The second branch of the yakiniku restaurant where I used to go alone. This place has a counter and tatami seating. It may be a bit intimidating to go alone at first, but once you get used to it, it's fine. They still offer a variety of hormones and meats. On this day, we had heart, skirt, tongue with green onions, salted tongue, and liver, along with about two drinks each. It was delicious! Just the right amount of good meat. This is happiness. Thank you for the feast!

The onion sauce paired perfectly with the meat and was delicious! I usually prefer tongue salt at yakiniku restaurants, but here the Harami was the best! Personally, I thought the cheese bibimbap at the end was amazing! The melted cheese on top was so crispy and delicious! The restaurant has both counter and table seating, and it feels a bit cramped and always busy, so I think reservations are necessary.

Located on the east side, south of the intersection of Kawaramachi Sanjo, this restaurant is just a short walk from Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae Station. It is on the second floor, up the stairs facing Kawaramachi Street. The entrance is marked by a black curtain, but it may be easy to miss due to its narrow frontage. I was looking for a place where a small group can enjoy yakiniku casually and stumbled upon this spot. They offer continuous service on Saturdays, which is convenient. I visited with a friend on a Saturday evening and we were the only customers, probably because it wasn't a mealtime. There are counter seats and tatami seating in the back, and we chose the tatami seating. The menu prices were reasonable, not too cheap or expensive. They also offer half-size portions, but since odd numbers like 3 pieces are available, I thought it might be more suitable for solo diners. We ordered the regular size, which included wagyu tongue and three types of lean meat. The dipping sauces were teriyaki, lemon, and ponzu, with the teriyaki being not too sweet despite its thickness. Overall, I found it to be a good spot for enjoying yakiniku with a small group. The staff were very friendly.

Visited a yakiniku restaurant in the bustling district of Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto on January 4th. Due to the New Year period, there was a seating fee of 500 yen per person. The menu was not the usual one, but we were asked to choose from the New Year menu. The cabbage in the photo was the appetizer for two people, costing 1000 yen... Hmm... I would have been more understanding if they had just called it a seating fee of 500 yen per person instead of an appetizer fee. The special sets for the New Year period were priced at 5000 yen or 6000 yen, all quite expensive, so we opted for individual orders. The quality of the meat was just average, like something you would find at a chain restaurant. The negi shio tan was the worst I've seen, with very thin slices of meat. I understand the challenges of sourcing during the New Year period, but for a meat-focused restaurant, they could have planned better, like stocking up before the New Year rush. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience in terms of meat quality, price, and service. It was a special visit during the New Year period, but unfortunately, it fell short.

The price for the New Year's dish was 500 yen for an appetizer, which turned out to be sliced cabbage with dressing, quite expensive for just cabbage. I decided not to eat it and looked at the menu to order something else. However, the staff kept insisting on ordering from a special menu for the New Year, which only had high-priced items like 5000 yen course or 6000 yen course with premium meat dishes. I didn't feel like ordering anything, especially the harami which was over 1000 yen. In the end, my partner had to choose the menu for us. The kimchi served was light and had a strong garlic flavor, which was not to our liking. The negi shio tan was thin and salty, not our preference. The seseri was average, lacking in flavor. The korikori was too tough to chew. The lemon sour had a good fragrance but lacked acidity. Overall, the food was not worth the high prices, and the service attitude was questionable. It left a bad impression, and I wouldn't recommend it.

On a Saturday night, on the way back home with my child from an outing, we decided to try out a new yakiniku restaurant. Located in Sanjo Kawaramachi, right by the river, the restaurant was on the second floor. We could only find seats at the counter, but there were also tatami rooms in the back. We ordered "hatsu sashimi" as the specialty fresh hormone dish, along with "red meat trio platter," "negi shio tan," and "upper kalbi." We also got "tamago kake gohan" and a mixed namul platter. The "hatsu sashimi" had no unpleasant smell or taste, but lacked in flavor. The "red meat trio platter" was a bit on the smaller side for its price. The slices for yakiniku were thin and fatty. The "negi shio tan" was surprisingly small and underwhelming. The "upper kalbi" had too much fat and shrunk after cooking. The "tamago kake gohan" was not as good as homemade, according to my child. Overall, for two people without alcohol, the bill was over 8,000 yen. Considering the location, the value for money was not great with this meal.

I visited the restaurant for the first time on Monday, July 29, around 7 pm. The atmosphere on the second floor was great. I ordered Tan Yukke, lemon sour, grilled shabu-shabu, Tan salt, extra large rice, and moyashi andanto. Everything was so delicious. I recommend grilling the shabu-shabu one slice at a time because it creates a lot of flavor. It goes really well with rice, so you can eat it quickly. I wanted to get a refill of the extra large rice, but since I had two lemon sours, I decided to hold off. I was completely satisfied and happy. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely go back. Thank you for all the ingredients in this world.

I visited a restaurant affiliated with Yakiya Ando, where I have been a regular customer. It was my first time visiting, as I heard that it is a place where you can easily dine alone. The restaurant is located on the second floor, so it was a bit hard to find the entrance, but the atmosphere inside was nice. There was a sign saying "We'll listen to your requests" which made me smile. I ordered a few meat dishes that could be eaten by one person. I tried their recommended dish, the heart sashimi, and it was delicious. I also had hormone and lean meat marinated in sauce, salt, and chili pepper. Lemon sour goes really well with grilled meat. The slight acidity of the lemon balances out the richness of the meat. The meat was fresh and the cost performance was good, although it was not cheap. But if you want to enjoy decent quality meat, it's worth it. In Kyoto, the cost performance is good.

First food log article!! It was so delicious that I decided to write about it. I went to a yakiniku restaurant in Kyoto and it was the best! The entrance was narrow and you had to climb up the stairs to get in. Usually, these types of restaurants never disappoint, right? Inside, there were table seats and counter seats. The counter seats are great for dining alone or with a friend. The staff were friendly and talkative if you engage with them, but quiet if you prefer to eat in peace. The drink menu was one drink per person, which I liked. Now, onto the meat. First, I tried the heart sashimi for the first time. It was more like sashimi than meat, with no fat and a texture similar to tuna sashimi. It's great for those who like something refreshing. I personally prefer the grilled heart, with its juicy and flavorful taste. The tongue was delicious, but I prefer the thinner slices that cook quickly rather than the thicker ones. The belly was absolutely amazing! The meat juices dance in your mouth! It's like a soup dumpling, with an incredible broth. Definitely order the belly and heart. Even though I'm not a big fan of horumon, it was delicious and easy to eat. The menu was extensive with many unique items that got me really excited. You should definitely visit this place!

It had been a while since I last visited, but I feel like the food was better before. The meat was all average, nothing special, and for the price, it felt a bit underwhelming. It was tasty, but it seems like I might not feel the urge to go back to this restaurant again... What a shame ( ̄▽ ̄)

The all-you-can-drink second party course was originally 2980 yen and could only be reserved from 7:00 pm onwards, but it was changed to include all-you-can-drink. However, the famous lemon sour was not included in the all-you-can-drink menu. With an order of the set yakiniku with sakura yukke that included extra toppings, the total cost per person was 6500 yen. The all-you-can-drink option felt a bit pricey. Overall, the quality of the meat did not match the high price, making it feel overpriced. I had high expectations with a rating of 4 or 5, but unfortunately, I was disappointed. This is my first time leaving a review.

Kyoto Hormone is delicious, the quality of the meat is high, and the moyashi (bean sprouts) are abundant and cheap.
