[September 2013 revisit] I have a long history of visiting Le Lion, but I always sit on the terrace because I have my dog with me. On this day, I didn't have my dog with me so I went inside the restaurant. It was actually my first time stepping inside, including the restroom! The interior had a cozy atmosphere which was nice. For a late lunch with my wife, we had: - Le Lion-style salad (shared between two) - Chicken in tomato sauce stew - Pork shoulder steak - Gâteau au chocolat After the meal, we also had some drinks, and the total came to 8300 yen for the two of us. [May 2013 revisit] It had been a while since I last visited Le Lion. The terrace seating in May was lovely with the sun shining down. It's the season for terrace seating now. The breeze was cool, and we could relax with a glass of wine in hand. We had the lunch set, with my wife having the macaroni gratin (800 yen) and me having the mushroom omelette (900 yen). The set came with salad and a drink, making it a good deal. We also enjoyed a walnut tart for dessert (+400 yen). [October 2012 revisit] I visited after a long time. I usually bring my dog, but this summer was too hot and there were too many mosquitoes on the terrace, so I avoided it. Now that it's getting cooler, I plan to visit more often. For a late brunch on this day, I had: - Carrot salad - Pâté de campagne - Le Lion-style salad - Beef shoulder steak with lentil stew on the side Le Lion always has friendly staff and is a cozy place to be. [March 2012 revisit] We visited with our dog for a late Sunday lunch. We come almost every month, but I should update more often. Since we had our dog, we sat on the terrace, which was covered and had a stove, making it warm and comfortable. We had: - Suckling pig terrine - Three-element pork salad - Cream stew with young chicken and mushrooms - Duck confit with mashed potatoes on the side - Cheese platter - Strawberry tart We also had four glasses of wine. The selection of wines here is good. The staff's service is always pleasant. [October 2011 revisit] I visit once a month, but I had been neglecting to update. Today, we had a late lunch in the evening. My wife and I shared: - Pâté de campagne - Le Lion-style salad - Beef shoulder steak - Cheese platter We also enjoyed some wine. The service here is always pleasant. [May 2011 revisit] I visited with my dog for dinner after three months. Dogs are only allowed on the terrace. We had: - Le Lion-style salad with salami, gizzards, and poached egg, with added cut Western dandelion - Marinated mackerel with white wine flavor - White asparagus with hollandaise sauce - Potato purée - Roasted Yamagata three-element pork and sauerkraut with a sauce made from fondue and white wine The pork shoulder roast is slowly cooked at low temperature. The restaurant was completely full by 7:30 pm. It's still a popular place. Reservations are recommended. The terrace is spacious and popular, but it's a bit chilly in this season, so it's covered with a tent. I always thought it was completely non-smoking, but I learned for the first time that smoking is allowed on the terrace. There is no ventilation inside the tent, so be careful.

Good evening everyone. After returning from Kawagoe, I wanted to have dinner and see the Baccarat chandelier at Baccarat in Ebisu Garden Place. Tokyo is beautiful with its illuminations at this time of year, with the Baccarat chandelier changing colors every 10 minutes - red, blue, yellow - it's truly magnificent. After admiring the beauty, take a short walk to "Le Lion" for a cozy dining experience. The warm atmosphere inside, the friendly casual service, and the delicious food make it a great spot. We ordered dishes to share, such as country-style pate, Lyon-style salad, Mont Saint-Michel mussels steamed in white wine, and Brittany duck confit. We enjoyed our meal with Ebisu beer and Burgundy white wine. The pate was generous, the salad was refreshing, the mussels were flavorful, and the duck confit was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside. The mustard sauce served with the duck was a delightful addition. The attentive service and the overall dining experience made it a memorable evening. Thank you for the delicious meal!

During lunchtime, I discovered a restaurant that quickly became packed! The inside was crowded, so I sat on the terrace. The staff were attentive and set up a fan for me. It was just the right temperature outside since my office is always cold, and I even started sweating a bit after finishing my meal (*'ω'*). It might still be hot this time of year! I had the wine-braised pork for 1300 yen, and the iced tea was delicious too! It might be a bit small for men, but the pork was tender and the green beans were tasty. You can add dessert for an extra 400 yen. I might come back on the weekend (*´ω`*) Dessert time ♫ Payment is cash or credit card only.

Gourmet men & fishing boat men's "Bistro Tour" revisited "le Lion" today. The meat was shredded and mixed with pasta... delicious!! Thank you for the meal. Looking for lunch, cafe, and dinner friends around Ebisu... and also looking for ramen friends and fishing friends (lol).

