In the evening after work, I went cycling with my partner in search of delicious food. We came across a sign for beef tongue and steak, and couldn't resist stopping to check it out. I was excited to find a place in Kyoto where I could eat beef tongue. The restaurant had just opened, and the chef was still setting up the showcase. He explained the meat of the day while we enjoyed ice-cold bottled beer. I decided to try the beef sashimi, which was tender and sweet, perfect with garlic soy sauce. I was really looking forward to trying the beef tongue next, but unfortunately, it was only available by reservation, and that day they only had tongue stew. So, I ordered the rolled omelet and oxtail steak instead. By this time, I was on my third beer. The rolled omelet arrived first, and I decided to leave it untouched. Then, the oxtail steak arrived, looking quite different from what I expected. The restaurant's oxtail steak was cooked until it was soft and tender, then grilled. It was innovative and delicious, although the seasoning seemed a bit plain with just soy sauce. I would have liked it even more with a bit more creativity in the seasoning. Next time, I will definitely go back to try the beef tongue! Thank you for the meal!
