I used this place for the second time, but I missed it again. It's a really hard-to-find shop. There were quite a few customers inside. It was cool, and there were lots of cute items on the tables. I had honey-topped cheesecake and coffee. They gave me a small bottle of honey to take home. I used a little and took the rest home, which made me happy. The rich cheesecake paired well with the refreshing coffee. The honey was very sweet.

Stylish and popular café located deep in a back alley off Karasuma in Kyoto. The impressive white noren exudes an elegant atmosphere. The modern interior of the café has photo spots at each table, allowing customers to freely take photos using various accessories and goods. All sweets are handmade on-site, including the voluminous croissant sandwich and cheesecake baked in the café. The "Custom Sour" is also popular, where customers can create their own sour drink by choosing the alcohol content, flavor, and type of fruit, with over 20,000 possible combinations. Order: Whole cheesecake croissant sandwich (1200 yen) - A crispy croissant filled with a slice of cheesecake, topped with vanilla ice cream. The caramel-flavored cheese topping adds a subtle salty accent.

It was a really hard-to-find place. The cozy atmosphere was wonderful. By around 3 pm, it was fully booked. Surprisingly, the menu was reasonably priced. The cheesecake was very rich. The iced tea was refreshing. The interior was stylish and great for taking photos.

When you go down a narrow alley, you will find a lovely café at the end. The entrance has a cake showcase, creating a nice atmosphere. Visited the café at 3 o'clock. The space is cozy and relaxing. My companion had a banana parfait, while I had a matcha and cheesecake set. I thought it was reasonably priced, but to my surprise, the dishes were plastic. Oh well, it's cheap after all. I took a few sips of the matcha and then asked for a cappuccino. The matcha cheesecake came with matcha sauce, while the regular cheesecake had honey drizzled on top. Unfortunately, the flavors didn't quite suit our taste. It might be a nice place to relax or have a chat when you want to take it easy.

A hidden gem of a shop. I didn't even know it was right near Daimaru. The interior is stylish! They only serve croissant lunches, but they're delicious - crispy croissants with prosciutto, cheese, and basil sauce. Also, strawberry and pistachio cream. The croissants are a bit small (lol) - it wouldn't hurt to have a bit more volume! They offer fruit cocktails with alcohol content ranging from 0% to 10%!

Hidden alley cafe☕*°ˎˊ˗ sinoa♡Kyoto❤︎ Karasuma♡my pick! - Strawberry and pistachio cream croissant sandwich - Melon cream soda♡ I've always wanted to go to this place♡ It's tucked away in a narrow alley, easy to miss haha. Salted caramel milk tea croissant sandwich with whole cheesecake inside, strawberry and pistachio cream croissant sandwich, located behind Daimaru. It's down a narrow road that might make you wonder if this is the right place. There was a male staff member, but I don't think he works here. The female staff, on the other hand, was very friendly and quick to respond when called. The popular item is the cheesecake croissant sandwich, with a full cheesecake inside making it very filling. The pistachio one was lighter in volume and even kids could finish it easily. The cheesecake itself was delicious, and the caramel cheese topping with a hint of salt added a nice touch, perfect for Instagram-worthy photos. The interior of the shop was clean, stylish, and cozy, making it a pleasant place to hang out. I ordered the salted caramel milk tea to enjoy slowly after my meal, but when it arrived, it was surprisingly lukewarm and overly salty! I wondered if they made it fresh or had it sitting out for a while. It was so salty that even when they brought a hot one, I couldn't drink it, so I left about two sips. I was a bit shocked by how salty it was, even though it was salted caramel. Despite that, the croissants were incredibly delicious, but this drink might not be my cup of tea. Overall, it's a chic cafe where you can relax without time constraints, with friendly female staff, hidden in a cozy spot, serving delicious croissants. It was a lovely experience.

