Recently, in Kyoto, there is a lively izakaya group called "Kaisen" that serves delicious and reasonably priced seafood. It feels like one of the group's restaurants. I went there for the third stop on my bar hopping adventure, so I didn't eat a lot and I was a little drunk, so I only took a few photos. The photo is of a seafood bowl, similar to a famous seafood bowl restaurant in Tokyo. It's delicious. They are open late at night, so it's a hangout spot for restaurant staff after their shifts. I would like to go there again when I visit Kyoto.

After eating meat, I felt like having some fish dishes, so I went to a late-night diner on the first floor of a mixed-use building. They are open from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM. You might wonder if people really go to a late-night diner, but surprisingly, quite a few do. They don't have a set menu, you just order whatever you want and they'll make it if they can. That's their business policy.

The restaurant, as the name suggests, specializes in late-night dining. The sashimi was delicious, living up to their reputation as a casual dining spot. When I arrived right at opening, it was not crowded, but on my second visit, it was quite full. The chef runs the place alone, so when it's busy, there may be a wait for your food. They even have octopus and crab-shaped sausages on the menu!笑

I had known about this restaurant on Facebook for about 3 years and finally got the chance to visit. The cozy restaurant has only about 6 seats at the counter. The friendly chef greeted me. It felt more like an izakaya or rice bowl place than a typical restaurant. When I saw the prices on the menu, I hesitated a bit, but the sashimi platter and the conger eel tempura were so delicious! I ended up ordering those along with a beer and a highball. I'll definitely come back after saving up some more money! If you love seafood, this place is a must-try!

Resurrected! Zakoya!! The staff has changed, but the hours are from 8pm to 5am, closed on Mondays! Depending on the staff, the seasoning and menu may vary, but well, it's a matter of preference, too. Power up~✨ Unlike Osaka, there really isn't another place where you can eat such delicious fish. In addition, they have recently expanded their rice dishes, with the shrimp fried rice being particularly popular~✨ I hope this precious late-night luxury continues in the future.

I found a shop in Kiyamachi that is open from 8 pm to 5 am. During my business trip to Kyoto, the salon manager recommended it to me. The entrance is on the first floor of a mixed-use building along the Kiyamagawa River. I heard that the sashimi platter and spicy recommended sake are delicious, so I ordered them. The appetizer was roast beef with ponzu sauce and green onions, which was light and tasty. The sashimi platter is directly delivered from the market in Kyoto, with some items also being delivered locally. This time, I had plump firefly squid from Toyama Bay, Kanpachi with fat, Shinshu salmon from Nagano, and flounder. I also forgot... The sake prepared for me was from Fukushima, and the shop owner said that Fukushima sake has fewer misses. Of course, taste preferences vary, but you can enjoy a variety of flavors. I really like firefly squid. Usually, it's marinated, but this time it was simply boiled and eaten with ginger, which was refreshing. The Shinshu salmon is a one-time crossbreed of rainbow trout and brown trout, and it's delicious when eaten as sashimi. It has a firm texture and satisfying taste. I also had grilled collar, which was moist and perfect with sake. I forgot to take a picture of the Mozuku vinegar I had before the collar was grilled. After enjoying various conversations, at around 8:45 pm, two couples who seemed to be regulars arrived, so I finished my sake and left the shop feeling good. The shop owner kindly reminded me not to forget my umbrella. Such thoughtfulness makes me want to visit the shop again. They are closed on Mondays. After 2 am, the shop apparently gets busy with people who have finished their work. The best times to visit are right after opening or around 11 pm. I found a shop in Kyoto where you can enjoy safe and delicious fish. Thank you for the meal.

In Kyoto, it's hard to find a place to eat delicious fish late at night. That's where "Shin'ya Meshi Zakkoya" comes in handy. You can easily stop by even if you're alone. This time, I ordered the "Fisherman's Rice Bowl". It was a luxurious dish with seafood on top of rice, topped with chopped pickled radish and cucumber, and drizzled with sweet soy sauce and wasabi. It was a truly indulgent dinner. And the fact that you can enjoy this for just 1000 yen in Kiyamachi is amazing. If you can't make it to the other branches for lunch, definitely try this place for a taste of their delicious food.

As the name suggests, this is a shop that stays open late into the night. It's great that you can easily enjoy the familiar menu from the main branch of Zako-ya. The prices are reasonable, making it a very convenient place to eat. In Kiyamachi, most of the shops have an atmosphere and menu that make it difficult for solo diners to enter, but at Zako-ya, you can feel comfortable dining alone. So, it's perfect for a light dinner after work or as a late-night snack after drinking.

Eating delicious seafood in the middle of the night was the best! The regular customers were chatting happily with the owner at the counter, creating a great atmosphere!
