Hello everyone who loves vegetables and loves to eat♪ Today's video and article uploaded on the auspicious day is about my first visit to the famous restaurant Muneo, which serves a vegetarian kaiseki using vegetable dashi and a vegetable kaiseki using bonito dashi. I thought I was going for the vegetarian option, but it turned out to be the vegetable dish using bonito dashi. When I explained this, they kindly changed it to a vegetarian course for me at an additional cost. The Oriental Vegan lunch set was amazing and flavorful, especially the sesame tofu tempura and the sweet potato tempura. The rice with daikon was ten times more delicious than expected, and the taro tempura was a direct taste of the deliciousness of the vegetable. The white sesame tofu salad was also rich and flavorful. Overall, the quality and taste of the dishes at this renowned restaurant exceeded my expectations. Check out the YouTube video for more details.

I visited the restaurant during lunchtime without a reservation and was able to sit at the counter without any wait. Due to personal reasons, I couldn't eat a large meal, so I ordered a lunch set for around 2,000 yen. The dishes, such as vegetables with flavorful broth, fried tofu, fried burdock root, and mixed rice with salted kelp, were satisfying for the price. I would like to try a proper course menu next time.

A cozy and welcoming restaurant just a 2-minute walk from Roppongi Station. The dishes were all delicious, with the flavors of the ingredients well brought out. The course options were designed so even women could comfortably finish their meal, making it a very satisfying dining experience!

I had the urge for a regular "diet reset" and found a hit with the restaurant "Sokko" where you can enjoy shojin cuisine. The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of a building near Roppongi intersection. The spacious lounge-like interior has table seating, but as a solo diner, I was seated at the counter in the middle where I could watch Chef Nomura's hands at work. I ordered the limited edition "Two-tiered bento box" (5,500 yen). The chef presented me with a ceramic two-tiered box. When I lifted the lid, I was pleasantly surprised to see the box filled with dishes. The quality of each dish was high, especially the crispy fried items which added a satisfying touch to the shojin cuisine. The dish with asparagus wrapped in shiso leaves and potato puree was particularly delicious. The spring roll with bamboo shoots and arrowhead was also a favorite. The grilled sesame tofu was also a delight. The meal left me feeling quite full and satisfied. The preparation was done in the kitchen at the back, with some apprentices from overseas also present. The service was a bit lacking, with the staff not paying much attention to customers. The chef, who I later found out had been a judge on a popular TV show, was very busy attending to all aspects of the restaurant. They also offer takeout options, so I may consider trying that next time. The food was truly delicious, and I would love to visit again.

Taste: ★★ The lunch set for 1980 yen was overall lacking in flavor, with the simmered dish not absorbing the broth well. The miso soup with tofu also had the tofu and broth tasting separate. The pickles were delicious. The tea had a unique taste, maybe it was corn tea? Service: ★★★ Average. They provide the necessary minimum level of service. Atmosphere: ★★★ It seems good, but there are areas that seem to lack cleanliness. The elevator was disappointing. (I may be a bit particular about cleanliness) Cost performance: It's a bit questionable.

