The hot soup warmed my chilled body from the air conditioning - it was my first time having lunch on a weekday, and they had lunch sets available but I opted for the vegetable ramen with miso flavor. The crunchy texture of the sautéed vegetables was irresistibly delicious! I added garlic and chili midway for a spicy and even more delicious taste! I wish I could have had a beer if I wasn't hungover. Despite being a weekday, more and more customers kept coming in, and I noticed that there were many solo female diners. Next time, I want to try the tantanmen noodles.

On July 7, 2023, Friday, I went to a standing bar near Awaji Station for a drink during the day, then to another standing bar near Hankyu Kamikatsura Station. Finally, we ended up at a recommended restaurant connected to Hankyu Katsura Station, which was my first visit. I ordered the recommended vegetable ramen with lots of spicy chili peppers added to make it bright red. It was so delicious with plenty of vegetables. Both of us finished the bright red ramen completely! Thank you for the meal!

On a cold day in mid-January after visiting Katsura Rikyu, I stopped by this ramen restaurant directly connected to Katsura Station. I ordered the vegetable ramen with miso pork broth as shown in the picture, opting for the small size, and also added 3 dumplings. The soup was rich and filled with plenty of vegetables, and I was satisfied with the delicious taste. The staff at the restaurant were all very friendly, making me want to visit again.

I went to Katsura Station at lunchtime and stopped by because I was hungry. There were delicious-looking ramen dishes like tantanmen, but I was in the mood for fried rice, so I ordered fried rice, garlic-free gyoza (6 pieces), and a draft beer. The food came out fairly quickly. The fried rice was tasty, but it could have been a little less oily. The gyoza was light and crispy. It was Saturday lunchtime, so it quickly filled up with customers. There were mostly male solo diners, but there were also women dining alone like me, so it didn't feel intimidating to enter.

Tonight, I visited Ramen Yokozuna right outside Hankyu Katsura Station. Despite the name "Yokozuna" (which is the highest rank in sumo wrestling), I decided to give it a try. The menu had a variety of Chinese dishes, and one thing that caught my eye was the fried rice set. Instead of the ramen coming with fried rice, it was the other way around - half ramen with fried rice. It was a bit unusual for a ramen shop to have fried rice as the main dish, but I found it intriguing. As for the ramen, it was thin straight noodles in a pork bone soy sauce broth. Since it was a half portion, I felt like I couldn't fully appreciate the taste as I'm not a very good judge of flavors. The fried rice was not dry or greasy, it was just right and delicious. I also ordered dumplings and foolishly indulged in something I shouldn't eat before my health check-up in two days - high blood sugar. Will I survive it? (laughs) Thanks for the meal!

I visited around 8:30 pm on a Sunday. It's the same station building as before, but it has moved locations, so it was my first visit since then. There were only 2 other groups of customers during the Sunday dinner peak. It seems like there are more customers on weekdays after work. My favorite one-coin drink set was priced at 520 yen due to the current situation. I ordered a draft beer and gyoza, and also a small ramen. The beer arrived first, followed by the ramen before the gyoza, which was disappointing. The gyoza was not as hot as I expected, so I could eat it in one bite even with a sensitive tongue. I was a bit disappointed. They didn't bring water throughout the meal, which was unusual. The floor staff brought a basket for my belongings, which was a nice gesture, but I still wished for water. Despite it being a Sunday night, there were only three solo female customers, including myself. I couldn't help but feel a lack of vibrancy in society. Thank you for the meal.

After work, I had dinner at Ramen Yokozuna "Keimenbo" and ordered the "Zaru Ramen with Karaage" with a side of half fried rice. It was a steamy hot day today, so the Zaru Ramen was a good choice. The soy sauce soup was refreshing and easy to eat when dipped in. The soy sauce soup seemed to be a combination of ramen soup and Japanese soy sauce. I was very satisfied with my favorite noodles, fried rice, and the trio of karaage. My stomach is full. Thank you for the meal.

