After slowly enjoying matcha soft serve at Kyoto Wamikan Romankan, I discovered a shop with a weathered sign near Sanjo along the Thirty-Three Kencho. Since it wasn't listed, I decided to register it. I wonder how many years it has been in business. It turned out to be a shop selling nama-yatsuhashi. I bought a pack for 250 yen to see what it was like. The crispy burnt soy sauce flavor was very good. I thought there was only one type, but it actually came with three varieties. There was one with sesame mixed in and a slightly lighter soy sauce flavor. The senbei was crispy and you had to break it to eat it, but it was delicious enough even without breaking it. I enjoyed the senbei. It would make a nice and affordable souvenir.