Visited for lunch after errands in Ebisu. It's a popular place, so if it's full, I planned to go to "Oyako Chuka Soba Ayagawa" nearby without a reservation. The place was crowded, but I managed to secure the last table. The clientele consisted of female groups and couples, besides me. The lunch menu had about 5 options. I ordered the following in advance due to visiting on a holiday: - Beef ribeye steak and fried potatoes @2,500 yen (tax included) *Comes with bread and drink - Basque-style cheesecake @750 yen The restaurant also has a terrace, but no one was using it due to the heat. The interior had a bistro-like atmosphere and was a bit lively. The salad was a simple green salad with a tangy French-style vinaigrette dressing. The ribeye steak was served without sauce, to be enjoyed with salt, pepper, and mustard in a French style. The cooking was closer to medium-rare, and the meat was tender with decent flavor. The portion size (200g or more?) was good. The accompanying fried potatoes were plentiful and crispy. Lastly, I had an iced coffee and the Basque cheesecake. The cheesecake had orange peel jam, a smooth texture, and a moderate sweetness, making it delicious. It would have been even better if they served reheated bread with butter or olive oil. The service was polite and attentive. If I had ordered a fish or meat main for lunch, I might have rated the value for money higher. Overall, it's a good place to enjoy a casual bistro lunch. Thank you for the meal.

I have been to Rurion about ten times. Whenever I visit, no matter what I order, it is always delicious. The staff at the restaurant are very kind, so I never get tired of going there. The terrace seats even allow dogs, and the atmosphere is great. However, it's better to bring a mini fan during the summer on the terrace. Since it's always busy, reservations are a must for this popular restaurant.

Le Lion in Ebisu A popular bistro lunch spot I've always wanted to visit. The lunch menu changes daily, and you can choose from meat, fish, or salad for 1100 yen, which is surprisingly authentic for the price. Plus, it comes with bread and a drink. The atmosphere is like a Parisian bar, with a calming deep red color. There is also a terrace seating area, although unfortunately, it was pouring rain on the day I visited. Despite that, the restaurant was almost full – it's a popular spot, so it's best to make a reservation even on weekdays. With good value, a nice atmosphere, and the likelihood of returning, I highly recommend this place. Shop Information: - Name: Le Lion - Address: 1-21-16 Ebisu, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo - Business hours: 11:30-14:00/18:00-23:30 (Weekdays), 12:00-15:00/18:00-23:30 (Saturday, holidays) - Closed on Sundays, irregularly once a month, and lunch is closed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays - Access: 5-minute walk from Ebisu Station - Seats: 44 - Reservation: Available - Payment: Cards accepted

I had lunch with a rib roast steak and French fries, with dessert included. Although I couldn't see the kitchen from my seat, the steak was cooked using the classic French method of using the entire pan, and it was amazing. While many people focus on the brand of meat or how rare it is, the cooking technique is crucial. The salad with a well-balanced dressing, with just the right amount of acidity, was also great. It makes sense that there is an option to have a large portion of salad instead of French fries as a side dish. The restaurant doesn't have a pastry chef, but the dark cherry clafoutis was satisfying. The dessert service was faithful to the basics, and I could see why this place is popular just from this lunch set. I had grape juice and braised chicken drumstick with Charcutière sauce for lunch. The grape juice had a rich and deep flavor, resembling wine. The braised chicken drumstick had a good balance of saltiness and umami. I would have preferred it to have a bit more sweetness. Overall, it was a delicious lunch.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere with a spacious terrace, but it can be difficult to enter with a stroller or cart. During winter, they provide vinyl covers. Pets may be allowed on the terrace depending on the situation. It's a popular place, so reservations are not possible. When it's hot, fewer people sit on the terrace, making it easier to get a table. The restaurant was full inside, but only half full on the terrace when we went during lunchtime. The lunch set comes with bread and a drink, but you need to pay an additional 200 yen for a cafe latte. For an extra 400 yen, you can also order dessert. The steak was delicious. I recommend the saury poêlé.

The atmosphere and cleanliness were great. The person who welcomed us at the entrance seemed a bit unfriendly, but maybe they were just shy. The service was good overall, with staff promptly refilling our wine and clearing empty plates. Other staff members were friendly and engaged us in conversation during checkout. The steak was surprisingly delicious, and I was impressed. Don't underestimate their lunch menu. I would definitely like to visit again.

Having lunch with a friend. Ordered the Lurion salad set with dessert for 1700 yen. The set comes with bread, soup, and a drink. The salad was topped with bacon, chicken liver, and eggs, very filling and delicious. The staff was friendly, making us feel like we were dining at a bistro in Paris!

I found this restaurant while struggling to find a lunch spot. It's about a 5-6 minute walk from Ebisu Station. Surrounded by a few other eateries, it stood out with its stylish open-air seating and sign. The lunch crowd was bustling, but I managed to get in easily. While they also had pasta on the menu, I opted for the salad lunch as I was feeling a bit full. The atmosphere inside was nice, with a calm and mature vibe. There were mostly women but also a few men dining alone. The set came with soup and a baguette. The corn soup was delicious. The main salad was a generous portion topped with cheese, gizzards, and bacon. I love gizzard confit, so I ordered it, and the crispy meat and crunchy vegetables were satisfyingly refreshing. The portion was quite filling, and even though it was over 1000 yen, it was a luxurious lunch that left me very satisfied. This place seems to have won a Michelin star, so it might be best to make a reservation for dinner. The dinner menu looks delicious, so I'd like to visit for dinner next time.

