When I visited Kyoto Daimaru, I stopped by this vegan cafe for a bit. The cafe has a spacious interior. We arrived around 11 o'clock and ordered a white liver burger, an iced cafe latte, and a brownie set. My wife had a hot cafe latte. I thought the flavors might be a bit weak, but they were surprisingly rich. Both the burger, the fries, and the brownie were delicious. Especially the brownie was really tasty.

I was surprised to walk in without knowing that it was a vegan menu only. My companions were also taken aback, but other restaurants were crowded due to Golden Week, so we had no choice but to eat here. The minestrone had plenty of chopped vegetables, but only came with two slices of bread, which seemed a bit pricey. There was no meat, but it turned out to be surprisingly tasty. It was more on the watery side without much thickness. When I asked my companions about the pasta, they said it was quite delicious. The coffee creamer had a plant-based taste and smell, but since most creamers are not made with dairy anyway, it was not a big deal.

It was around 3 o'clock, but perhaps because I am vegan, the place was not crowded even though it was a weekday during Golden Week. The muffins, made without eggs or milk, were delicious. The banana chocolate parfait was rich and tasty as well. The quality was unique to vegan cuisine.

There is plenty of space between tables, allowing you to relax and enjoy your time. This is a vegan restaurant. I had the basil pasta, which was delicious with a rich flavor. The set menu includes pasta, dessert, and a drink for 1600 yen.

I found a new cafe inside Daimaru while wandering around, so I decided to come here today. It is one of the 9 food and beverage outlets operated by Triba Coffee, which focuses on promoting ethical consumption of products that are good for both the body and the environment. This particular cafe in Kyoto does not use animal-based ingredients and offers some gluten-free options. They try to use less wheat and sugar, opting for alternatives like oatmeal, rice flour, chickpea flour, and cane sugar in their cakes, as well as soy milk and almond milk in their lattes. Personally, I still prefer lattes made with cow's milk, but this cafe has come close to bridging that gap with their soy lattes, which are among the best I've had. The coffee served here suits my taste, making it even more enjoyable. The brownie, while dense and sweet, doesn't leave that heavy feeling in the stomach after eating it, which I appreciate. I look forward to trying other items on the menu in the future.

There aren't many vegan restaurants, so I will definitely go back! The service from the student-looking staff was a bit inexperienced. Maybe they are not comfortable talking to new people. During a break on a trip to Kyoto and Osaka, I visited Whitely by Toriba Coffee on the 3rd floor of Daimaru Kyoto. This is a vegan and plant-based food restaurant. The menu and interior of the restaurant are shown in the pictures. I tried the Vegan Yogurt Sundae and the Spicy Chili Chocolate Muffin set with an iced cafe latte. The food was surprisingly delicious, not tasting like typical vegan or plant-based food. The yogurt sundae was light and not overly sweet, while the muffin had a perfect balance of sweet chocolate and spicy chili flavors. The oat milk in the cafe latte was a bit noticeable, and I prefer regular milk. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.

I had a vegan cafe white cinnamon and berry muffin with rooibos tea. The muffin was big with a satisfying texture, moist inside, and delicious. It paired perfectly with the refreshing rooibos tea.

On July 7th, Whitely by Toriba Coffee Kyoto Daimaru store opened on the 3rd floor of Daimaru Kyoto store in Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City. It is a vegan cafe that uses plant-based, organic ingredients without meat, eggs, or dairy products. You can choose from soy milk, almond milk, or oat milk instead of regular milk for your coffee. I chose almond milk and was pleasantly surprised by the cute leaf-like latte art on top of my latte. Despite heavy rain outside, the spacious floor and wide seating allowed me to enjoy my delicious latte in a relaxed atmosphere. I was curious about the taste of a vegan restaurant, which is rare in Kansai, so I decided to stop by. The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of Daimaru Department Store in Kyoto. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't crowded, so I was seated right away. Since I had already eaten, this time I ordered a vegan baked cheesecake and a hot café latte. The dishes arrived fairly quickly. I tried the baked cheesecake, which wasn't very rich in flavor but still tasted good. The café latte was also quite tasty, and I couldn't tell it was vegan. I used my Daimaru Matsuzakaya membership card points for payment, which was a good deal.