Healthy lunch at Sougo✨˗ˏˋ Sougo / Roppongi ˎˊ˗I went to Sougo in Roppongi, where you can enjoy Shojin cuisine in a kaiseki style. Shojin cuisine uses plant-based ingredients such as vegetables and tofu, with no meat involved! It's highly recommended for vegetarians and those looking for a healthy meal. The "Vegetable Kaiseki Lunch Course" included:— MENU —・Shiitake Mushroom Spring Roll with Nori Sauce and Hanaho・Uguisu Soup with Grilled Sesame Tofu, Hoshi Rice, and Cherry Blossom・Assorted Mountain Vegetables with Yasho Granita・Simmered Bamboo Shoots and Wakame with Tree Bud・Fukinotou Miso in a Rice Cake with Awafu, Petite Veil, and Potato Paste・Dancing Mushroom Rice with Red Miso Soup and Pickles・Specialty Water and Fruit [Mizuki's Recommended Menu]・Shiitake Mushroom Spring Roll with Nori Sauce and HanahoThe nori sauce brought out the umami of the shiitake mushrooms, and the crispy spring roll was surprisingly filling for an appetizer.・Simmered Bamboo Shoots and Wakame with Tree BudI never knew bamboo shoots could taste this good! This dish made me feel like spring was already here, with its cute appearance and amazing texture.・Fukinotou Miso in a Rice Cake with Awafu, Petite Veil, and Potato PasteThe slight bitterness of the fukinotou miso was delicious! The chewiness of the awafu, the sweetness of the potato paste, and the balance of flavors were all spot on. Plus, the sakura rice cake was adorable!✎#TokyoGourmet #RoppongiGourmet#RoppongiLunch #ShojinCuisine#SougoRoppongi #Vegetarian#HealthyLunch #JapaneseLunch#Foodstagram #VegetableDishes#FoodiesUnite #FoodieGirls #Mizuki'sGourmet

I used this restaurant for a meal with my pescatarian friend, who only eats seafood and vegetables. This place serves a thorough vegetarian cuisine, with dashi broth made from bonito but mainly using plant-based ingredients. It is a restaurant that was established by someone who used to work at Daigo, a famous vegetarian restaurant in Atago. I wanted to experience the surprise of being satisfied with only vegetables again, like I did at Daigo, so I visited this place. Although Soko is more casual than Daigo, it follows a kaiseki style. The highlight was the colorful and cute dishes that were visually appealing, with motifs and colors suitable for the New Year season. The dishes made me feel the season, and there were many visually pleasing dishes that would make women happy. Each dish was seasoned well with dashi before being fried, grilled, or steamed, resulting in a satisfying layered flavor. My favorite was the lotus root and turnip steamed dish, which was delicious, especially when paired with the chewiness of the rice cakes.

There were a few groups of first-time foreign tourists who visited. This time we tried the vegan course. It was gentle on the body and delicious. Personally, I prefer meat and fish, so I feel more satisfied with a meal that has more substance.

The finishing touch for recovering from fasting is here! The vegan kaiseki course consists entirely of plant-based ingredients. The broth is incredibly delicious, with a satisfying texture. The staff are all very quick and provide pleasant service, but what sets this place apart is that the owner chef personally takes the time to serve and explain the dishes. Regardless of fasting or dieting, when your stomach feels tired or your body feels sluggish, this is the perfect place to keep in mind for when you crave vegetable-based dishes.

I had the lunch course at this restaurant. The lunch beer is usually 550 yen, but it was 330 yen, so I also had a beer. The owner taught me some trivia about Shojin cuisine. Shojin cuisine is characterized by using only vegetarian ingredients, without meat or seafood, such as vegetables, grains, seaweed, beans, nuts, and fruits. It's a Buddhist term. Eating at the counter allows for a peaceful dining experience alone, and it's also healthy for the body. I learned about this unique restaurant!

Just a short walk from Roppongi Station. If you head towards Imoarai-zaka, you'll reach the goal soon. It's nice to be so close. I also couldn't resist trying it after seeing it on Jobtune and made a reservation for lunch, which was affordable. It's convenient to be able to make reservations on Tabelog. I ordered the set meal with 6 dishes and curry. The interior is like a high-end Chinese restaurant. Maybe they took over the space from a previous restaurant. I shared the curry with a friend. The highlight here is the texture. It's crunchy and enjoyable. The yam and burdock root stir-fry is rich in flavor and goes well with the rice! It's truly a gentle meal centered around vegetables. The rice cooked with shiitake mushrooms and crispy fried tofu is slightly sweet and delicious! The miso soup is full of ingredients, including rare items like red konjac, and the presentation is beautiful. The broth is gentle and doesn't make you miss the meat. There's no feeling of being unsatisfied. The curry is a vegetable curry baked in the oven with a good amount of spices, making it delicious. Instead of tonkatsu, you get fried wheat gluten, which doesn't really replace the tonkatsu, but it's light and tasty in its own way. I was worried that I wouldn't be full because it's all vegetables, but to be honest, I ended up eating too much. Just the set meal alone is filling enough.

