There are several Taj Mahal Everest restaurants in Kyoto and Osaka, and I was curious about the one nearby. On this day, after winning the ticket war, I planned to go to Osaka in the afternoon to see the "Okaasan to Issho Special Stage" performance, so I stopped by here on my way to the station. Indian curry restaurants like this often have options for children, and this one also has a children's lunch menu, which is reassuring. The restaurant is small, but cozy, with bench seating on one side of the table seats. There is also counter seating and tatami seating on the second floor. The lunch menu is extensive, offering a variety of curry options with a choice of spiciness levels from mild to very spicy, which is rare! They also have regular curry rice, which is unusual! Personally, I appreciate when lunches come with a drink. I ordered the following: Half Cheese Naan Lunch - 950 yen (1 curry, half cheese naan, salad, soup, drink), Chicken Curry Lunch - 980 yen (2 curries, plain naan, salad, soup, drink), and Kids Lunch - 580 yen (chicken curry, half naan or rice, salad, wiener, drink). The salad and soup were served promptly after ordering. The dressing on the salad was unique but rich and delicious. The main dishes arrived just as we finished the appetizers. The Half Cheese Naan Lunch was generous with cheese and the curry was flavorful. The spinach curry was not very spicy despite ordering it as "normal" spiciness. The Kids Lunch chicken curry was sweet and flavorful, and the separate plate for rice was convenient for children. The lassi drink was also served generously. I would like to revisit this place as it is nearby and child-friendly.