A hidden gem of a shop that is so hidden, you might not find it unless you're really looking. They offer a variety of drinks including customizable "Fruit Sour" with your choice of fruits and toppings, bamboo charcoal roasted coffee (iced or hot for 450 yen each), Assam tea (iced or hot for 450 yen each), and a "Matcha Set with Two Types of Cheesecake" (800 yen). The Baked Cheesecake with miel mie honey for 600 yen was delicious with a rich cheese flavor. The Uji Matcha Cheesecake from Tsujiki with a special rich matcha sauce for 600 yen was also tasty. The croissants were all very delicious, and I definitely want to come back for more.

I went to a cafe after lunch. It's nice to have such a cozy place behind Daimaru. It was around 2 o'clock, so I could relax. The croissant was cut with a fork and knife, but wait, it's not cutting. It's not crispy, but rather moist. I ordered the pistachio cream with red bean paste, and although it tasted good, the pistachio flavor was a bit subtle. I think this is a good place for young people.

I used it during cafe time. I had a ham, cheese, and basil croissant, so I ate it more as a light meal than a snack. It was refreshing and delicious! Next time, I would like to try the sweet strawberry croissant.

In Kyoto, it can be a bit tricky to find the entrance to the unique shops hidden in the alleyways. They serve a croissant toast with cheesecake and vanilla ice cream sandwiched in between. They finish it off by pouring cheese on top right in front of you! It would be convenient if they offered set menus since you can only order food and drinks separately.

Opened on April 15, 2022, just a 2-minute walk from Karasuma Station, this shop is popular for its specialty cheesecakes, croissant sandwiches, and custom sours. I ordered the ❤️ Strawberry and Pistachio Cream Croissant Sandwich for ¥700 (tax included) ❤️ Classic Strawberry Sour for ¥800 (tax included). The croissant sandwich had a firm texture with pistachio cream and strawberries sandwiched in between. It was a bit difficult to cut with a knife, so I ended up taking a big bite instead. This time, I went for the classic strawberry sour instead of the custom sour. It had fresh strawberries and frozen strawberries mixed in, giving it a delightful texture. The tables were decorated with cute items, perfect for Instagram-worthy photos. It was nice to relax in such a calming space. Since it's a newly opened shop, it might be a hidden gem. ⚠️ Reservations are available via DM on the shop's Instagram account. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again. 🥰

It is located a little off the main street facing Daimaru. The street is not crowded and the interior of the store has a calm atmosphere, making it a comfortable space. I tried the cheesecake, which was delicious with its moist cookie crust and rich cheese. It was tasty on its own, but even better with the included honey and whipped cream, which made it smoother. I'm not a big fan of heavy cream, but the sweetness was just right and I could eat as much as I wanted. I would definitely like to go back again.

Golden Week mode has ended, and updates are now in normal mode since yesterday. Continuing from yesterday, today's three topics are all about interesting restaurants making their debut on this blog. In the 2022 New Restaurant Exploration Journal #86, we introduce "BENJAMIN STEAKHOUSE Kyoto," located in the southern part of the city, hidden away in a back alley. It's the kind of place you might not notice unless you happen to pass by. Opened on April 15th, "sinoa" in Kyoto's Karasuma area is a newly opened spot with a limited menu. I tried their Croissant Sandwich with Cheesecake and Vanilla Ice Cream, priced at 1200 yen. The croissant, cheesecake, and ice cream were all homemade, topped with caramel cheese for a unique finishing touch. They even asked if I wanted them to record a video while drizzling the cheese, so it seems like a picturesque moment worth capturing.

I went to visit a newly opened restaurant that I had heard about. The restaurant is located at the end of a narrow alleyway that gives off a Kyoto vibe. Even though I frequently pass by that area, I initially got lost trying to find it. Despite being newly opened, I had heard that it was difficult to make a reservation and there would be long lines, so I arrived 15 minutes before opening time. There was already a couple waiting in front of me. The restaurant opened at 11 o'clock and first called in the reserved customers, then proceeded to seat people in the order they arrived. Luckily, I was able to get a seat and entered the restaurant. I ordered the "Cheesecake Croissant Sandwich" that I had been looking forward to. Surprisingly, many customers were ordering the Strawberry and Pistachio Croissant Sandwich. You can also request a non-alcoholic sour drink. The cheesecake was rich and delicious! I want to try the matcha cheesecake next time, so I will definitely be going back.

