For my work lunch, I had my go-to Aged Soy Sauce Ramen at Marugen Ramen Katsura branch. It looked rich and spicy with added garlic chips, but the taste was surprisingly light and refreshing. The flavor and portion were just right! I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal!

I went to my favorite Marugen Ramen. I always order the Niku Soba for 690 yen, and during weekdays lunch, with an additional 220 yen, you can get extra fried rice for free, making the total 910 yen. The parking lot is spacious, and the restaurant is also large, so you can always find a seat right away. I love the Yuzu Oroshi, Doro Dare, and the vinegar for changing the taste. The soup is extremely hot, so be careful not to burn your mouth with the first sip.

Lunch break at work. The aged soy sauce ramen here looks rich, but it's actually light and delicious. I've always liked ramen with rice, so I had a small rice bowl today. I might have eaten too much, but it was so good that I'll definitely come back again. The staff inside were all lively and attentive.

Beef soba for 690 yen (excluding tax) with an option for extra noodles for about 130 yen. I stopped by after a long time and the taste hasn't changed, it was delicious in this heat! However, the price for an extra serving of noodles has increased to 150 yen, and the regular portion of noodles is small, making the extra serving necessary (in my personal opinion). I was shocked by the price increase. Actually, their soft-serve ice cream is also delicious! Definitely give it a try!

Marugen Ramen Review Rating: 3.07 (as of posting date) "Niku Soba Charhan Set (¥979) with Kaedama (¥132) and Hanjuku Nitamago (¥110)" Points Founded in 2001, this ramen chain currently has nearly 200 stores nationwide, with 2 locations in Kyoto at Kamikatsura and Minami Interchange. It is under the same company as Yakiniku King (Monogatari Corporation). They blend 3 types of soy sauce and use over 20 ingredients in their ramen. App members can enjoy discounts with coupons. Kyoto stores are open until 1 am. It is a 10-minute walk from Hankyu Kamikatsura Station. [Review & Thoughts] Marugen Ramen (Monogatari Corporation), headquartered in Aichi Prefecture with its first store, has expanded to nearly 200 stores nationwide. Many are located along national highways or near interchanges, with parking available for convenient access by car, making it particularly recommended for families. Marugen Ramen's highlight is the carefully simmered pork. This pork uses a rare cut that considers the ratio of lean meat to fat, enhancing the meaty flavor that pairs well with the soup. I would like to try it in a beef bowl as well. The teppanyaki-style fried rice is served with an egg cracked on top after being served, offering a visually enjoyable and unique fried rice experience! Be sure to visit when you spot it during a drive! Thank you for the meal. [Business Hours] 11:00-1:00 the next day (last order 0:30) Closed on irregular days.

I used to avoid this restaurant because I had a bad experience before, but a friend recommended it saying it was delicious. I tried Marugen Ramen and it was amazing. It was completely different from before. I realized why it's so popular. You should definitely visit this place. The fried rice with egg on top was also fantastic!

This is our third visit as a family with children. There are many tables and tatami rooms, children's menus, and toy services available. The ramen has flavors that even women enjoy, making it a recommended ramen shop for families where the husband wants to eat ramen with everyone.

I stopped by Marugen Ramen for the first time. I saw the commercial for their Niku Soba and it made me want to try it. However, with the hot weather outside, I ended up ordering the cold noodles instead. The noodles were served quickly and were delicious. The soup was also tasty. They had pickled vegetables and kimchi on the table for extra flavor. The restaurant was clean and spacious, with both box seats and counter seats available. It was a convenient place to enjoy a meal, whether you're dining alone or with family. Thank you for the meal!

A casual and clean restaurant with a family-friendly atmosphere, suitable for dates or hanging out with friends. The place is spacious and can accommodate groups of 2 to 6 people, making it very convenient. The pork ramen is especially delicious, surpassing even the 3.5 rating on Tabelog. Instead of chashu, the ramen comes with pork slices, giving it a unique twist. I recommend trying the Aged Soy Sauce Ramen with Flavored Egg and Pork Ramen. I always order the Aged Soy Sauce Ramen with Flavored Egg and Pork Ramen, double meat, extra noodles, firm noodles. I find that ordering extra noodles instead of a noodle refill allows the noodles to soak up the soup better and taste more delicious. The firm noodles are definitely tastier. Despite being busy, the restaurant is spacious with plenty of seats, so even during peak hours, you can usually get a table after a short wait.