There is a driving school called New Driver, which is the number one in western Japan, located about a 7-8 minute drive from Hankyu Katsura Station. A customer named Yokozuna has been attending this school since last December to obtain both a regular automatic motorcycle license and a large automatic motorcycle license. The shop is run by a male manager who provides excellent service. The place is quite popular with customers coming in during both day and night. Unlike the typical sumo wrestler that most people are familiar with, this Yokozuna has a slightly different atmosphere, offering a variety of original menu items. I ordered the tsukemen, which is brought in hot with vegetables fried in a pan and added to the dipping sauce. The noodles weighed 300 grams, and the toppings of boiled egg and chashu cost around 200 yen. The total cost was 1100 yen for a stamina-filled tsukemen, which I really enjoyed. I used to come to this shop occasionally for lunch or dinner on my way to and from the driving school from Amagasaki, but now that I have passed the final exam for the large motorcycle license, I may not be able to visit for a while (laughs). The shop is located right after you exit the ticket gate at Hankyu Katsura Station and take the escalator down. If you happen to be near Hankyu Katsura Station, why not stop by for lunch or dinner and check it out? The lunch set was in the 700 yen range.

Hankyu Kyoto Line Katsura Station, a ramen restaurant in the station building. The ramen here is delicious, but my recommendation is the Chao Lou Men, which is ramen topped with stir-fried meat in a sauce similar to sweet and sour pork. It's a meat lover's dream. The regular size is 840 yen, which may be a bit pricey, but it's worth it. On this day, I had the Special Meat Ramen with double meat topping for an extra 230 yen on top of the Fluffy Egg Ramen with a price of 950 yen. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. For those who love meat, there is also an option for triple meat topping for an additional 400 yen.

I visited this restaurant for lunch on Friday, August 28, 2020, in an area where there are hardly any ramen shops, so it was lucky to find this place. I rarely get off at Katsura station, so I had never been to this restaurant before. One surprising thing was that they didn't offer unlimited green onions, which was disappointing because it's my favorite part of ramen. I ordered the small size of tantanmen with mild spiciness, and it was delicious.

Great deal. Mini ramen and rice with fried chicken for 680 yen. You can choose between dumplings or stir-fried vegetables with the fried chicken. The mini ramen was enough for me. It's been a while since I had the Yokozuna ramen, but it was delicious. It even had chashu. The portion size was like that of a dipping ramen bowl. The fried chicken portion was not that big. The soy sauce flavor is strong, so the ponzu sauce was a bit too much. Next time, I might try the dumplings. It was cool to see the kitchen staff cooking in the open kitchen, shaking the wok.

I visited a ramen restaurant inside a train station around 9pm on a Saturday night, but it might be busier on weekdays. There were hardly any people coming back from work, just two customers ahead of me. I ordered a beer for myself, with gyoza as the only option for a snack! Last time I came here, it took too long from when the beer was served to when the gyoza arrived, so I had to order a second beer, but this time the gyoza came relatively quickly after the beer. Thank goodness! Since it's also my dinner, gyoza alone wouldn't be enough, so I also ordered a small ramen. The quite large gyoza was piping hot. The ramen had a rich soup and straight noodles, which is my favorite type. I like to put a lot of pepper in my ramen, haha. There were more staff than customers, which made it a bit awkward, but I didn't let it bother me and enjoyed my time leisurely. The staff came quickly when taking orders, so there was nothing to worry about. I'll definitely visit again.

I dropped by around 9:30 PM on Saturday. It was past the peak time, so there were plenty of seats available. I ordered a beer and the 500 yen gyoza set for starters. Since it was also dinner time, I added a small fried rice to my order. The beer arrived quickly, but the gyoza took a while to come out. By the time I finished half of my beer, the gyoza finally arrived. Shortly after, the fried rice also arrived. Of course, as I was still eating, my beer ran out and I had to order another one. The gyoza was a bit lukewarm and so was the fried rice. In the end, what was supposed to be just a casual drink turned into over 1000 yen with the fried rice. If I hadn't ordered another beer, it would have been just 1000 yen. However, the beer and appetizer set was quite appealing.

After a long time, I had a job in the Hankyu Katsura area and lunchtime arrived. I mistakenly thought there was a Tenkaichi nearby but it turned out to be Yokozuna, so I visited without hesitation. Upon entering, I ordered the standard ramen with rice. The rice arrived first and I noticed that there was no pickled radish, maybe they forgot because it's been 10 years since I last visited this place. When I took a bite of the rice (¥150), I realized it was lacking moisture, probably due to being kept warm for too long. Then, the ramen (¥710) was brought to the table. As I sipped the soup with lotus root, I noticed that the taste was different from what I remembered, it was too light. Even after mixing it, it remained thin, probably due to insufficient draining. I reluctantly ate the noodles, which also felt strange - lacking firmness and on the verge of falling apart. The noodles seemed like they were from the previous day or stored improperly. The soup was too hot and I ended up burning my tongue. I felt like I wasted my money. Despite feeling full from today's lunch, I wonder where I should go next time.