Visited the restaurant after 2-3 years. It's a vegetarian restaurant, so they don't use any animal products. Ordered the "Seasonal Set Meal (1980 yen)." It was nice to have a simple lunch for a change, and I was quite satisfied. The flavors were well-balanced with a natural taste, emphasizing saltiness and umami. Lately, I've been finding meat a bit heavy to eat (both in terms of taste and from an animal welfare perspective). I might gradually transition to a meat-free diet. I used to be a vegetarian for about 2 years, so it's not entirely new to me. It's a great restaurant. The vegetarian course doesn't use bonito flakes, but the set meal does.

The owner of the restaurant appeared as a judge on the TV show "Job Chune," so I was curious and decided to make a reservation for two for the dinner course priced at 8,800 yen. We sat at the counter kitchen and watched as the dishes were being prepared, which made the wait enjoyable. The dishes we had included Asparagus Bread Roll, Cold Vegetable Soup with Shiitake Mushrooms, Sushi Garden (a variety of vegetable salad?), Autumn Eggplant Simmered Dish, New Lotus Root Steak, Shiitake Mushroom Rice, Pickles, and Red Miso Soup. For dessert, we had a mixed plate. Every dish was delicious with no disappointments. Eating so many vegetables left us both physically and mentally satisfied. If you bring someone who loves vegetables, they will surely be satisfied too. The restaurant is located near Roppongi Almond in a building, and the owner, who is originally from the Michelin-starred Shojin Ryori Daigo in Minato-ku, continues to impress with the amazing cuisine. I highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I visited for lunch on a regular day and ordered the seasonal set meal (1800 yen). The deep-fried dish, designed to look like cherry blossom mochi, was made with asparagus and cherry blossom leaves, giving it a spring-like and delicious taste. Surprisingly, I was quite full after eating it all, and everything was tasty and interesting. I think this place offers a higher level of lunch experience compared to others in the area.

On a Saturday afternoon, I had lunch at "Sogo" in Roppongi. This restaurant offers Shojin cuisine in a kaiseki style, but for lunch, you can enjoy a more casual set menu. The atmosphere inside is modern and stylish. The owner chef, Daisuke Nomura, was born as the eldest son of the family running the Shojin cuisine restaurant Daigo in Atago, Tokyo. He gained experience as the third-generation chef at Daigo and received a Michelin two-star rating in 2008. In 2015, he opened Shojin Sogo independently from Daigo. I made a reservation through a special offer from Ikkyu Restaurant. I had the "Seasonal Special Set Menu" which includes 4 seasonal Shojin dishes and dessert for 2,500 yen. A soft drink or coffee was included, so I chose cranberry juice. The seasonal Shojin dishes included a seaweed salad, fried tofu with mushrooms, simmered spring greens, mixed vegetable rice, and assorted pickles. The miso soup was full of ingredients. The dessert was impressive, with a fruit parfait including persimmons, banana sorbet, and elderflower jelly. Getting all this for 2,500 yen was a great deal. I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again.

Recently, I have been seeking out healthy dishes and one of the places I found is this vegetarian restaurant. They offer a complete vegan menu as well. The vegetable-based courses are prepared in a way that brings out various flavors. However, the use of oil in some dishes adds a delicious touch. It's a learning experience to try out these dishes.

