[September 2013 revisit] I have a long history of visiting Le Lion, but I always sit on the terrace because I have my dog with me. On this day, I didn't have my dog with me so I went inside the restaurant. It was actually my first time stepping inside, including the restroom! The interior had a cozy atmosphere which was nice. For a late lunch with my wife, we had: - Le Lion-style salad (shared between two) - Chicken in tomato sauce stew - Pork shoulder steak - Gâteau au chocolat After the meal, we also had some drinks, and the total came to 8300 yen for the two of us.
[May 2013 revisit] It had been a while since I last visited Le Lion. The terrace seating in May was lovely with the sun shining down. It's the season for terrace seating now. The breeze was cool, and we could relax with a glass of wine in hand. We had the lunch set, with my wife having the macaroni gratin (800 yen) and me having the mushroom omelette (900 yen). The set came with salad and a drink, making it a good deal. We also enjoyed a walnut tart for dessert (+400 yen).
[October 2012 revisit] I visited after a long time. I usually bring my dog, but this summer was too hot and there were too many mosquitoes on the terrace, so I avoided it. Now that it's getting cooler, I plan to visit more often. For a late brunch on this day, I had: - Carrot salad - Pâté de campagne - Le Lion-style salad - Beef shoulder steak with lentil stew on the side Le Lion always has friendly staff and is a cozy place to be.
[March 2012 revisit] We visited with our dog for a late Sunday lunch. We come almost every month, but I should update more often. Since we had our dog, we sat on the terrace, which was covered and had a stove, making it warm and comfortable. We had: - Suckling pig terrine - Three-element pork salad - Cream stew with young chicken and mushrooms - Duck confit with mashed potatoes on the side - Cheese platter - Strawberry tart We also had four glasses of wine. The selection of wines here is good. The staff's service is always pleasant.
[October 2011 revisit] I visit once a month, but I had been neglecting to update. Today, we had a late lunch in the evening. My wife and I shared: - Pâté de campagne - Le Lion-style salad - Beef shoulder steak - Cheese platter We also enjoyed some wine. The service here is always pleasant.
[May 2011 revisit] I visited with my dog for dinner after three months. Dogs are only allowed on the terrace. We had: - Le Lion-style salad with salami, gizzards, and poached egg, with added cut Western dandelion - Marinated mackerel with white wine flavor - White asparagus with hollandaise sauce - Potato purée - Roasted Yamagata three-element pork and sauerkraut with a sauce made from fondue and white wine The pork shoulder roast is slowly cooked at low temperature. The restaurant was completely full by 7:30 pm. It's still a popular place. Reservations are recommended. The terrace is spacious and popular, but it's a bit chilly in this season, so it's covered with a tent. I always thought it was completely non-smoking, but I learned for the first time that smoking is allowed on the terrace. There is no ventilation inside the tent, so be careful.
