It's raining, isn't it? Due to the rain and COVID, we can't go anywhere even on our day off. Around lunchtime, we decided to eat at a nearby restaurant, Maruhara-san, with my family. We parked in the spacious parking lot and went inside the restaurant. It was crowded with customers as it was lunchtime. We were seated at a table and checked the menu. I decided to go for the classic meat soba! They had a set menu with teppanyaki fried rice, so I ordered the set with meat soba and teppanyaki fried rice! While waiting, I poured cold green tea from the pitcher on the table and waited. There were various condiments on the table, including unique ones like spicy miso and pickled mustard greens. Those who like to customize their flavors would be happy. After a while, the dishes arrived...
- Teppanyaki Fried Rice Set: 890 yen (meat soba, small teppanyaki fried rice)
First, the teppanyaki fried rice arrived, followed quickly by the ramen. I quickly mixed the beaten egg into the teppanyaki fried rice to prevent it from burning! Since the teppanyaki fried rice arrived first, I hurriedly mixed it! I actually wanted to eat a bit of ramen first and then have the fried rice, but because the teppanyaki plate was hot, I had to eat it quickly to prevent it from drying out or burning. The hot and fluffy fried rice was delicious! It had just the right amount of saltiness, and the egg and green onions added a subtle sweetness and bitterness, doing a great job. Hot and fluffy fried rice is always delicious, isn't it? Next was the ramen. The soy sauce soup with floating lard, pork, sliced onions, green onions, orange-colored grated daikon, and seaweed on top. I tried the soup first. It had a refreshing soy sauce flavor with a hint of sweetness from the pork and onions. In terms of flavor, it was similar to the ramen at Kamiza, I think. I mixed in the orange-colored grated daikon to add a refreshing touch while still enjoying the richness of the lard and the depth of the broth. The noodles were medium-thin and straight, which I think paired well with this soup. It was a delicious ramen that was refreshing yet satisfying, complemented by the hot and fluffy fried rice. Since it's a neighborhood restaurant, we'll definitely be back! Thank you for the meal! PS: The rating of this restaurant was surprisingly low, but maybe my taste buds are just different? If you like Kamiza, you'll probably like this ramen too!