"Sogo" is located in front of the post office near the Matsumoto drugstore at the Roppongi intersection. While there is a Michelin 2-star Shojin cuisine restaurant "Daigo" in Atago, our restaurant is its casual line. The interior is surprisingly spacious, with over 10 counter seats, table seats, and private rooms, offering a variety of seating options. However, the counter seats have a layout where the kitchen is fully visible, and it seemed like the chefs were not enjoying their work much (or rather, they seemed intimidated by the boss). I ordered the "seasonal set meal," but wait, is this all? Where is the main dish? It's true that a lunch in the thousand yen range is cheap for a location and level like this, but it seems to embody a simple, almost religious simplicity. The "one dish" was fried tofu. It had a unique texture similar to raw wheat gluten, and while it was delicious as fried tofu, there may be differing opinions on whether it can take the lead. The "miso soup with plenty of ingredients" did have plenty of ingredients, mostly root vegetables and potatoes, undeniably delicious, but it left a slightly unsatisfied feeling, like visiting a trendy vegan cafe. The "mixed rice" included tempura of shiitake mushrooms mixed in. The crispy texture and subtle earthy flavor matched well and were simply delicious. However, eating potatoes and tofu as side dishes felt bland. The "pickles" seemed to be store-bought. I didn't feel a lot of heartfelt flavor in them. I admit that I forgot entirely that it was a genre of Shojin cuisine when I visited, but even so, it was a lackluster lunch. Each dish was undoubtedly delicious, but overall, it was unremarkable. I recommend it to those who prioritize avoiding stimuli related to killing and worldly desires based on Buddhist precepts." ■ For the blog with photos, click here → https://www.takemachelin.com/2020/10/sougo.html

The vegetarian cuisine here is often lightly seasoned, which may seem unsatisfying at first, but surprisingly filling when you actually eat it. However, this time it felt lacking. Very lacking. After undergoing a medical check-up nearby and having to drink barium, my stomach was already full, so I needed a light meal before taking medication. I found a popular Japanese restaurant with a marble counter and a night-time Ginza-like atmosphere. They had lunch options in the thousand yen range. I ordered the lightest "seasonal set meal" (including tax, 1430 yen). The main dish was fried sesame tofu. The meal also included burdock tempura rice and salted kombu mixed rice, along with a vegetable-rich miso soup and pickles. The lineup was suitable for vegetarian cuisine, but I felt the rice portion was particularly small and would not have been enough if I hadn't just had a barium test. And at this price. This would not be acceptable in the competitive lunch scene of Ginza.

Located on the 3rd floor of a building near Roppongi Station on the Hibiya Line, this Japanese restaurant offers healthy and casual Shojin cuisine with a focus on vegetables in a calm setting. For lunch, you can choose from set meals, special lunch boxes, seasonal soba noodles, curry sets, and more. I opted for the seasonal special lunch box, which includes a main dish, two side dishes, mixed rice, a hearty miso soup, and pickles. The vegetable spring rolls with natto sauce, simmered daikon radish, and sesame tofu were all delicious and soothing. The burdock root and salted kelp mixed rice had a chewy texture and flavorful accents. The miso soup was packed with various vegetables like Chinese cabbage, eggplant, sweet potato, and cauliflower. It was a refreshing change to enjoy Shojin cuisine without meat or fish, and it felt like a nourishing meal for the body. Bon appétit!

I visited the restaurant again for lunch. This time I had the Shun Gozen set (¥1800), which came with mixed rice, hearty miso soup, fried tofu, and two side dishes. The mixed rice here is really delicious. Each side dish is carefully prepared with unique flavors. It's a pleasure to savor each dish in the calm atmosphere. Thank you for the feast! ♩

I entered the restaurant to have lunch. About 70% of the seats were occupied, and there were quite a few customers even though I tried to come at a different time. It was my first time visiting, so I took some time to decide from the menu, but I chose the seasonal set meal (¥1300). The meal was served soon after, and just from the aroma, I could tell that it was definitely delicious. The mixed rice had a perfect texture, aroma, and flavor. The miso soup was also filled with plenty of ingredients, making it enjoyable. Each dish was simple but really good. I was very satisfied with the delicious food. Thank you for the meal! ♩
