This was my nth visit to this place. The bagels here are not soft and chewy, but rather dense and substantial. There are many different varieties to choose from, so I always have a hard time deciding and end up buying a lot each time. I love it. This time, I got some for takeout and also had a sandwich made to eat right away. I added lettuce to the chicken salad. It had a lot of vegetables and was healthy, but I think I prefer making my own sandwich with my favorite fillings. It was very filling and satisfied my hunger.

I love chewy and dense bagels, but I have had a hard time finding them. Finally, I came across a high-quality bagel that I had been searching for. It has a sweet aroma and the more you chew, the more sweetness and flavor you taste. I visited around 7:30 am on Saturday, so there was no line and I was able to buy them right away. I believe all varieties of bagels were already available at the store. This is a must-visit shop that I would love to go back to anytime.

I learned that bagels can be frozen, so I decided to do a bulk purchase on Sunday at Maruichi Bagel in Shirokanedai. I bought 4 bagels: Rock Salt (350 yen), Poppy Seed (350 yen), Blueberry (380 yen), and Cinnamon Raisin (380 yen). When I picked up the paper bag filled with the bagels, I was surprised by how heavy it was. The bagels had a dense texture, making them feel heavier than expected. When I got home, I tried the Blueberry bagel, and its dense texture made it very filling. I wrapped the other 3 bagels in plastic wrap and stored them in the freezer as recommended. I later thawed the Rock Salt bagel in the microwave and found that its flavor remained intact. The dense texture of the bagels made them take longer to cool down even after heating, so I literally burnt my hands while eating them. Overall, it was a delicious meal.

I couldn't find the Everything bagel I wanted in the back showcase, so I opted for the Blueberry bagel for ¥380 instead. It was placed in a paper bag for me, and I also received a small bag of rock salt. The next morning, I enjoyed the dense chewiness of the bagel. Even just one was quite filling.

I visited Maruichi Bagel near Shirokanitakanawa just before closing. There were mostly salad fillings left for sandwiches... and only a few bagels left! The first one was an apple cinnamon bagel with cream cheese. The second one was plain with red bean and salted butter.

I usually feel bad for inconveniencing others, but when I can take my time to choose, I end up being indecisive. The staff kindly helped me, and I am grateful for their patience. I love Maruichi not only for their delicious food but also for their warm hospitality. I bought various items, but the ordered sandwich with mackerel was incredibly delicious. Mackerel, cucumber, sesame oil. I remembered a review saying that adding sesame oil to Maruichi's chicken sandwich makes it taste better, so I decided to try it with mackerel since there was no chicken available. The result was amazing. The sesame oil goes really well with it. However, I later realized that the sesame oil costs 200 yen... for just a few cc. I thought I could have just added my own sesame oil at home, but I guess that's just me being frugal. I ended up spending 6000 yen on sandwiches alone! For just myself! I will definitely go back again!!

I bought various types of bagels, but none of them were to my liking. I have entered the US over 100 times and have eaten many bagels in NY, but I did not find them delicious. Hmm, I can't quite explain what I didn't like about them, but they just weren't to my taste. Both the texture and the flavor were not to my liking. Bakery hopping. Bagel specialty store. When I visited around 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, there were only 4 types of bagels left. Upon entering the store, the staff explained the bagels while providing customer service. It seemed like there was one staff member assigned to each customer for assistance. I wanted a sweet bagel, so I chose the Blueberry Bagel. I only purchased the Blueberry Bagel to take home, but it seems you can also have bagels with vegetables or salad as a sandwich. There was a bag hanging above the register with organic bananas for sale. The system is to wait outside if there are already 6 people inside (excluding children). I realized I forgot to take a picture of the bagel after eating about 1/4 of it, so I could only capture a part of the bagel in the photo. 😂

I visited a bakery that seemed popular and bought a bagel for 380 yen to go. I think it was called Seven Grain Honey. It felt quite heavy when I held it. The texture is chewy and dense. Maybe it's the scent of rye? The aroma is rich. Personally, I didn't really like the texture or taste. The exterior of the shop was quite plain.

What's great is that you can make reservations and payments online in advance. This is very convenient. It can be difficult to go to a shop a bit far from home in the morning, and popular shops may run out by the time you arrive. I feel that this tendency is particularly strong in bagel shops. Therefore, this system allows you to go shopping with peace of mind according to your schedule, which is very much appreciated. This time, I bought Plain, Blueberry, and Cinnamon Raisin bagels. They are incredibly heavy! You can tell that they are packed densely and have a substantial weight. Why are bagels so heavy? Personally, I preferred the Blueberry flavor. The right amount of blueberries kneaded into the dough allowed me to enjoy a balanced taste of bagel and blueberry. I felt very satisfied with the delicious bagels. On the other hand, since I am not used to eating bagels and not a big fan, my excitement may be a bit subdued compared to those who love them. However, even for someone like me, recognizing a delicious bagel is impressive. For those who love bagels, I recommend giving it a try.

The tuna sandwich (everything) is amazing, the vegetable sandwich is also great. The smoked fish sandwich is better than the one with bagel dough, the taste of the smoked fish itself is excellent. The cashew nut paste, banana (plain), raisin, walnut, soy (cinnamon raisin) combination is the best.
