOUNGE Tokyo Azabu-Juban Store" specializes in high-quality chestnuts from Kyoto's roasted chestnut specialty store "Hisaya." The shop is a two-story building, with a first floor selling chestnut sweets made with carefully selected chestnuts, and a second floor serving tea. Visited around 2:30 pm on a weekend, with a wait of about 25 minutes for two groups. The interior was mostly filled with female customers. Although there is a supposed 90-minute time limit, the turnover rate is slow. The menu includes meal options such as curry and set meals, but the main attraction this time was the shaved ice. The seasonal limited edition "Mont Blanc shaved ice with Toshihira chestnuts" arrived in 7-8 minutes. The shaved ice is made with plenty of Toshihira chestnut paste, with chestnut ice cream and chestnut cream inside, accompanied by fig sauce. The ingredients and combinations used are very appealing, but unfortunately, the ice itself is not very tasty, making it hard to enjoy. The Mont Blanc paste is also lacking in flavor, and the fig sauce is just sour without much fig flavor. Shaved ice is all about the ice itself. The additional ¥700 for the tea set also feels overpriced. There are plenty of more affordable and delicious shaved ice options out there.

Around 11:30 am on a regular weekday, dining alone. There were three groups of customers before me. Then, one more group arrived. I chose to sit at the counter. I couldn't decide between the Mont Blanc pancake and shaved ice, but I went with the limited-time Mont Blanc shaved ice. They made the shaved ice right in front of me, squeezing chestnut paste onto the ice and topping it with chestnuts and walnuts. The fig sauce was served separately. Sitting at the counter was a good choice! The ice was rock solid and compacted to prevent it from melting. The Mont Blanc was delicious! The different textures of chestnuts, syrup-soaked chestnuts, and walnuts were enjoyable. However, the plain ice didn't quite match the Mont Blanc. Ah, the fig sauce! When I tasted the fig sauce alone, it was like sweet bean paste. Oh, was it bean paste sauce? Finally, the ice started to take on some flavor. As I continued eating, I discovered ice cream and chestnut cream inside. Wow! It started to taste more like a Mont Blanc. But there was still too much plain ice. Maybe I should have mixed the fig sauce, Mont Blanc, ice cream, and chestnut cream earlier. Towards the end, when I mixed them together, it became easier to eat. I should have saved more of the fig sauce. It would have been nice to be able to order more. The presentation was excellent, and the service was polite. Maybe I ate the ice wrong. Next time, I think I'll go for the pancakes. Maybe the Mont Blanc again. Thank you for the meal.

I had always wanted to visit this restaurant. I was craving Mont Blanc. Finally, this month I was able to go. Since I hadn't eaten lunch, I ordered the obanzai set meal and added a half-size Mont Blanc. Soon, the set meal arrived. It included dishes like winter melon and simmered eggplant, with a gentle flavor, and chestnut rice. It was very satisfying with lots of chestnuts. Ah, it was delicious! I was looking forward to the Mont Blanc too. However, there was no sign of the dessert being brought to me. To make matters worse, a person who came after me and ordered the same thing as me received their Mont Blanc promptly. I thought it was strange, but I waited again, expecting mine to arrive soon. After a while, I decided to ask a staff member. They said, "We are preparing it now." Liar!!! They must have completely forgotten about it. There were three staff members in a restaurant that can be easily observed by one person, what were they even doing? It was disappointing and unpleasant. I will never go back there and I won't recommend it to my friends. I was so angry that I didn't even feel like taking a picture of the Mont Blanc.

After shopping, we stopped by this place. It was probably cool inside, but it was very hot while waiting in line on the stairs. The staff quickly took our bags and said, "We'll keep them here for you." From ordering to leaving, we had a very pleasant time. The place was spacious with high ceilings, which was nice. Oh, the Mont Blanc cake was the main thing. I debated between that and shaved ice, but since it was my first time, I went with the Mont Blanc cake. It came with warm black soybean tea as a bonus in a pot. The Mont Blanc was delicious, with matcha ice cream inside that made it lighter to eat than just cream. Mont Blanc is tasty but can be a bit rich, so this was perfect for summer. Highly recommended. It was a Saturday, but the place wasn't too crowded, and we truly enjoyed a comfortable time. Thank you very much!

I entered a shop for the first time in a long time. I finally got to try the Mont Blanc pancake from Ripei that was sold out last time. I ordered a tea set and an iced coffee. The pancakes were small and thin, two of them. I'm not sure how they differ from hotcakes, but leaving that aside, they had a cute and simple taste that felt familiar. The thin, delicate threads of paste, less than half of a Kyoto Mont Blanc, felt very pleasant in my mouth, with a fluffy texture and a moist finish. It's not too sweet, nor is it too mild, but I like both. This one leans towards being mild, I think. It feels somewhat elegant, yet also brings a sense of nostalgia. I enjoyed trying different flavors by adding a little maple butter sauce or a crispy cream.

I visited for lunch. It was a Saturday afternoon and I was worried about getting a table right away, but luckily I was able to get in! The restaurant was full by the time I left. The chestnut rice was delicious, but I wouldn't say it was great value for money... The udon was also tasty!

