The triangle-shaped popcorn is super cute! It's light and perfect as a souvenir. The Sichuan pepper flavor was delicious. The natural popcorn is great for souvenirs from Kyoto. It's fun to choose different flavors like kinako.

Located on the east side of Kitayama Shimmachi. Commonly known as the Motomachi school district! About a 7-8 minute walk from the north exit of either Kitayama Station or Kitaoji Station. This shop opened about 2 years ago after the short bar. "Natural Popcorn" Kameyoshi! Actually, it's Kameyoshi Kitayama Lab! The turtle lives for ten thousand years, while the crane lives for a thousand years, so it's good luck! The flavors include Kyoto-grown sansho pepper, Uji matcha, Kyoto's Wamisato sugar, Maiko-san approved black honey, kinako powder, Yuhigaura salt, and the most popular, sansho pepper! The corn is grown in a field somewhere. It's a village called Hirokawara, located at the northernmost tip of Kyoto City, about a two-hour drive away. They specially grow a type of corn called Bakuretsu-shu. It's best to visit the shop, pick up a pamphlet, and have a conversation. There are new flavors not listed in the pamphlet. I also added the pamphlet for reference. The corn looks delicious, with a beautiful color between yellow and orange, similar to the color of yamabuki. It would make a great souvenir from Kyoto at around 500-600 yen per bag. The scenery of Miyama and Yamakuni where they grow is worth a visit. They are closed on Thursdays and open from 11:00 to 17:00.

Located to the northwest of Kitaoji Station, along Shinmachi Street, is Kyoto Kameyoshi. This popcorn specialty shop has emerged in an area known for famous traditional Japanese sweets shops like Kyozuki and Shiranogenmizu. At first, I was surprised to find popcorn in Kyoto, but here they use Kyoto-grown "Bakuretsu" corn and offer a variety of flavors inspired by Kyoto. The store's interior is compact with a natural color scheme of white and wood (perhaps inspired by corn kernels). Popcorn and dried corn (which can be used to make popcorn at home) are displayed inside. Among the various flavors available, I chose the Biyama Ashu's Tochi Honey (\690) and Black Honey Kinako (\600) this time. The Tochi Honey from Biyama Ashu is made from high-quality honey collected by Japanese honeybees in the mysterious area of Ashu in Miyama Town, Kyoto, where primeval forests still remain. It has a unique flavor that lets you feel the power of nature. The Black Honey Kinako is made using black honey and kinako powder made from soybeans roasted and ground on-site or sourced from Kyoto North. Both are delicious, but personally, I preferred the Black Honey Kinako. The size of the popcorn is noticeably smaller compared to brands like Garrett's, but the flavoring allows you to taste the popcorn itself. Although the price is a bit high, I thought of savoring it slowly, but ended up finishing it quickly. This snack allows you to taste the essence of Kyoto's land and would make a great souvenir.

It's a popcorn specialty store. I went to buy it to fulfill my promise with my niece. The shop had a stylish and simple interior. There were 5 types of popcorn lined up, and I chose salt (500 yen) and wasanbon sugar (610 yen). The prices were okay. I felt that the popcorn was elegant and light. I personally preferred the salt flavor. There were various things written in the store, and I could feel the dedication to the ingredients in the taste of the popcorn. I will try different flavors next time.

After the Obon holiday, you can sample souvenirs from various regions. One person who went to Kyoto brought back a unique flavored popcorn. The flavors were: - Wasanbon: A smooth and elegant sweetness, not too sweet, you can eat as much as you want. - Kujo Negi: The idea of seasoning with green onions is quite something! It really has a green onion flavor, not sweet, more like a salty green onion taste. It was a unique treat! Long vacations are great! Thank you for the meal!

I received this popcorn as a gift in January. The flavors included ripe sansho pepper, Japanese brown sugar, salt, honey from Toyohashi, and black honey and soybean flour. The corn used is grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers in Kyoto. The packaging is stylish and vacuum-sealed. The honey flavor was delicious, with a high-quality taste. It's a small amount but very satisfying. I couldn't afford it myself, but it would make a great gift. It's light and tasty.
