I decided to buy the basic "Simple Potato Croquette" for 108 yen each. The croquette was delicious with a fluffy texture and a hint of sweetness from the potato, no sauce needed. In the end, I finished eating it without adding any sauce (laughs). This is definitely a shop I would like to have nearby.

I visited the store in Kyoto Isetan in the afternoon on December 25, 2015. There are many Kobe croquette shops, but the one in Kyoto Isetan is convenient and easy to use. On this day, they were selling a Christmas croquette set for 999 yen, so I bought it. In addition to croquettes, it also included fried chicken, potato fries, and they were delicious. Kobe croquettes are usually expensive, but it's a good deal to use them on special occasions like Christmas. I recommend it.

I tried the miso katsu sandwich at Komeda Coffee and became very interested in miso katsu! I found these miso katsu skewers at a shop in the department store basement. Overall, the miso katsu skewers had a rich and flavorful taste. They were even more delicious than the miso sauce in Komeda's miso katsu sandwich. I am now even more curious about the depth of Nagoya's cuisine!

Wow!! Whenever I go to "JR Kyoto Isetan", there is always a shop I visit - "Kobe Croquette JR Kyoto Isetan store" on the basement 2nd floor food department. When returning from Kyoto to Tokyo in the evening, I stopped by this shop located on the B2F of Kyoto Isetan in JR Kyoto Station Building the next morning to buy side dishes. The shop's specialty is croquettes made with Kobe beef, and this time I purchased the Kobe beef croquette and menchi katsu. The staff included a paper with instructions on how to reheat them at home, which was very helpful for me the next day. Following the instructions, I reheated them and enjoyed the croquette with fluffy potatoes and the juicy menchi katsu.

The food in the basement of the department store is relatively affordable and convenient. They offer lunch sets that are perfect for housewives, and when paired with rice, it makes for a rich meal. In addition to sets, you can also buy croquettes individually and mix and match for dinner.

I felt like having a little snack, so I decided to try the Kobe croquette here. They had just made some potato and beef croquettes, so I got one to go. I used my Mitsukoshi Isetan shareholder discount card for 10% off, and then paid with a department store gift card, so it was a good deal. I decided to eat it right away. Since it was freshly made, it was warm and the Kobe beef and potatoes went well together, making it quite delicious. It's a nice snack for when you're a little hungry.

I was drawn to the Kyoto-produced bamboo shoot croquette for ¥195 at the Kobe Croquette in the basement of Kyoto Isetan. I lined up and purchased it. It was delicious with plenty of crunchy bamboo shoots. The simple potato croquette for ¥108 was also tasty.

Today, when returning from Kyoto to Tokyo, I bought shrimp fry and fried chicken at this store for my child's dinner side dish. Shrimp fry had a firm texture and the tartar sauce that came with it was also good. The fried chicken had breast meat in it, but it was soft and easy to eat. Kyoto is full of delicious Japanese and Western food.

I wandered around the depachika (basement food floor) of Kyoto Isetan. I bought three types of croquettes for takeout lunch. The "Honzuwai Crab Cream Croquette" was incredibly delicious! It came with a tomato-based sauce that was also tasty. The "Simple Potato Croquette" had a strong potato flavor. The "Delicious Cabbage Cutlet" was disappointing as I was expecting cabbage menchi but it turned out to be more like okonomiyaki. Failed.