On Friday night, I made a reservation and visited this restaurant. It was fully booked, so we sat on the terrace where the temperature was just right, making it a great experience. The staff were very experienced and made us feel very comfortable. The dishes were all amazing. The carpaccio had a hint of spice or cumin that made it incredibly delicious. The chocolate mousse dessert was not too rich, and I couldn't stop eating it until the last bite. The baguette seemed like it was freshly baked in the restaurant, and it was so soft and chewy that I ended up having seconds. The lamb chops had a slight smell of lamb, which made me laugh because I had just eaten some delicious, odorless lamb the day before. Overall, the food, drinks, and people were all amazing! I would love to come back for a date next time. It cost around 8000 yen per person for two girls, including a glass of red wine.

It's been a year since my last visit, and this is my second time here. We toasted with champagne, enjoyed pate de campagne, mushroom salad, escargot in Burgundy style, roasted lamb loin with herb seasoning, Basque cheesecake. We had wine by the glass, and they have a great selection of French wines. The restaurant is casual, but the food is delicious!

The speed of serving the dishes is a bit slow. However, the staff are attentive, bringing bread frequently while we wait. Some of the menu items I was looking forward to were not available today, which was disappointing. The dishes like Uff-Mayo and roasted duck were all delicious. They have a variety of wines by the glass, which was nice. The outdoor terrace seating, although simple, was not very cozy. I would like to try the indoor seating if I have the chance.

A hidden gem bistro located at Ebisu East Exit. Met up with university friends! Since the weather was nice, we reserved a terrace seat. Started with a toast with beer! Had Campanile, Lyon-style salad (forgot to take a photo), seasonal vegetable salad, grilled pork shoulder loin, and more. There are still many popular dishes to try, so I want to explore more. The dishes we ordered were all delicious and didn't disappoint. The staff were friendly and had a good vibe. Definitely want to go back again.

I met up with a young friend after a long time and took them to a restaurant I really like. Despite being in Ebisu, it's located on "Shinbashi Street" and has a bistro atmosphere that feels just like Lyon in France! In Lyon, bistros are called "bouchons," and this place recreates the casual and friendly atmosphere where both the staff and customers are approachable. With a terrace where you can relax and reasonable prices for everyday dining, this place is a gem. The master and staff are attentive yet laid-back, and the menu mainly features traditional dishes from Lyon, making it easy to enjoy without any pretense. Personally, I love that they serve good wine and delicious meat dishes. This time, we had salad, escargot, and roasted Okinawan Agu pork. Everything was served in portions for two, making it very convenient. The salad was like a home-cooked dish with vegetables, crispy bacon, and a soft-boiled egg. The escargot had a hint of Genovese sauce and paired well with the baguette. The pork, which was supposed to be shared, was quite generous for one person. We enjoyed a slightly mellow white wine and a fruity red wine. The master always tastes the wine when opening a bottle, ensuring its quality, and will open another bottle if needed. It's nice to see such attention to detail. I learned that the restaurant has been open for 18 years... I remembered bringing my son when he was around 11 or 12 years old. It's a place where families can feel at ease too!! I hope to continue visiting for a long time.

I made a reservation and went to this prestigious bistro in Ebisu for lunch alone. The lunch was almost fully booked with reservations and customers kept coming in one after another. I recommend making a reservation if you want to ensure you get to eat here. I ordered the fish dish, "Saury Poêlé with Mustard Sauce". It came with a side dish and a drink for 1300 yen. For an additional 300 yen, I could have a glass of wine, so I chose white wine. The saury paired well with the mustard and tomato sauce. It's no wonder this place is popular in Ebisu with such affordable prices. I would like to try the meat dish next time.

When I visited this area, I saw a sign advertising affordable French lunch, which piqued my interest. The restaurant was covered with a vinyl tent, so I couldn't see inside from the outside. The lunch menu changes daily and is displayed on a board outside. The set includes a main dish, bread, and coffee starting from 1,000 yen, which is quite reasonable. On this day, the restaurant was already full and a solo diner was waiting outside. I couldn't imagine how long the wait would be, but I had no alternative plan, so I decided to wait. While waiting, I checked on Tabelog and found out that this restaurant has been selected as one of the top bistros in the area. After a little over 10 minutes, I was seated. The interior was deeper than I expected, and the tent-covered area was actually a terrace seating. The bistro had a cozy atmosphere where I felt like I could enjoy some delicious food. Although I was tempted by the fish dishes, I chose the chicken dish instead. The bone-in chicken thigh simmered with green peas was impressive, with plenty of green peas soaking up the gentle broth flavor and the meat being very tender. The mashed potatoes at the bottom had a smooth texture and the dish was quite filling. I ended the meal with an espresso. I'm curious to try the bistro's evening menu, which seems to offer a variety of dishes. Please note that the lunch menu is only available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