At a shop hidden in an alley, with a sign above the entrance of the alley, I almost missed the alley and passed by it once without Google Maps. I decided to visit this shop because I was attracted by the fact that you can choose whether or not to have alcohol in any of the fruit sours. As for COVID-19 measures, there were hand sanitizers, masks worn by the staff. There was a machine for temperature checks mentioned on Tabelog, but it was just placed on a shelf and not used specifically. I was guided to any seat I liked, and was informed that the croissant sandwich was sold out, so I decided between the honey-baked cheesecake with honey, which I like, and the non-alcoholic strawberry sour. ■ Shop's response There were no other customers in the store, and even though the staff was visible at the register, they did not respond no matter how many times I called out, so I kept calling out at intervals, and finally, 15 minutes later, they finally noticed and came over to me. ■ About the products The strawberry sour arrived first, with quite a lot of strawberries in it, but they were frozen solid... maybe they were meant to be like ice. Next, the baked cheesecake arrived. It came with whipped cream and mint, looking delicious. Strangely, there was no honey included, even though I expected it to be there based on Instagram and website photos. When I asked if the honey was inside the cheesecake when paying at the table, they admitted they forgot to put it, and gave me a bottle of honey as a service. This response was appreciated. If the honey is missing, it might be a good idea to tell the staff. The baked cheesecake was quite sweet and delicious, so eating it with the sweet and sour strawberries in the strawberry sour created a good balance and made it even more delicious. ■ Inside the shop There were many small items placed on each table, making it easy to take photos and aiming for a photogenic look. It's interesting how they are placed for easy photography, and those who can take good photos are surely captured beautifully. Next time, I want to go early and try the croissant sandwich.

I went to a newly opened cafe! I tried their popular croissant sandwich, and it was surprisingly delicious with a good balance of sweetness and saltiness. The croissant seemed to be baked in store and was very tasty. I want to try their other menu items as well! The interior of the cafe was also cute!

I saw a croissant sandwich that looked great on Instagram, so I searched for the shop and found out it had recently opened. I went there right away. The menu includes cheesecake, croissant sandwiches, and customizable fruit sours. As I walked down the back alley, a chic Kyoto townhouse appeared. Inside, the white walls and wooden pillars created a casual atmosphere, which was quite surprising. I ordered the whole cheesecake croissant sandwich for 1,200 yen and Assam tea for 450 yen. The croissant was filled with pistachio cream, strawberry confiture, crumble, cheesecake, vanilla ice cream, and caramel cheese, creating an impressive presentation. The combination of the rich cheesecake, salty crumble, and croissant dough was incredibly delicious. Despite its size, the balance of sweetness and saltiness made it disappear quickly. The staff recommended the cheesecake made with matcha from Tsujiki in Shirakawa, Kyoto, as well as their drinks and baked goods. I will definitely have to visit frequently. Check out my blog "Yossy's Kansai Gourmet Food Walk" too!

It was located in a back alley off Higashitoin-dori Kinkaku. There were no signs along the street, so you wouldn't know it was there unless you knew. There were many congratulations on the opening, so I think it's probably a corporate-run place. The interior has been renovated quite a bit and has a casual feel. I tried the matcha cheesecake made with the highest quality matcha from Tsujiki, a producer in Uji Shirakawa. It looks creamy, but surprisingly leaves a lingering feeling in the mouth. I also tried the honey milk tea, as it had the name of Meal Me. I usually like my coffee at a lower temperature, but I could drink this one in one go. The taste of honey was a bit subtle. The infection prevention measures seemed quite different from what was stated on Tabelog, so it's tough if it's not actually a certified store for COVID-19 measures. I've seen some PR reviews, but it's better to check the menu and confirm if it meets your needs before going.