I went to this restaurant based on a recommendation from a friend! The atmosphere of the place was relaxing, and I enjoyed my meal at the counter. From the side dishes to dessert, everything was delightful! The chestnut rice was incredibly delicious!! The Mont Blanc dessert was also amazing with just the right amount of sweetness, allowing you to savor the true flavor of chestnuts. I definitely want to visit again. The shaved ice with fig sauce and chestnut ice cream inside was also delicious all the way through♪♪

I love Mont Blanc♡ The interior of the store is exactly like its name, a lounge. The sofas are very comfortable! This time, I ordered shaved ice (around 2500 yen with tea set) and Mont Blanc (around 2700 yen with tea set). They use different types of chestnuts, and I could really taste the rich and solid chestnut in the Mont Blanc. Inside, there is matcha ice cream and whipped cream!♡ I was pleasantly surprised as I was expecting meringue. The shaved ice is lightly sweet with a refreshing taste. It has fig sauce and chestnut cream inside. My partner thought it could use a bit more sweetness, but in this heat, something light like this is also good!♡ Thank you for the delicious meal♡

I also tried takeout! The incredibly delicious fresh dorayaki (330 yen) and roll cake (1,620 yen) ♡♡♡ I wonder if cowhide is used in the dorayaki? It's so chewy! I will definitely repeat this! Considering the cost performance, maybe this score? ♡ Thank you for the meal ♡

The atmosphere inside the restaurant was calming, and the desserts were delicious. However, the drink that came with the set was served after finishing the dessert (even after reminding twice), which was the only disappointing part. The iced tea with Japanese red tea was delicious! The rice menu also looked reasonably priced and appetizing, so I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

While the Mont Blanc is delicious, the warabi mochi has a tasty rating of around 3.8. However, the service is lacking - slow to respond when called, unwilling to bring more water when it runs out, mistakes in the dishes, delays in receiving the bill. Overall, it's a disappointing restaurant.

Specializing in high-quality chestnuts, this café offers luxurious chestnut sweets. I visited on a weekday afternoon and went inside. [What I ordered] Seasonal limited chilled sudachi udon (1,680 yen) comes with sudachi udon, chestnut rice, and a side dish. I had the seasonal limited chilled sudachi udon! Looking at the sudachi udon, it really makes you feel like summer. The noodles are made from the rare domestically produced wheat "Nourin 61," which has a great texture and taste. The broth is made from kombu, bonito, winter child, and dried sardines, giving it a gentle flavor. The chestnut rice was also delicious. I was able to enjoy a leisurely lunch in the calm atmosphere of the restaurant! Highly recommended for those who want to enjoy Mont Blanc and chestnut dishes! Thank you for the meal! If you'd like, please check out my other posts! I also have an Instagram (@ranko_foodie). Thank you!

The refreshing early summer weather between the rainy season was perfect for buying exquisite tea sweets for high-class gatherings, whether for work tour groups or for clients. As someone who enjoys selecting carefully, I found it quite enjoyable to choose for others, and I was good at it. Having been involved with high-quality products for many years, the differences were greatly appreciated by everyone. I also gather delicious food information by asking the managers. While chestnut curry is recommended, the mackerel sushi is apparently amazing and worth rushing for, just like during the tour guide days. I understand, and such delicious items are always the right choice in small quantities.

I happened to pass by the shop and decided to stop by. Their specialty is Mont Blanc, with matcha ice cream inside. I ordered Anmitsu, which came with two types of ice cream (black bean and kinako?) and was sweet enough even without the black syrup. The shiratama inside was made with tofu, giving it a light and chewy texture. The atmosphere of the shop was relaxed and I felt comfortable. I visited with a small child, and the staff were very considerate and helpful, which I appreciated. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful spot.

I visited around 11:00 on Sunday with the intention of having a meal, but seeing other people's orders, the portion sizes seemed larger than I expected, so I ended up getting only dessert. I had the Mont Blanc pancake with whipped cream and maple syrup. It was quite sweet, so those with a sweet tooth would enjoy it. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was elegant, and there were also families with children, making it a lovely space!

I was very satisfied with the sweetness I had last time, but this time I had lunch and a Mont Blanc set. The taste was very delicious, but the cost performance was just too bad, I was disappointed. With that amount, I couldn't get full. It would be nice to have at least a refill of chestnut rice. It's disappointing especially because I had high expectations.

I visited the restaurant as soon as it opened. The smell of freshly cooked rice filled the air. As soon as I entered the shop, I felt very hungry and immediately switched to lunch mode. They have a half dessert menu, perfect for those who want to enjoy both a meal and dessert. The Mont Blanc dessert had a hint of sweetness and a slight bitterness from the matcha ice cream inside. I devoured both the meal and dessert. The chestnut rice, filled with plenty of moist chestnuts, was also perfect!

On my day off, I like to take a stroll around Azabu-Juban in the heart of Tokyo. The area is known for its many restaurants and recently, there has been an increase in shops offering takeout sweets. One of the newer additions is HISAYA, a specialty store from Kyoto's Higashiyama district known for their chestnut sweets. Their takeout menu includes Mont Blanc cake, Mont Blanc soft serve ice cream, chestnut dorayaki, chestnut roll cake, chestnut rice, and more. On this occasion, I tried their Mont Blanc soft serve ice cream for 1,000 yen, half-size chestnut roll cake for 1,620 yen, and mini dorayaki for 150 yen. They also have a cafe space where they serve zenzai and anmitsu. For more details, please refer to the menu images. The Mont Blanc soft serve ice cream had a generous amount of chestnut paste on top of vanilla soft serve. The chestnut flavor was subtle, and personally, I prefer the paste to be a bit thicker for a more enjoyable texture. The chestnut roll cake, a collaboration with Mon Cher Shu Shu's Doshima roll, was outstandingly delicious. Mon Cher Shu Shu's Doshima roll is still one of the best in the roll cake industry. As for the mini dorayaki, it was average. While the branding is good, the satisfaction level doesn't quite match the price range.

I was interested in the Sakura Mont Blanc and tried to order it, but it was sold out. I was feeling sad, but the staff kindly explained the deliciousness of the regular Mont Blanc in detail, so I decided to order that instead. The service was pleasant! They continued to be attentive and caring, which made me happy. The Mont Blanc had matcha ice cream inside, giving it a unique flavor that I haven't experienced elsewhere. I would love to visit again.
