I finally got to use it after being interested every time I passed by! It's a restaurant that serves monjayaki, okonomiyaki, and teppanyaki. I visited without a reservation, but as soon as I entered, it was full of customers with reservations. It seems to be a popular restaurant among locals. The menu is extensive and it's fun to choose from!

The interior is perfect! The taste is delicious, to put it simply. I think it's a small, individual shop, but they are really working hard on Japanese-style seasoning. The interior is wonderful. This is a restaurant I definitely want to go to with my family. I just popped in and left right away, but this is a must-visit restaurant. Lately, the reviews have been a bit harsh.

Located on the northwest corner of Kawaramachi Marutamachi, this relatively new restaurant caught my attention with the flowers of the comedy duo "The Knights" displayed right after its opening. I decided to step inside and found the interior surprisingly spacious with a relaxed atmosphere. The place was quite busy with customers. I started with a tomato shochu highball and ordered cold tofu, okra bacon, and hoso. Each table had a hot plate, but instead of cooking ourselves, the dishes were prepared in the open kitchen and brought to us by the staff. The customers were mostly locals, creating a neighborhood gathering vibe with many families and kids present. The portions, especially for dishes like okonomiyaki, were quite generous, suggesting that many customers ordered with the intention of taking some home. The restaurant even provided containers for takeout, which was commendable. Although I didn't try their okonomiyaki or yakisoba, the overall experience was pleasant, and I could see it being a good place for izakaya-style dining. Thank you for the meal. The restroom, located next to the kitchen, was a shared non-bidet Western-style toilet.

The second stop after Hashigo sake is "Kameyanotakuya," a teppanyaki restaurant located just a little south of "Kunidaya Saketen." The name is quite mysterious, isn't it? I had always been curious about this place whenever I passed by, so I decided to go in. They serve Okinawan dishes as well, so I ordered a Shikuwasa (Okinawan citrus) chu-hai. It was a bit sweet but delicious. They have a wide variety of dishes like okonomiyaki, yakisoba, monjayaki, teppanyaki, salad, and more. It's really hard to choose from the menu. I ordered the okonomiyaki with pork belly, spicy wiener, potato butter mentaiko, and Caesar salad. The spicy wiener was quite hot, and the potato butter mentaiko was a big hit! The butter and mentaiko coated the potatoes perfectly, creating a rich and flavorful dish. The texture of the potatoes was also amazing! For my second drink, I had a fruit-infused shochu highball. They had lemon, mango, and tomato flavors, and I chose mango. It was a big hit! The fresh mango added a delicious touch. Next, I tried the lemon fruit-infused highball. It was full of lemon flavor, refreshing and perfect for teppanyaki dishes. It was just the way I like it. Refreshing and suited the teppanyaki perfectly.

I really wanted to eat Monjayaki, but I couldn't find many Monja restaurants in Kyoto when I searched online. I happened to see a friend's Instagram post about this restaurant, so I decided to visit right away! The restaurant, which has been open for 3 years, is still very clean inside. There are smoking and non-smoking sections, and since it was not crowded, I was able to choose my favorite seat. There were two male staff members who energetically and with a smile provided great service! I ordered Seseri Garlic (consistently delicious), Spicy Wiener (quite spicy), Daikon Salad (great for preventing hangovers), Mentaiko Mochi Cheese Monja, Suji Corn Kimchi Monja. It was actually my first time eating Monjayaki. I had a rough idea of how to eat it from TV, but it was a bit challenging to get the batter to stick to the spatula. With the guidance of my experienced companion, I managed to do it while fumbling a bit... It was fun eating Monja! Mentaiko Mochi Cheese was delicious just as I imagined! This definitely calls for a beer! I wondered if I could eat a bit more, so I experimentally added Beef Tendon Corn Kimchi. The richness of the tendon seeped into the batter and was delicious! I should have ordered this first as it is heavier... I felt bad for not being able to finish the food even though it was delicious. It was my first visit, but I had a fun meal chatting with the staff! Since it's close to my house, I will definitely visit again (^_^) Thank you for the meal!
