I bought a sandwich for lunch, but it felt like something was missing. I often go to the main store of a familiar shop called Saikiya. I didn't realize they also have a shop in Isetan! I got tamagoyaki and inari sushi, which I can save for dinner if there are leftovers. I was planning to eat them on the Shinkansen, but then a foreign man sat next to me, and I felt a bit embarrassed to eat in front of him. I ended up eating them at my daughter's house. I bought fish from the depachika at Seibu or Tobu in Ikebukuro, and vegetables were sent to me by courier from a nearby farm without pesticides. I quickly prepared Suzuki sashimi, salt-grilled salmon, miso soup, rice, sesame spinach, and grilled long green peppers. The tamagoyaki was indeed delicious, and the inari sushi was also very tasty. I ate two pieces, but my daughter was full and didn't eat any, so I have two leftover for breakfast tomorrow!

Saikia-san, I really wanted to try it. I saw it at an event in Tokyo, and my friend used it at Ginza Mitsukoshi. I love mackerel sushi, so I also want to try the inari sushi! Also, the rolled omelette is really delicious. I'm going back home alone for a two-night, three-day trip, and I'll be back in time for dinner on Saturday. My husband bought a lot of 551 fried rice bento boxes and pork buns for his dinner. For my dinner, I decided to get takeout from Saikia-san. I was thinking of getting the mackerel sushi and rolled omelette bento, but they were out of mackerel sushi. They had a set with conger eel, inari sushi, and rolled omelette, which seemed just right in terms of quantity. The staff (female) was very efficient and kind, providing excellent customer service. I bought the bento, which was reasonably priced, and they gave me extra ice packs since I looked like a traveler with a lot of luggage. They said "Take care! We look forward to your next visit!" to me as I left. Their customer service towards other customers was also top-notch! I was impressed by their dedication. As for the bento, the rolled omelette was undeniably delicious! However, I couldn't taste the conger eel and vinegared rice very well, which was a bit unexpected. Maybe it was because I had eaten something with a stronger flavor earlier. I'm not a fan of vinegared rice, but I couldn't really taste the vinegar in it. The inari sushi was also tasty, but it didn't have that juicy texture of the fried tofu that I was expecting. It was more like "Oh, this is normal." Maybe I left it in the fridge for too long and it got too cold. Next time, if I come across their event in Tokyo, I'll try the bento with thick mackerel sushi and rolled omelette collaboration! Anyway, the staff at Saikia was fantastic, with their energetic and enthusiastic customer service!

I visited the JR Kyoto Isetan store to try out the traditional takeout shop "Daitoku-ji Saikiya" from Kyoto. They are known for their popular dashimaki tamago (rolled omelette), and this time I bought a bento box from their store. I chose the Chicken Dashimaki Bento, which included chicken seasoned with sansho pepper and sauce, along with their signature dashimaki tamago. The tamago had a fluffy texture with a gentle flavor of dashi, while the chicken was cooked tenderly with real sansho pepper. The bento was generously filled with chicken and was a satisfying meal. It was convenient to be able to purchase Daitoku-ji Saikiya's bento at the JR Kyoto Isetan store.

Located in the JR Kyoto Isetan underground 2nd floor, this shop in Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto, on the east side of Karasuma Street, just opened on June 6th. Following their expansion to Tokyo last October, they have now opened a shop in Kyoto Station Building as well. During lunchtime, I purchased the "Anago Dashimaki Bento" for 1,728 yen and the "Dashimaki Tamago" for 756 yen. The Dashimaki Tamago here is unique, as it uses a refined Kyoto-style dashi with a 1:1 ratio of dashi to egg. The Anago Dashimaki Bento includes two pieces of this special dashimaki tamago along with eel. The tamari sauce on the eel is light and not overpowering. While I wished the eel was a bit softer, it's understandable for a bento. Following their shop opening in Ginza Mitsukoshi last October, they have now opened in Kyoto's Isetan. They frequently participate in Kyoto-related events nationwide. Starting from the 21st, they will also be at Kintetsu Department Store Yokkaichi.

Before boarding the Shinkansen, I visited Isetan Depachika around 1 PM on Saturday. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor. The main dishes are rolled omelette and rolled sushi, and the rolled omelette was fluffy.
