Today, I visited Stream restaurant in Kyoto for dinner, where Chef Ueda, who was involved in the opening of Nijo Yamagishi, showcases his skills. Known for his work as a traveling chef involved in the launch of Nijo Yamagishi, Chef Ueda has now been entrusted with Stream. The dishes, including grilled eel and white fish, as well as simmered dishes in a pot, have a solid and satisfying taste. The accompaniments for the clay pot rice include mentaiko, enoki mushrooms, and tiny dried fish, familiar from Yamagishi. While there are no surprising or innovative dishes, Stream offers reliably delicious food. I recommend it. Today's menu: Chef's course for 17,600 yen, including sea urchin chawanmushi, flounder marinated in kelp, sashimi, and more. Additional drinks are included.

It's still a new restaurant and I must say it was delicious. The broth was delicate and just to my liking. The prices were reasonable and the overall value was good. What surprised me was the eel dish. I had never experienced such a texture before - crispy on the outside and melting on the inside. The chef apparently loves eel, and it showed in the dish. The red snapper tempura and the karasumi were also incredibly tasty. Finally, the rice in the clay pot was refillable, so you can eat to your heart's content. The young chef in his early 30s has a great sense of cooking and is humble and down-to-earth. He was kind to his apprentices as well. The lunch menu is eel-focused and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this place. The restaurant is surrounded by many other shops, so it took me a bit to find it. Once you go up the main staircase, the restaurant is immediately on the right. I confidently recommend this place.

There is a shop on the second floor of a building on the south side of Higashitoin Sanjo Nishiiru in Kyoto. The entrance to the shop is hard to find, suitable for a hidden gem. The dishes are all delicious and beautifully presented, making me want to come back season after season. They also serve eel lunch sets during the day. Here is the menu for this visit: - Steamed clam rice bowl - Kelp-marinated and seared golden eye snapper with grilled turban shell - Conger eel and corn sesame tofu, clear soup with bracken - Tempura of whole baby goby with grated taro sauce - Grilled eel with truffle salt - Red miso braised pork and Kamo eggplant in a teriyaki style - Fruit tomato and nagaimo somen with sea urchin for chopstick rest - Rice cooked in a clay pot with mentaiko, enoki mushrooms, and dried baby sardines - Refills come with eel rice served with Nara pickles as an accent - Homemade sugar cane pudding and melon

I found a delicious restaurant. I went there because I often see it on SNS recently. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was not too formal, and the chef was a kind and friendly person. The food was delicate but not overly decorated, and the prices were relatively reasonable, making me feel like I got a good deal. It seems like it will fill up quickly, so I recommend making a reservation for the next visit.

In Kyoto's Karasuma Oike area, there is a new Japanese restaurant called "Stream" where you can enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine in a space that combines innovative industrial design. The young chef, Tatsuya Ueda, who honed his skills at Kyoto's traditional Japanese restaurants "Charcoal-fired Kappo Ifuki" and "Nijo Yamagishi," showcases his unique techniques. The course menu is priced at 16,000 yen (excluding tax). Ueda's dishes make use of seasonal ingredients and skillfully incorporate his own aesthetic sense into traditional Japanese cuisine. In addition to premium ingredients, seasonal ingredients are also included, allowing you to enjoy a truly luxurious dining experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy, with a small counter seating for 9 guests. Currently operating on a single seating system, there are plans to introduce a double seating system in the future. Reservations can be made through the restaurant booking site "TERIYAKI Booking."

Stream 〘Kyoto Karasuma〙 ... Found in Kyoto! A Japanese restaurant with a repeat rate of over 100%! If you want to feel happy, you should definitely go there~~~ Finally went to Stream! It's a traditional Japanese restaurant! The food, service, and smiles were all perfect~~~ - Omakase Course - 17,600 yen (tax included) ★ Appetizer: Steamed clams and thin bean half slice ★ Sashimi: Alfonsino marinated in kelp, saury, and raw yam noodles ★ Soup: Sweet sea bream with plum sesame tofu and yellow chives ★ Fried dish: Oyster fry with nori, Gorgonzola, and sansho soy sauce ★ Grilled dish: Grilled eel with white birch ★ Hot pot: Firefly squid and raw wakame with olive ponzu ★ Grilled dish: Duck charcoal-grilled with Daikokuji natto soy sauce and kumquat ★ Rice dish: Rice in a clay pot with plenty of side dishes (yuzu mentaiko, shredded shiso, simmered enoki) From start to finish, every dish felt like a star without any waste. I want to have an eel bowl next time, maybe at the end~~~ The firefly squid and young sprouts were also amazingly delicious! I ended up having three extra bowls of rice from the clay pot (laughs). Isn't this really cost-effective? The staff's wonderful smiles made it the best dining experience ever!!

Located about a 3-minute walk from Karasuma Oike Station on the subway in Kyoto, this restaurant, "Charcoal-fired Japanese cuisine Ifuki," opened in November last year. Chef Tatsuya Ueda, who honed his skills at a renowned Kyoto restaurant, serves modern Japanese cuisine in a serene setting with only 9 seats at the L-shaped counter. The course menu costs 16,000 yen and features traditional Japanese dishes incorporating seasonal ingredients. The charcoal-grilled eel was particularly delicious, with crispy skin and tender flesh. While the lack of meat in the course menu was a bit disappointing, the shiny rice cooked in an earthenware pot was irresistible, especially when paired with the delicious side dishes. The meal also included dishes like clam and turnip chawanmushi, two types of sashimi, sesame tofu soup, shrimp spring rolls, grilled sea bream, white asparagus with red clam and firefly squid, and more. The highlight was the white-grilled and teriyaki eel, which was my favorite dish of the day. The meal ended with a comforting clay pot rice and a delightful dessert of milk pudding and white wine jelly with fresh persimmon.

Located near Karasuma, with a convenient location. I'm tired of hearing where chefs trained, but the owner here apparently trained at top-notch places like Ifukiya, Tomikoji, and Yama-gishi. The restaurant has a pretentious name, "Donaiyan Stream," but the food is classic Japanese cuisine. The drinks are also plentiful and delicious. Surprisingly, even after being open for a year, it seems like it's still not well-known. You can still make reservations easily now, so be sure to check it out.

A must-visit restaurant for receptions and special occasions. The head chef, who trained at "Ibuki" and "Yamagishi," was a young talent. The taste, presentation, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch. In particular, the freshly cooked rice topped with raw egg at the end was delightful, and I ended up having 7 helpings. When visiting Kyoto, this is a great restaurant to stop by.