It's raining, isn't it? Due to the rain and COVID, we can't go anywhere even on our day off. Around lunchtime, we decided to eat at a nearby restaurant, Maruhara-san, with my family. We parked in the spacious parking lot and went inside the restaurant. It was crowded with customers as it was lunchtime. We were seated at a table and checked the menu. I decided to go for the classic meat soba! They had a set menu with teppanyaki fried rice, so I ordered the set with meat soba and teppanyaki fried rice! While waiting, I poured cold green tea from the pitcher on the table and waited. There were various condiments on the table, including unique ones like spicy miso and pickled mustard greens. Those who like to customize their flavors would be happy. After a while, the dishes arrived... - Teppanyaki Fried Rice Set: 890 yen (meat soba, small teppanyaki fried rice) First, the teppanyaki fried rice arrived, followed quickly by the ramen. I quickly mixed the beaten egg into the teppanyaki fried rice to prevent it from burning! Since the teppanyaki fried rice arrived first, I hurriedly mixed it! I actually wanted to eat a bit of ramen first and then have the fried rice, but because the teppanyaki plate was hot, I had to eat it quickly to prevent it from drying out or burning. The hot and fluffy fried rice was delicious! It had just the right amount of saltiness, and the egg and green onions added a subtle sweetness and bitterness, doing a great job. Hot and fluffy fried rice is always delicious, isn't it? Next was the ramen. The soy sauce soup with floating lard, pork, sliced onions, green onions, orange-colored grated daikon, and seaweed on top. I tried the soup first. It had a refreshing soy sauce flavor with a hint of sweetness from the pork and onions. In terms of flavor, it was similar to the ramen at Kamiza, I think. I mixed in the orange-colored grated daikon to add a refreshing touch while still enjoying the richness of the lard and the depth of the broth. The noodles were medium-thin and straight, which I think paired well with this soup. It was a delicious ramen that was refreshing yet satisfying, complemented by the hot and fluffy fried rice. Since it's a neighborhood restaurant, we'll definitely be back! Thank you for the meal! PS: The rating of this restaurant was surprisingly low, but maybe my taste buds are just different? If you like Kamiza, you'll probably like this ramen too!

Shortened business hours day. Only 20 minutes left until closing, which occasionally happens. Quickly entered the store and placed an order without much thought. Ended up ordering too much... Beef ramen, fried rice, fried chicken, and dumplings. Definitely overate. But everything was delicious. It's great that they have a spacious parking lot. I think the ramen was the most delicious.

I have been here a few times and it is consistently delicious. I had the Jukujo Shoyu Ramen with flavored egg and meat, and it was so good for the price. The meat, egg, and vegetables all included make it a great deal. Not just the Katsura branch, but every branch I go to is always delicious!

I went for lunch on a regular day. The place is located along Route 9 and has a large garage, so you can feel safe coming by car. I've eaten at other branches before, so I have a general idea of the menu. I sat at a table, ordered tea, and called the staff. I had the spicy meat soba with fried rice set. I enjoy the spicy flavor. The fried rice is cooked on a hot plate without eggs, then the eggs are cracked on top. This presentation may be a specialty of this restaurant, but I'm starting to get tired of it.

After finishing work, I visited this restaurant around 9:30 PM, and even at this time, the large parking lot was filled with many cars. Looking around the restaurant, it seemed that there were many families dining. This was my first time trying Marugen Ramen, and based on my research, it seemed that their specialty was the Niku Soba, so I decided to order the Ajitama Niku Soba Niku Double (990 yen). It came with plenty of pork slices, seasoned egg, chopped green onions, and what seemed like grated daikon radish. According to the menu, the soup was made with chicken and pork bones, aromatic vegetables, Muneo bonito flakes, and soy sauce from Shodoshima, Okayama, and Chiba. When I tasted the soup, I could feel the sweetness of chicken bones, pork belly, and onions, but the flavor was quite light. It was like eating ramen in a soy sauce-based hot pot with pork slices and onions. The noodles were curly and had a chewy texture due to the high water content. I tried adding some chili oil halfway through, which increased the spiciness and added a different flavor dimension. Adding a little vinegar also enhanced the soup's richness. Although the ingredients seemed to be carefully selected, I couldn't really taste their individual flavors. Perhaps it was just this time, but I couldn't sense much richness in the soup. The restaurant has a spacious parking lot and many table seats, making it a good place for families to enjoy ramen together. If I have the chance, I would like to give it another try.

