I arrived at Kureshima for the second time because I felt like eating yakitori. It was around 9 pm on Saturday and the restaurant was almost full, but luckily I was able to get a seat at the counter. They kindly cleared a seat for me at the end where there were plates and soy sauce already set up. I ordered an assortment of 8 yakitori skewers, beef tendon stew, seafood yukhoe, and 5 more yakitori skewers (heart, thigh, gizzard, leek, and ?). The yakitori cooked over charcoal was delicious. The beef tendon stew had a nice spicy kick to it, which I enjoyed even though I usually don't like spicy food. The seafood yukhoe was very fresh and the secret sauce on top made it incredibly tasty. The best part was the energetic lady working there, who would come over to chat with us at times. She was like a motherly figure and I felt like I wanted to visit again just to see her.

I was able to drink quickly! It's a nice izakaya with a good atmosphere. The service was polite and cheerful, so I had a good time.

It's been a while since I went. Everything was delicious. I will go again.

I enjoyed the meal very much. The restaurant played a lot of Showa era songs, creating a nice atmosphere. The staff were also very friendly and attentive.

I went on a Friday night. We checked out a few places, but since there were four of us with different preferences, we settled on Kureshima, an izakaya with a variety of dishes. The place was about 60% full, and luckily there were open table seats in the back. The menu had a good selection, from sashimi to grilled dishes, catering to everyone's tastes. The alcohol options were plentiful, ranging from beer to sake and wine. The yellowtail belly sashimi was excellent, and the bacon block was delicious as well. If you're unsure of what to order, this place is a good choice.

I wandered around Nishijin in Kyoto for the first time, and it's a nice neighborhood. It suits my taste. After walking around, I found a place called Kureshima that seemed to have available seats. I was drawn in by the sign advertising yakitori and kushikatsu. The exterior is not overly grand, but it has a calm and relaxed atmosphere with a traditional izakaya feel. Inside, there is a spacious counter with several seats and tables in the back. I chose to sit at the counter, which was comfortable and not cramped at all. The appetizer was satisfying, with a delicious plate of sashimi. The ehomaki roll was larger than expected and tasty. The assorted kushikatsu, featuring squid, salmon, shrimp, octopus, and yellowtail, was beautifully presented and reasonably priced at 580 yen. The yakitori assortment was also delicious, and the grilled chicken wings were particularly flavorful. The sake selection included Shimeharitsuru Junmai, Tatsuriki, Otokoyama Kimoto, Kokuryu, and Juyondai Honmaru, with reasonable prices except for Juyondai.

It is located a 5-minute walk west of Nishinomiya Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line. It would be better to take the train to get there. The restaurant has a decent size, with a second floor that would be great for parties. The interior design seemed to be inspired by traditional Japanese style. The food is mostly typical of what you would find at a regular izakaya. The target customers appear to be in their 30s to 40s. Overall, it was an average restaurant.