I visited after a long time. I ordered the all toppings meat soba. It comes with the classic meat, yuzu pepper, grated radish, green onions, char siu, half-boiled egg, thick menma, and seaweed, all for only 980 yen. In addition, there is spicy Nozawana pickles on the table for unlimited refills. Adding this changes the flavor and makes it even more delicious. However, be careful as the pickles are quite spicy. I couldn't resist ordering the perfect amount of side menu fried chicken. And finally, soft serve ice cream. Always full and satisfied! This is my favorite restaurant.

I happened to watch a video of Marugen's Negi Miso Ramen on YouTube and my appetite was at its max, so I decided to visit Marugen in Katsura, Kyoto. At the entrance, there was hand sanitizer which made me feel safe given the current situation. It was lunchtime, so the restaurant was quite busy. I already knew I wanted to order the Negi Miso Ramen, but the set menu also looked delicious so I ordered the Fried Rice and Gyoza set. By paying an extra fee, you can choose any ramen for the set. Additionally, you can switch the gyoza for 2 pieces of fried chicken. The fried rice portion is usually increased for free sometimes, but not on that day, so I got the small portion. The dishes arrived in the order of ramen, fried rice, and fried chicken. First, I tried the ramen. The miso soup was quite ordinary, neither good nor bad. It could have been tastier with more depth. The thick noodles provided a satisfying chew but were also just average. The chashu pork was also average. Next, I tried the fried rice, which was also average. The performance of cracking an egg on the hot plate before serving was interesting, but the taste was rather dry and lacked seasoning. Personally, I would have preferred it to be greasier. Lastly, the fried chicken was delicious. The crispy exterior and juicy interior made it the highlight of the meal. It's worth ordering even as a standalone dish. Overall, the taste was similar to a chain restaurant, but the set menu left me feeling full. It would be a good choice for families with children. As for the bill, the Fried Rice and Gyoza set was 980 yen, with an additional 230 yen for the Negi Miso Ramen, totaling 1210 yen. With a 121 yen consumption tax, the total bill came to 1331 yen, which felt a bit expensive. It seems the price difference for the Negi Miso Ramen was significant. If I have the chance, I would like to try the Niku Soba next time.

On a regular Monday at 12:10, I entered the restaurant and it wasn't too crowded, which is typical for this time. I've been here a few times before, so I know the drill. I'm not a big fan of their fried rice, but I really like their yuzu pepper grated radish. I ordered the delicious fried chicken lunch set for ¥858 including tax (2 pieces of fried chicken, small rice) and added extra noodles for ¥132 including tax, bringing the total to ¥990 including tax. I also ordered extra yuzu pepper grated radish for free. Oh, they offer a noodle refill for the lunch price of ¥107 including tax! It seems like a better deal than the refill, but I prefer the larger portion. I enjoyed some pickled vegetables while waiting. They're not too spicy and very tasty. The food arrived in just 6 minutes! I tried a bite without the yuzu pepper grated radish first, and it was delicious. Even without the yuzu pepper grated radish, it was tasty enough. As the grated radish mixes in gradually, the flavor changes and it's enjoyable. I love the yuzu pepper grated radish ramen, so this was very tasty for me. The fried chicken was also delicious, as the name suggests. It's been a while since I last came, but now I feel like coming back again. The staff are also very friendly. Thank you for the meal. Additional note: I recommend the yuzu pepper grated radish ramen when you're hungover.

I went to Marugen for the first time. I ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen, negi chahan, and gyoza lunch set. The ramen was quite spicy and made me sweat, so it's good for those who like spicy food! However, the noodles were just okay. The chahan was delicious and hot. The gyoza was average. The service was friendly and attentive. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I came to the area near Katsura for work. I headed to Katsura's Raitei where a former colleague works, but it was closed for the day. So, I got on Route 9 and headed to Marugen Ramen. I had the Gyoza lunch set with Char Siu ramen. I usually always get the meat soba, but I tried this for the first time and it was delicious! I don't usually take risks, but now I feel like trying out other ramen options as well! It was a great meal.

I love ramen (*^_^*) and this is my favorite restaurant. The parking lot is spacious and the restaurant is big, so it's always crowded but I never have to wait long. They have a menu for small children and there are toys like in a family restaurant, so the inside is always bustling with families. My favorite is the meat soba, but today I tried the new dish, Sun Rantan Men. It's sour and slightly spicy. Hmm, but I still think the usual meat soba is more delicious. I don't like shiitake mushrooms, but there were a lot in it today (;_;). I will go back to have the meat soba again.
